Abstract

This research aims to increase the motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of class X students at SMA Negeri 2 Medan through the application of the model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) combined with the use of Quizizz technology. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 36 class X students, with instruments in the form of observation sheets, questionnaires and tests. The research results show that the implementation of PBL assisted by Quizizz is effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes. In the first cycle, 77.78% of students showed high learning motivation, and this figure increased to 100% in the second cycle. Improvements in student learning outcomes were also seen in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects, which experienced significant increases from the first cycle to the second cycle. The PBL model allows students to be more active in learning by presenting contextual mathematical problems, so that abstract material becomes easier to understand. In addition, the use of Quizizz creates an interactive and fun learning atmosphere through game elements. This research concludes that the application of PBL assisted by Quizizz is not only able to improve student learning outcomes holistically, but also motivates them to actively participate in learning. This approach is relevant for improving the quality of mathematics learning, especially in the digital era

Abstract

Perluasan pertanian berkelanjutan di dalam negeri dapat ditempuh melalui pembukaan lahan baru dengan maksud peningkatan produktivitas dan efisiensi produksi pertanian, pengembangan infrastruktur, dan pengaturan tata niaga serta insentif usaha. Salah satu faktor keberhasilan pertanian berkelanjutan sangat dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan lahan pertanian. Sampai saat ini, sebagian besar masPerluasan pertanian berkelanjutan di dalam negeri dapat ditempuh melalui pembukaan lahan baru dengan maksud peningkatan produktivitas dan efisiensi produksi pertanian, pengembangan infrastruktur, dan pengaturan tata niaga serta insentif usaha. Salah satu faktor keberhasilan pertanian berkelanjutan sangat dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan lahan pertanian. Sampai saat ini, sebagian besar masih menggunakan lahan pertanian, padahal selain ketersediaannya terus berkurang, penggunaan yang tidak bijaksana dan pengalihan fungsi lahan juga berdampak terhadap keseimbangan ekologis sehingga daya dukung lingkungan terus menurun dan produktivitas usaha pertanian semakin rendah. Solusi penanggulangannya adalah menciptakan media tanam baru melalui pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan limbah kelapa sawit, limbah ternak sapi dan limbah jagung (triplemix). Dimana jumlah limbah tersebut cukup banyak dan akan menjadi sangat potensial jika dapat dimanfaatkan secara tepat dan optimal. Solusi penanggulangannya adalah menciptakan media tanam baru melalui pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan limbah triplemix. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk  mensosialisasikan dan mengimplementasikan hasil penelitian media tanam yang berkualitas, ramah lingkungan dan meningkatkan pertanian berkelanjutan melalui pelatihan membuat media tanam dari limbah triplemix pada program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat desa Bogak Besar Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Dari hasil pelatihan memberikan keterampilan/pengetahuan tambahan masyarakat desa dan prototif media tanam digunakan untuk menyediakan pakan ternak dan tanaman pangan di pekarangan rumah serta memberikan kesempatan atau peluang usaha baru untuk menambah pendapatan petani/masyarakat desa.ih menggunakan lahan pertanian, padahal selain ketersediaannya terus berkurang, penggunaan yang tidak bijaksana dan pengalihan fungsi lahan juga berdampak terhadap keseimbangan ekologis sehingga daya dukung lingkungan terus menurun dan produktivitas usaha pertanian semakin rendah. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan , keanekaragaman kepiting Uca sebagai bahan penyusunan buku ajar monograf dimana data penelitian yang diperole berasal dari lokasi penelitian pematang kuala. Buku ajar atau buku monograf dapat menjadi bahan ajar mata kuliah ekologi dan taksonomi hewan yang dapat digunakan sebagai sumber baan ajar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni-Juli 2024 di Kawasan Mangrove Dusun V Desa Pematang Kuala Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Berdagai. Jenis Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif, pengamatan yang dilakukan meliputi keanekaragaman dan kondisi habitat kepiting Uca sp (keadaan suhu, pH, salinitas, oksigen terlarut, dan jenis substrat) yang ditemukan di kawasan mangrove Desa Pematang Kuala. Penentuan lokasi pengamatan ini juga ditentukan dengan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 8 spesies Uca yang diperoleh di lokasi penelitian. Spesies Uca terbanyak diperoleh pada spesies Uca Drussuimeri

