Abstract

The research departs from the widespread phenomenon of ḥadīth posting on WhatsApp on the reading Qs. al-Kahf every Friday (narrated by al-Nasā’i, al-Dārimī, al-Bayhaqī, and others). This posting activity regularly runs every Thursday night. Two primary questions addressed are: first, on the validity of the ḥadīth; and second, on how does the posting activity explain a phenomenon of digital piety. By using a multidisciplinary approach of ḥadīth, virtual ethnography and hermeneutics, this study argues that there is no agreement among scholars regarding the ḥadīth validity, whether it is the saying of prophet or the companions (mawqūf), and whether reading the Qs. al-Kahf is recommended or not. The phenomenon of ḥadīth posting also describes a contemporary religious formation and social media development, especially among the millennial generation of Malang. The activity of posting the ḥadīth on their WhatsApp status becomes concrete evidence on how religiosity experiences the process of virtualization. This phenomenon signifies a new bonding space for digital piety, which is used to be found in offline sphere.   Penelitian ini berangkat dari sebuah fenomena maraknya aktivitas posting status hadis di media sosial WhatsApp tentang keutamaan membaca Qs. al-Kahf pada setiap Jumat (hadis riwayat al-Nasā’i, al-Dārimī, al-Bayhaqī dan lain-lain). Aktivitas posting ini, berjalan secara rutin setiap menjelang malam Jumat. Terdapat dua persoalan utama yang dikaji dalam tulisan ini, pertama: tentang keabsahan dan autentisitas hadis tersebut; kedua, tentang bagaimana aktivitas posting hadis tersebut menjelaskan fenomena kesalehan digital. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan multidisiplin, yaitu ilmu hadis, etnografi virtual dan hermeneutika, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pada dasarnya tidak ada kata sepakat di kalangan ulama terkait hadis tersebut, baik terkait statusnya apakah sampai kepada Nabi atau hanya pendapat sahabat (mawqūf), termasuk pula dalam memahami kesunahannya. Selain itu, fenomena posting hadis dalam tema ini pada dasarnya menggambarkan pola keberagamaan kontemporer yang beriringan dengan perkembangan media sosial, terutama di kalangan generasi milenial kota Malang. Aktivitas posting status hadis ini pada akun WhatsApp menjadi bukti konkrit bagaimana religiusitas mulai mengalami fase virtualisasi. Implikasi dari fenomena ini adalah terciptanya ruang ikatan baru kesalehan digital seperti biasa dijumpai pada ruang offline.

Abstract

Two impressions emerging from wearing a niqab (face veil), i.e., piety and radicalism, are deeply embedded in public perception. The obligation to wear the niqab for female students at an Islamic boarding school known to be moderate and cultural, such as the Mambaush Sholihin Islamic Boarding School, is an interesting issue to study. In this current study, the empirical legal method was used, based on the theory of the living Qur’an and Islamic law. Data collection techniques included in-depth interview, literature review, and focus group discussion. The findings reveal that in the opinions of the Islamic boarding school caretakers, the use of the niqab at Mambaush Shalihin does not lead to an exclusive attitude, but rather to code of conduct, that limits the interaction between men and women. However, some students respond to this conduct differently and they view it as a form of coercion, giving rise to an attitude of resistance expressed when they are outside the school, whereas others still prioritize an attitude of obedience and submission to the kyai. On the other hand, some people in the public perceive this as a form of change in the Islamic boarding school towards radicalism while others believe that the school remain on the principles of the moderate teachings of Ahl Sunnah wal Jamaah. In practice, wearing the niqab at Mambaush Shalihin is a form of the Living Qur’an in relation to the command to cover the awrah(private parts) for women. Meanwhile, according to Islamic law, the law on wearing the veil is different among the scholars of the four schools of thought. This article argues that the use of the veil in Islamic boarding schools is not affiliated with a particular madhhab but rather aims to discipline female students who study in the same room as male students. This is indicated by the non-obligation to wear any face veil for female students who have not yet studied in college, i.e., junior and senior high school levels.

