Abstract

Hama uret (Lepidiota stigma F.) merupakan ancaman serius bagi tanaman tebu. Penggunaan pestisida kimia dalam pengendalian hama uret menimbulkan masalah jangka Panjang, diantaranya pencemaran lingkungan dan resistensi hama. Alternatif untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan penggunaan agen hayati seperti Metarhizium sp. dan biopestisida. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu: untuk melihat efektivitas jamur Metarhizium sp. dan biopestisida alami dari tandan kosong kelapa sawit dalam mengendalikan hama uret di lahan tebu Desa Grati, Lumajang dengan melihat mortalitas dan populalsi hama uret. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Non-Faktorial. Terdapat tiga perlakuan yaitu aplikasi jamur Metarhizium sp, aplikasi biopestisida dan kontrol dengan masing-masing perlakuan menggunakan 10 kali ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dengan uji lanjut BNT taraf 5% jika terdapat pengaruh nyata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jamur Metarhizium sp. lebih efektif dalam membunuh hama uret tebu (92,67%) dibandingkan biopestisida (78%).

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of lecture timing on learning outcomes in Multivariable Calculus using One-Way ANOVA. The type of research is quantitative. The subjects of this study are students of the Mathematics Education program at Jember University from class of 2023, for the Academic Year 2024-2025, enrolled in the regular Multivariable Calculus course. The samples were purposively selected: Class A (morning class) with 35 students, Class B (afternoon class) with 37 students, and Class E (evening class) with 30 students. The sample data were free of outliers, normally distributed, and homogeneous. The results show that and p-value < 0.05, indicating that at a 95% confidence level, there is at least one pair of treatments with significantly different average learning outcomes. Based on the Post Hoc test, significant differences in average learning outcomes were found between Class A and Class B, and between Class A and Class E, while betweet Class B and Class E did not show significant differences in average learning outcomes. Abstract

Kelompok Tani Ngudi Kaweruh merupakan salah satu kelompok tani aktif di Dusun Tegal Rejo terletak di Desa Sabrang, Kecamatan Ambulu, Kabupaten Jember. Salah satu kendala yang banyak dikeluhkan petani adalah pupuk subsidi yang terbatas dan sulit didapat. Selain itu, untuk memperoleh pupuk subsidi harus melalui prosedur yang tidak mudah. Petani akhirnya beralih menggunakan pupuk anorganik non subsidi yang dijual dengan harga tinggi. Selain itu, penggunaan pupuk dan pestisida kimia yang berlebihan akan meningkatkan biaya produksi sehingga akan menurunkan keuntungan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan solusi alternatif pemupukan yang aman dan bekelanjutan. Berdasarkan permasalahan Mitra, alternatif solusi yaitu program penerapan kompos blotong sebagai substitusi pupuk anorganik di kelompok tani tersebut. Program dilaksanakan sejak bulan Juli – September 2024. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi survey dan sarasehan, sosialisasi kompos blotong, diskusi, dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan menjelaskan bahwa kelompok tani memiliki cara pandang lain terhadap pupuk anorganik, keberlanjutan agroekosistem, dan ekonomi sosial

Abstract

Introduction: Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is one of the horticultural plants of the fruit type which is included in the gourd tribe or Cucurbitaceae family. The problem of melon cultivation in the field is that it requires intensive maintenance, is susceptible to pests and diseases, uses less efficient nutrients, is sensitive to weeds, and has less controlled growth. The above problems can be overcome by hydroponic techniques. In hydroponic techniques, environmental resources are easier to control and the results obtained are more satisfying compared to conventional cultivation, especially in open fields. Amino acids are proteins that have been broken down through the metabolic process into small molecules. In addition to humans, plants also need amino acids to increase overall yields and quality. Methods: This study aims to determine the effect of providing the best Amino Plant concentration for the growth and production of melon plants. This study was conducted in June - October 2022 at the Smart Green House (SGH) of Jember State Polytechnic. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of one factor, namely the concentration of Amino Acid with 3 levels, namely P1 (4 mg/L), P2 (8 mg/L), and P3 (12 mg/L). Results: The results of the study showed that the administration of Amino Acids at a dose of 2 g/L gave results that were not significantly different (ns) in all parameters and showed that there was no effective concentration for melon growth and production in all parameters.Conclusion: Based on the results of this research, it is recommended to carry out further research by applying Amino Plant according to the guidelines on the packaging. It is necessary to calibrate the drip irrigation or fertigation system so that the nutrient flow is uniform.