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji kemampuan spesies dari kelas Bivalvia terhadap tingkat pencemaran air laut yang merupakan masalah klasik dan tidak pernah ada habisnya. Tidak hanya itu, hewan bercangkang (Bivalvia) ini pun mampu menyaring kandungan logam berbahaya dari komponen baja paduan yang memiliki tingkat racun sangat tinggi yang sering terkandung dalam limbah pabrik, yaitu merkuri. Namun, mungkin juga tidak semua spesies dari kelas Bivalvia memiliki kemampuan yang sama dalam menyerap atau menyaring air laut. Bagi nelayan, mereka hanya perlu mencari kerang kemudian hasilnya dikumpulkan ke pengepul lalu dijual, tanpa mereka ketahui betapa pentingnya kemampuan kerang ini bagi ekosistem, terutama dalam kemampuannya menyaring air laut yang tercemar. Berdasarkan latar belakang masalah tersebut, peneliti bertujuan untuk menguji secara langsung dan melihat kemampuan beberapa spesies yang umum atau terkenal yang banyak ditemukan oleh nelayan di pantai timur provinsi Sumatera Utara. Pengujian akan dilakukan secara langsung terhadap 10 jenis kerang yang banyak dijumpai di pantai timur Sumut yaitu Kerang Besar, Kerang Batik/Salome, Kerang Biru, Kerang Kapak, Kerang Kecil, Kerang Belang/Tiger, Kerang Panjang, Merak Kerang, Kemudi Kapal Kerang, Kerang Mutiara. Ke-10 jenis kerang tersebut dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan jumlah terbesar dan ukuran cangkang terbesar. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan teknik analisis Duncan One Way Anova atau Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Pengujian sampel akan dilakukan pada air laut di Pantai Mangrove Percut Sei Tuan. Hasil pengujian akan memberikan kesimpulan mengenai implikasi atau keterlibatan Bivalvia dalam membantu mengatasi pencemaran air laut dan pengaruhnya terhadap ekosistem dan manusia yang mengkonsumsinya. Hasil penelitian ini juga akan bermanfaat sebagai acuan dan sumber acuan penelitian selanjutnya untuk penelitian selanjutnya dalam menggali potensi bioindikator dari filum invertebrata lainnyaKata Kunci : Implikasi, Bivalvia, Biofilter, Pencemaran, Paluh Merbau

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media that can be used by natural science teachers in SD Negeri 050778 by referring to RND-based media development methods (Research and Development) which will later use descriptive analysis methods and development methods. In making Blended Learning media where this media is in the form of learning videos using the Camtasia and Wondershare Quiz Creator application contains recorded video clips and questions about how to sample species, species diversity, and species collection techniques from Phylum Arthropods at SD Negeri 050778 Kampai Langkat Island, North Sumatra. The purpose of this research is descriptive analysis which is to obtain data on the diversity of the Artrhopoda Phylum from the Crustacean class which is very numerous and easily found around the coast of the island of Kampai. Crustacean diversity data obtained were analyzed using species abundance analysis method. Then the learning video development data will then be tested on students and science teachers as a test sample. From the field results found 8 dominant species of the Decapoda Order, including the Mangrove Crab (Scylla serrate), tiger shrimp (Panaeus monodon), Lobster Shrimp (Panulirus sp.), Ghost Crab (Ocypode kuhlii), Crab Uca Viola (Uca vocans) , Uca Petarung Crab (Uca annulipes), Centipede Shrimp (Squilla mantis), Klomang (Bernhardus Pagurus). From the three stations where Crustacea species sampling locations were obtained a diversity index of 0.85% at Station 1 with Species dominance, namely Centipede Shrimp, then 1.76% at Station II with Species dominance, namely Klomang (Pagurus bernhardus), and 0 , 43% with species dominance, namely Shrimp Prawn (Panaeus monodoni). From the analysis calculations of 30 students the results of a large group trial for development data are: (a) a group of 30 students an average of 97.85% (very decent), (2) Science Teacher Test Data of 87% (feasible category).

