Abstract

The book writing training with an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) for teachers at SMA Negeri Plus Sukowono was carried out as an effort to improve literacy and writing productivity among educators. Teachers’ enthusiasm for writing was quite high, but most still faced difficulties in preparing systematic manuscripts and understanding the procedures for publishing ISBN books. This community service activity was implemented using a participatory approach through three main stages, namely needs identification, material delivery, and writing assistance. The training materials covered finding book ideas, understanding structures and types of books, and avoiding plagiarism in writing. The activity was conducted in the form of interactive lectures, hands-on drafting practice, and question-and-answer sessions. The final results showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of the training materials. Some participants successfully compiled outlines and began writing their own book manuscripts. This activity served as an initial step in establishing a school literacy culture centered on teachers’ work, while also opening up opportunities for higher-quality publications in the future. ABSTRAK Kegiatan pelatihan penulisan buku dengan International Standard Book Number (ISBN) bagi guru SMA Negeri Plus Sukowono dilaksanakan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan literasi dan produktivitas karya tulis di kalangan pendidik. Antusiasme guru dalam menulis cukup tinggi, tetapi sebagian besar masih menghadapi kendala dalam menyusun naskah yang sistematis dan memahami prosedur penerbitan buku ber-ISBN. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu identifikasi kebutuhan, penyampaian materi, dan pendampingan penulisan. Materi pelatihan mencakup menemukan ide penulisan buku, sistematika dan jenis-jenis buku, serta menghindari plagiarisme dalam penulisan buku. Kegiatan ini berlangsung dalam bentuk ceramah interaktif, praktik langsung penyusunan draf buku, serta sesi tanya jawab. Hasil akhir menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap materi pelatihan. Sebagian peserta berhasil menyusun kerangka dan mulai menulis naskah buku masing-masing. Kegiatan ini menjadi langkah awal dalam membangun budaya literasi sekolah berbasis karya guru, sekaligus membuka peluang bagi lahirnya publikasi yang lebih berkualitas di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Introduction: Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is one of the horticultural plants of the fruit type which is included in the gourd tribe or Cucurbitaceae family. The problem of melon cultivation in the field is that it requires intensive maintenance, is susceptible to pests and diseases, uses less efficient nutrients, is sensitive to weeds, and has less controlled growth. The above problems can be overcome by hydroponic techniques. In hydroponic techniques, environmental resources are easier to control and the results obtained are more satisfying compared to conventional cultivation, especially in open fields. Amino acids are proteins that have been broken down through the metabolic process into small molecules. In addition to humans, plants also need amino acids to increase overall yields and quality. Methods: This study aims to determine the effect of providing the best Amino Plant concentration for the growth and production of melon plants. This study was conducted in June - October 2022 at the Smart Green House (SGH) of Jember State Polytechnic. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of one factor, namely the concentration of Amino Acid with 3 levels, namely P1 (4 mg/L), P2 (8 mg/L), and P3 (12 mg/L). Results: The results of the study showed that the administration of Amino Acids at a dose of 2 g/L gave results that were not significantly different (ns) in all parameters and showed that there was no effective concentration for melon growth and production in all parameters.Conclusion: Based on the results of this research, it is recommended to carry out further research by applying Amino Plant according to the guidelines on the packaging. It is necessary to calibrate the drip irrigation or fertigation system so that the nutrient flow is uniform.

Abstract

Tanaman tebu adalah sumber utama gula yang penting bagi manusia. Permintaan gula meningkat, tetapi industri kesulitan memenuhi kebutuhan akibat pertumbuhan populasi dan kekurangan bahan baku. Salah satu solusi adalah menggunakan Zat Pengatur Tumbuh untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan tebu. Penelitian di Politeknik Negeri Jember menilai pengaruh ekstrak bawang merah pada pertumbuhan bibit tebu dari September hingga Desember 2024. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial dengan konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah sebesar 10%, 30%, 50%, dan 70%, serta kontrol dengan NPK. Parameter yang diamati diameter batang, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan,berat basah akar dan berat kering akar. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada jumlah daun dan berat basah akar di konsentrasi 50%. Juga ada hasil signifikan pada jumlah anakan dan berat kering akar. Meskipun tidak ada perbedaan signifikan pada diameter batang dan tinggi tanaman, konsentrasi 70% menunjukkan hasil terbaik, dengan rata-rata diameter batang 23,48 dan tinggi 134,1 pada umur 12 minggu.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi menurunnya produksi tanaman tebu yaitu, pertanian modern yang menggunakan pupuk anorganik. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan menggunakan PGPR dan pupuk kandang. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh PGPR dan pupuk kandang, serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi antara keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman tebu. Penelitian ini menggunakan RAK Faktorial, perlakuan 1 konsentrasi PGPR dan perlakuan 2 pupuk kandang sapi dan kambing. Masing-masing faktor terdiri dari 3 taraf dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat parameter yang menunjukkan berbeda nyata yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, diameter batang, dan berat basah berangkasan. Penggunaan PGPR dan pupuk kandang pada pertumbuhan tanaman tebu dapat menjadi alternatif untuk menggantikan pupuk anorganik.

Abstract

The Ngudi Kaweruh Farmer Group is one of the farmer groups in Tegal Rejo Hamlet, Sabrang Village, Ambulu Subdistrict, Jember Regency, which cultivates shallots. The obstacle complained about by this farmer group is the high price of inorganic pesticides in the field. Pesticides do not receive subsidies from the government, while in shallot farming, farmers cannot avoid the use of inorganic pesticides. Based on the problems faced by our partners, we provided an alternative solution, namely the use of Metarhizium as a biological agent to control red onion pests. The program was implemented from February to May 2025. The stages of implementation included surveys and discussions, socialization of the use of Metarhizium, and discussions and assistance. The results of the activity showed that the use of Metarhizium can save farmers' expenses for purchasing inorganic pesticides, control pests, and is environmentally friendly. Farmers can see the real impact of using Metarhizium in shallot cultivation. Therefore, farmers do not hesitate to use Metarhizium to control pests that attack shallots.