Abstract

Tanaman tebu merupakan tanaman yang sangat dibutuhkan karena seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah populasi penduduk Tebu merupakan tanaman yang multifungsi, selain sebagai penghasil gula, juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai biofuel, daunnya sebagai pakan ternak, sereseahnya sebagai sumber bahan organik. Tanaman tebu ternyata juga rentan terhadap serangan hama. Lebih dari 100 jenis hama dapat menyerang tebu seperti ordo Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Aphid, tungau, burung, dan tikus. Alternatif pengendalian hama uret tebu yang ramah lingkungan, sekaligus memanfaatkan sumberdaya hayati yang ada adalah dengan pemberdayaan cendawan Metarhiiun sp. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (P2M), petani tebu rakyat di Desa Rogotrunan Kabupaten Lumajang memperoleh pengetahuan terkait cendawan Metarhizium sp., serta keterampilan dalam eksplorasi dan perbanyakaan Metarhizium sp.. Kegiatan ini sangat dibutuhkan oleh petani tebu rakyat di Desa Rogotrunan, mengingat selama ini petani tebu di Desa Rogotrunan mengendalikan hama uret secara mekanis dan kimiawi, dan belum memanfaatkan potensi sumberdaya hayati yang ada di alam, seperti cendawan Metarhizium sp. Cara memperbanyak Metarhizium sp. mudah dilakukan oleh petani, dengan bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh dengan harga terjangkau, selain itu cara perbanyakan yang mudah tepat disampaikan pada masyarakat petani tebu, dengan harapan masyarakat akan mengerti adanya sumberdaya hayati di sekitar, yang dapat diperbanyak secara sederhana, aman terhadap lingkungan, serta dapat mengurangi penggunaan pestisida kimia. Petani tebu rakyat di Desa Rogotrunan juga dibekali dengan keterampilan dalam pengemasan dan aplikasi hasil perbanyakan Metarhizium sp. pada tanaman tebunya, dengan konsentrasi, dosis, dan cara yang tepat.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the commodities in Indonesia that excels in exports, and one of the most widely cultivated coffees in Indonesia is robusta coffee. Propagation by segment cuttings on Robusta coffee plants can produce new plants in large numbers and have the same gene characteristics as the parent in a short period. Then there is a growth regulatory administered exogenously (from outside) are an alternative way to accelerate root formation in plants. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the number of segments and concentration of Rootone-F on the growth of robusta coffee cuttings. The research was conducted for three months, from 23 March 2021 to 15 June 2021. The research was conducted at the Kaliwining Gardens, the Coffee and Cocoa Research Center, Jember. The statistical method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) by factorial. The first factor was the number of segments and the second factor was the concentration of Rootone-F; there were 12 treatment combinations and three replications. The results showed that the number of internodes' treatments was significantly different on shoot length, root wet weight, and root dry weight. The concentration of Rootone F was not significantly different for all variables observed.

Abstract

The cotton plant is a fiber plant that is commonly used as a raw material for textiles, beauty, and health products. To increase cotton production, the development of superior varieties using plant breeding methods in cross-analysis is necessary. The cross-analysis method is used to determine the agronomic traits that affect cotton production, by selecting yield through several other characteristics related to yield. The aim of this study was to identify which agronomic characters can be used as selection criteria to increase cotton production using cross-analysis. The research was conducted at Politeknik Negeri Jember, and included 12 independent variables and one response variable, namely cotton production. The method used in this study was to perform correlation analysis, cross-analysis, calculate direct and residual contributions, and select agronomic characters that can be used as selection criteria. The results showed that the number of fruit characters had the highest correlation with cotton production (RX9Y = 0.835). Cross-analysis was carried out, and the highest direct effect was found between the number of fruit characters and cotton production (PX9Y = 0.971). The highest direct contribution was found in the character of the number of fruit, which had a total contribution of 98.321% and residue of 1.679%. Therefore, the agronomic character that can be used as a direct selection criterion is the number of fruits.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly with the transition from face-to-face to online learning. Many obstacles occur in this online learning system which may affect student achievement. This research aims to analyze the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on student achievement which is reviewed statistically descriptively and inferentially. This research was conducted at SMK Ma'arif 9 Kebumen with a sample of one class X. The research method used was using a quantitative approach, namely the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The analysis results show that based on a 95% confidence level, there is a significant difference between the average learning achievement of students before the pandemic and after the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, with a decrease in the average student scores of 2.98% from the average student scores before the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstract

Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense (Foc) is an important pathogenic fungus that causes Panama disease in banana. One approach to overcome this problem is to utilize secondary metabolites from Trichoderma sp. This research was conducted to determine the effect of administering secondary metabolites from Trichoderma sp. against pathogen Foc. These metabolites were applied at concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30%, 40% alongside a fungicide active ingredient of phosphoric acid 400 SL. This study used a Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments 4 repetition. The parameters observed included colony diameter and percentage of inhibitory. The extraction of secondary metabolite isolation could be obtained as much as 500 ml with reddish brown, thick and odorless characteristics. Secondary metabolites showed a significant effect in inhibiting the growth of the pathogen Foc. The results showed the 10% concentration proved to be the most effective to inhibit pathogen Foc, resulting in the smallest colony diameter of 0.58 cm and an in vitro inhibition rate of 90.73%.

Abstract

Indonesia's orange production in 2014 increased from 1.78 million tonnes to 2.16 million tonnes. In 2016 orange production decreased by 2,212 tons. The decline in orange production was caused by weeds. Weeds cause a reduction in crop yields of up to 61%. The research aims to identify the types of weeds and the secondary metabolic potential of dominant weeds in citrus plants. The research results showed 10 families, 23 species and 400 individual weeds. The weed that has the highest SDR value is the grass type Tridax procumbens with a Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) value of 7.28%. Phytotoxicity in Tridax procumbens leaf plants is P4 with a concentration of 80g/l of 45.33. Wet weight and dry weight affect the P4 concentration with a concentration of 80g/l that most inhibits the growth of Tridax procumbens. Kirinyuh plants contain flavonoids of 250.24 mg/L, phenolics of 265.75 mg/L, and tannins of 242.38 mg/L. The high levels of phenolic compounds in kirinyuh weed have the potential to be used as a bioherbicide.