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) recognize fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster), 2) morphologically distinguish adult fruit fly sex, 3) study the growth of fruit fly populations. The practicum was held on August 20, 2019 in the Biology Education Laboratory FKIP UISU. The working principle of practicum is making food as a medium for fruit fly culture (a mixture of bananas, cassava tape, benzoate), etherization and observation, observing the growth of fruit fly populations. Observations were made by counting the number of live flies and dead flies, the sex ratio of flies. Observations were carried out every day, for 15 days (20 August 2019 - 3 September 2019). The results of the analysis show that: 1) population growth of Drosophila melanogaster includes logistic growth models with S-shaped curves, 2) sex of adult fruit flies can be morphologically distinguished through body size, abdominal shape, genital comb and external genital organs in the abdomen. Based on the results and discussion, the following conclusions are obtained: 1) fruit flies including insects undergoing perfect metamorphosis (egg phase, larvae, pupa, imago), 2) differences in adult fruit fly sex can be seen from body size, abdomen shape, presence of genital comb, external genital organs in the abdomen, 3) population growth of fruit flies including logistic growth models in the form of S curves, influenced by environmental factors

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are significant differences between student learning outcomes using media concept maps and Audio-Visual media on educational statistics material in the Biology Education Study Program by teaching using concept map media and Audiovisual media. This type of research is experimental research. The sample in this study was only 1 class, 32 students. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that student learning outcomes use audio-visual media rather than teaching using concept maps, where obtained 𝑋̅1 = 7.806 and SD 𝑋̅1 = 0.788 for Audiovisual Media, while for conventional teaching obtained 𝑋̅2 = 6.333 and SD 𝑋̅2 = 2.224 While the percentage the increase in student learning outcomes of the experimental class was 35.12% and the percentage of the control class increased by 32.20%. The results of data analysis showed t hit> t table (5.43> 2.00). So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of audio-visual media on learning outcomes in biology statistical material for the fourth semester of the Biology Education Study Program.

Abstract

Pematang Kuala Village is one of the villages in the Mengkudu Bay District which has an area of almost 80% of which is mangrove forest. The existence of the Mangrove Forest is very important in addition to being a source of livelihood for the population, most of whom are fishermen, its function is also to protect coastal areas from increasingly severe coastal abrasion. The mangrove forest in this village is a mangrove forest that is managed jointly by the community to meet the needs of the community. Most of the village areas that are not mangrove forests are now converted into oil palm plantations or ponds which can damage mangrove ecosystems and coastal areas. This study aims to analyze the level of abundance, biomass, diversity and potential of fauna, distribution patterns of mangrove plants and fauna as well as the effect of conversion of mangrove diversity and the components contained therein on planted areas in the mangrove area to obtain data in Pematang Kuala Village, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Be different. This research was conducted from January to March 2022. The study used data analysis techniques for diversity and abundance of the Shanon Winner index. There were 11 Mangrove species in total which were obtained at 3 research sites. Each research station is divided into 3 data collection, namely Trees, Trunks, and Seedlings. The highest diversity index was found in trees at station 1, which was 2.52%. and the lowest index is station 2 tree type was 0.15%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether G-Suite (Google Learning Application) is effective in student online lectures and can provide a good and efficient academic atmosphere during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research approach uses quantitative with a quasi-experimental type. The data collection technique was carried out through the distribution of online surveys to all students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, North Sumatra Islamic University (UISU) who learned to use the G-Suite during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the calculation results obtained that t-count of 2,901. After being consulted with the t-table at a significance level of 5% and db 68 of 1.990, it turns out that the t-count is greater than the t-table (2.901 > 1.990) so that Ho which reads there is no difference in student outcomes between groups of students taught using the G-Suite and groups of students who were taught without using the G-Suite media have been successfully rejected. Thus, Ha, which reads that there is a significant difference in lecture learning outcomes between groups of students who are taught using G-Suite media and groups of students who are taught without using G-Suite media.
