Abstract

Labor pain is pain caused by uterine contraction that can cause sympathetic nervous system activity to increase. Labor pain can also cause physiological changes in the body such as blood pressure rising, heart rate increasing, and respiratory rate increasing, and if this pain is not addressed immediately, it will cause more anxiety, tension, fear, and stress. this therapy aims to observe how the two approaches can work together to make labor more comfortable and less traumatic and help reduce pain during labor. This literature review examines the combined effects of counterpressure and hypnobirthing on labor pain reduction. Relevant articles from PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. The result showed that the average pain scale was on a severe scale before counterpressure and hypnobirthing, but on a moderate scale after counterpressure and hypnobirthing. This way, it will reduce pain and make you feel comfortable during contractions or between contractions. Based on the analysis that has been done by the author, it can be concluded that the use of counterpressure and hypnobirthing techniques is effective for reducing labor pain

Abstract

Refers to a study conducted in 2006 at an orphanage in Ecuador to determine how massage therapy can reduce the incidence of diarrhea and morbidity, whereas massage therapy is considered safe and beneficial in reducing the consumption of anti-diarrhea medication. This research aims to find out the benefit of diarrhea massage to diarrhea intensity on toddlers. The research uses Pearson Correlation with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The toddlers under 5 years old at Puskesmas Mijen, Kota Semarang are taken to be the population in this research. This research uses a total sampling technique, with a sample of 12 toddlers. The technique of data collection uses a demographic questionnaire. The technique of data analysis is conducted by Pearson Correlation test. The result of this research found that the significance of the diarrhea massage to diarrhea intensity for toddlers at Puskesmas Mijen, Semarang is 0,001 (pvalue>0,05). The intensity of diarrhea in children under five after diarrhea massage was experienced by as many as 2 toddlers (16.7%), the intensity of diarrhea is rare in as many as 6 toddlers (50.0%), and the intensity of normal diarrhea occurs in 4 toddlers (33.3%), so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between diarrhea massage and the intensity of diarrhea in toddlers at Puskesmas Mijen Semarang. Abstract

The maternal mortality rate of post-SC infection reaches 7.3%, and 90% causes postpartum morbidity. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with the SC wound healing process. This study used a quantitative method, a type of analytic survey research with a cross-sectional design approach. The population of this study were all post-SC mothers in the postpartum ward of Permata Medika Hospital. The sampling technique used was a consecutive sampling of 34 respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis was done using univariate and bivariate (chi-square test, alpha = 0.05). The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between the SC wound healing process and early mobilisation (p-value 0.000 < 0.05), which means there was a relationship between the SC wound healing process and nutritional status (BMI) (p-value 0.04 < 0.05), and there was a relationship between the SC wound healing process and anaemia (p-value = 0.00 <0.05) because if p-value < 0.05, then Ha is accepted. Ho is rejected, meaning a significant relationship exists between early mobilisation, nutritional status, and anaemia in SC wound healing. Many factors affect the SC wound healing process, three of which are early mobilisation factors, which, if done before 6–8 hours after SC, has more potential to accelerate SC wound healing; normal nutritional status as an expression of a person's nutritional balance, which plays a role in the process of body tissue growth and has an impact on the duration of wound healing; and anaemia, which anaemia is a symptom of low haemoglobin levels in the blood and obstructs oxygen flow and prevents the growth and repair of tissue from the SC surgical incision.

Abstract

The rate of deliveries by cesarean section (CS) continues to increase globally and is projected to reach 29% by 2030. Although CS is medically effective in ensuring maternal and neonatal safety, the procedure often results in moderate to severe postoperative pain, which may hinder early mobilization, slow recovery, and reduce the mother’s overall quality of life. Effective pain management is therefore crucial. Non-pharmacological therapies such as endorphin massage and lavender aromatherapy have been recognized as complementary approaches that stimulate the release of relaxation hormones, provide natural analgesic effects, and help reduce anxiety. This study aimed to analyze the effect of combining endorphin massage and lavender aromatherapy on reducing pain levels in post-cesarean section mothers. A quasi-experimental design with a pre–posttest control group was employed. A total of 34 respondents were selected using purposive sampling and divided into intervention and control groups. The study was conducted in the maternity ward of SMC Telogorejo Hospital from March to April 2025. The intervention group received endorphin massage combined with lavender aromatherapy for 10–30 minutes, while the control group was given deep breathing relaxation only. Pain levels were measured before and after the intervention using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data were collected through questionnaires and medical records, and analyzed using univariate and bivariate techniques with the Mann–Whitney test. Results showed a p-value of 0.000 and Z = -3.774, indicating a significant effect of the intervention. These findings suggest that endorphin massage combined with lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing postoperative pain. Further studies with larger samples are recommended to explore the optimal duration and frequency of therapy.

Abstract

Back pain is a common complaint among pregnant women, especially in the third trimester, caused by hormonal changes, uterine enlargement, and poor postural balance. If untreated, this pain can disrupt sleep quality and daily activities. The pelvic tilt technique, a non-pharmacological intervention, strengthens abdominal and pelvic muscles, maintains posture, and relieves back pain. This study examined the effect of the pelvic tilt technique on back pain intensity in third-trimester pregnant women at Karangdoro Public Health Center. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The population consisted of all third-trimester pregnant women with physiological back pain (without comorbid conditions or a history of premature rupture of membranes). Using a total sampling technique, 34 respondents were included. The intervention was conducted for seven consecutive days. Data collection employed observation sheets and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test because the normality test yielded p < 0.05. Statistical results showed p = 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the pelvic tilt technique significantly reduced back pain intensity. These findings suggest that pelvic tilt exercises can serve as a safe, simple, and effective non-pharmacological alternative therapy to alleviate bapain in third-trimester pregnant women.
