Abstract

This activity aims to provide training and technology packages for improving the maintenance system, knowledge of feed ingredients, technology for producing duck feed based on local feed, restricted feeding. The ultimate goal of this activity is to increase egg production, productivity, feed cost efficiency in the context of developing and increasing farmers' income while forming / developing economically independent partner groups. This activity was carried out in Tanjung Haro Selatan, Luak District, 50 Kota Regency, West Sumatra. The partner involved in this activity is the "Duck Farmer Group "Usaha Baru" which reared egg and meat ducks. The methods used in this service program are counseling, demonstration, training, coaching and provision of technology packages, as well as observation and evaluation and data collection to measure the success parameters of the program being carried out. Based on the implementation of the community service, farmers were very enthusiastic in participating in this activity, almost 80% percent of farmers understand feeding management according to the needs of duck feed based on age level both in quality and quantity. the quality of the rations prepared by the farmer is not sufficient for the nutritional needs of ducks. Increasing egg production can be done by preparing duck rations by increasing animal protein and mineral levels in the ration. Increasing the income of duck farmers can be done by reducing production costs with rations prepared by farmers themselves sourced from local feed ingredients at a price of Rp. 6000, -.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of school facilities on students' learning abilities and motivation at Al Ulum Integrated Middle School, Medan. With a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document review. Facilities available at the school include air-conditioned classrooms, computer laboratories, libraries, mosques and sports fields. The research results show that school facilities have a very important role in supporting the learning process.Adequate facilities, such as classrooms equipped with projectors and air conditioning, can improve students' concentration and understanding of the lesson material. These findings confirm that adequate facilities not only support academic aspects, but also play an important role in building students' intrinsic motivation. Therefore, improving the quality and accessibility of educational facilities is very important to create a conducive learning environment. It is hoped that this research can provide valuable input for schools and stakeholders in efforts to improve the quality of education. Keywords: school; facilities ;learning; motivation

Abstract

Numerous online translation tools are available today to assist academic works. This study aimed to explore English students’ insights regarding two most popular translation tools, namely DeepL Translation and Google Translate in terms of accuracy, naturalness, grammar, context understanding, terminology translation, speed, language pairs, and additional features of both tools. This research is descriptive qualitative. Thirty English students of Universitas Serambi Mekkah filled in a Likert-scale questionnaire comprising 10 items. Their responses were analyzed using Thematic Analysis. The findings showed that most participants agreed that DeepL Translation is more accurate and natural than Google Translate in rendering academic texts (58.1% and 68.8%, respectively). DeepL is also believed to have better grammar accuracy (56.3%), excels at deciphering context and language nuances (64.5%), and is faster than Google Translate (71%). Despite numerous advantages of DeepL, Google Translate is deemed superior by 68.8% participants in terms of additional features, such as voice translation, image translation, document translation, and more language pairs (61.3%), offering more advantages than DeepL. A majority of the students (67.7%) also prefer to continue using DeepL to Google Translate. This research can benefit EFL learners and academicians who require using such Neural Machine Translations for the execution of academic tasks.

Abstract

Family economic pressure is a significant predictor of stress, anxiety, and depression in individuals and can affect family relationships as a whole. Factors such as poverty and unemployment are identified as the main causes of economic pressure, so appropriate interventions such as family counseling and economic assistance programs are crucial to help families develop effective coping skills and improve their well-being. This study uses a literature approach through books, articles, journals, and other previous research to examine the impact of economic pressure on the mental health of family members. The results show that family economic pressure has a significant impact on individual mental health and family relationships, and highlights the importance of appropriate interventions to reduce the negative impacts. The findings of this study have important implications for the development of policies and programs aimed at reducing the negative impacts of economic pressure on the mental health of family members.

Abstract

Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) examination in improving balance and preventing the risk of falls in the elderly. The elderly are an age group that is vulnerable to decreased body function, one of which is balance disorders that can increase the risk of falls. Falls in the elderly can have serious impacts such as injury, decreased quality of life, and even death. Balance examination and evaluation are very important to prevent the risk of falls. One of the effective and widely used measuring tools is the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), which assesses balance ability through 14 functional activity items. This study aims to evaluate the role of BBS in detecting balance disorders and as a basis for physiotherapy interventions to improve postural stability in the elderly. The results of the study indicate that periodic use of BBS can help identify elderly people with high risk of falls and monitor balance progress after intervention. Thus, BBS is an important tool in fall prevention strategies and improving the quality of life of the elderly. Conclusion: the use of the Berg Balance Scale is not only effective in assessing balance status, but also as a tool for monitoring the results of physiotherapy interventions in the elderly. Periodic use of BBS is recommended as part of a fall prevention program in health care facilities or elderly communities.

Abstract

The distribution of probability, also known as the distribution of random variables, is a part of the Statistics course material. This study aims to describe the mathematical representation skills of students on the topic of probability distribution, based on the fact that many students struggle to understand this material. This study uses a descriptive method. The subjects of this research are 12 students from Muhammadiyah University of Jambi. Data in this study were collected through written tests. The data were analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The results of the study indicate that students' abilities to work on probability distribution material are still considered low. Therefore, there is a need for teaching methods that can help students understand better and achieve better results.
