Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the understanding and skills of community members in utilizing livestock waste for sustainable food sources to handle stunting in Gelangsar Village, West Lombok Regency. The method of implementing this activity was through KOSABANGSA program outreach, training, and mentoring. The evaluation instrument for this activity used an environmental observation sheet and assesses the participation and activeness of participants during the activity. The results of this service activity showed that the community has the ability to process cowshed waste (solid) into 40 bags of compost, create a sustainable food house area using polybags in 8 groups spread throughout the village, and one KRPL point on land with an area of around 250 m2, and the types of plants were spinach, tomatoes, eggplant, chilies, mustard greens, lettuce, basil, long beans, family medicinal plants, and others. Guidance and assistance need to be continued considering that the community was very enthusiastic about being able to overcome stunting in Gelangsar village and at the same time wants to become an organic vegetable producer.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the knowledge and skills of partners in upgrading coffee beans to increase the added value of products based on a circular economy model. This community service activity was carried out in Sajang Village, East Lombok Regency using the participatory action research (PAR) method which is oriented towards community empowerment through training and socialization. The evaluation instrument for this activity used a questionnaire and was analyzed descriptively. The results of this service show that partners have been able to improve products from coffee beans to ground coffee with the addition of vanilla and organic cloves. In addition, partners have the ability to design packaging and financial literacy to record product marketing input-output, and can make compost from chopped coffee grounds.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and capacity of farmer groups in preventing the spread of the tungro virus which inhibits the production of their rice plants. The method of implementing this service uses interactive counseling and mentoring. The partner of this activity is the Tandur Rinjani Farmers Group located in Wajagesang Village, Central Lombok Regency. The evaluation instruments used in this activity are structured interviews, field observations and documentation to deepen information about farmers' experiences during mentoring, observing the direct application of anticipation techniques in the field, and analyzing written data from farmer group records. The results of this community service are an increase in the understanding of farmer groups regarding the tungro virus and encouraging them to implement sustainable preventive measures. In addition, this service program has succeeded in increasing the understanding and skills of farmer groups in agricultural product management, from storage, processing, packaging, to marketing. By implementing good product management techniques, farmer groups are able to improve the quality and competitiveness of their products in the market, as well as open access to a wider market.