Abstract

Banyaknya pertumbuhan lembaga keuangan di masyarakat menjadikan persaingan yang ketat terhadap jasa keuangan yang diperlukan masyarakat. Terjadinya persaingan yang ketat koperasi syariah harus menyusun strategi yang efektif agar menumbuhkan minat masyarakat dan kepercayaan akan jasa keuangan di masyarakat strategi promosi merupakan strategi yang penting dalam pengenalan produk koperasi syariah agar dapat dikenal oleh masyarakat. Jenis penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah penelitian lapangan (field research) yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, sumber data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi (mengamati kegiatan KSPPS Al-hasanah), wawancara (pengurus dan pengawas) dan dokumentasi (bukti pendukung yang di dapatkan di lapangan). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa simpanan pokok, simpanan wajib, wadiah, wakaf, pembiayaan Ijarah multijasa dan murabahah telah sesuai dengan tuntunan fatwah DSN dan ekonomi islam dan pada pelaksanaanya tidak mengandung maisyir, gharar, haram, riba dan sebagainya. Strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan KSPPS Al-hasanah Entalsewu dalam meningkatkan minat anggota terhadap produknya strategi pemasaran konsep 7P (Produk, Promosi, Harga, Tempat, Proses, Orang, dan faktor pendukung) yang mana pada promosi sosialisasi dan edukasi berefektif terhadap peningkatan anggota yang mayoritas kurang akan pemahaman koperasi syariah dan produknya.

Abstract

Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (Hamka) is widely recognized as a leading Muslim intellectual of 20th-century Indonesia, renowned for his extensive body of work, including both novels and Qur'anic exegesis. His tafsir has been the subject of considerable scholarly interest across Asia. The Qur'an contains numerous verses concerning the Jews, and as an exegete of the entire 30 juz of the Qur'an, Hamka offers a distinct interpretation of these verses. The 20th century was a period marked by significant global political upheaval, notably the establishment of Israel in 1948. The creation of the Israeli state had profound consequences for Muslims worldwide, intensifying anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist, and anti-Israel sentiments, which also permeated discourse in the United States and the United Kingdom. Within this context, several Islamic scholars began to integrate European concepts found in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," a document that portrays Jews as malevolent and conspiratorial figures. These ideas gradually infiltrated the field of Qur'anic exegesis, including Indonesian works, most prominently Hamka's Tafsir Al-Azhar, first published in 1965. Before this period, the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" had not influenced Qur'anic interpretation. This paper seeks to critically analyze the theme of Jewish conspiracy in Hamka's tafsir by tracing the origins of his arguments, identifying the presence of conspiratorial elements in his exegesis, and examining the extent to which Hamka's views converge with those of Sayyid Qutb. The study employs a library-based literature review utilizing a descriptive-analytical and critical approach. The findings reveal that Hamka strongly adheres to the conspiracy theory espoused in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," depicting Jews as aiming to establish a new world order, dominate the global economy, and control Hollywood and the media. Moreover, Hamka's interpretations are significantly shaped by Sayyid Qutb's concepts of Jahiliyyah (ignorance) and Hakimiyyah (sovereignty).

Abstract

Abstract: This study is driven by a reality showing a social communication in a factual Fiqh interpretation between Muslim and non-Muslim in the Qur’an. Therefore, the question that needs to be answered is “how the fiqh interpretation can depict the social communication between Muslims and non-Muslims in the Qur’an?” This is a qualitative study, which is also a library study, and the whole data source is a written documentation. This study has depicted the social communication occurred between Muslims and non-Muslims through the Qur’an. The Qur’an mentioned that Islam and Muslim are parts of a belief, but it also mentions about non-Muslim in a samawi scope, which are Yahudi, Nasrani and Ahl al-Kitab. The social communication between Muslims and non-Muslims is also detected in the Qur’an comprising topics like knowing each other, conducting a convention of peace, and a more lenient relationship with the Christians because of the same origin and an equivalent dialog with the believers of Ahl al-Kitab in a topic that doubts the Oneness of Allah the Almighty.Keywords: social communication, fiqh tafsîr, Qur’anic exegesis, Muslim, Non-Muslim

Abstract

This article departs from the reality of the presence of an audiovisual interpretation, "Lebah menurut al- Qur‟an dan Sains" by the Lembaga Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur‟an (Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an Institute) of the Ministry of Religion in Indonesia have never been reviewed. In fact, with this interpretation, Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an Institute has produced and translated scientific interpretations of waf which are actually still polemic in the midst of observers of the study of the Quran. So, the question to be answered in this study is: "What is the social dimension in the audiovisual interpretation “Lebah menurut al-Qur‟an dan Sains?" This article is qualitative study with a type of literature study; a complete video containing documentation with primary material "Lebah menurut al-Qur‟an dan Sains” and supported with other written materials. This article shows two main things about the scientific interpretation of the discourse through video 'Lebah menurut al-Qur‟an dan Sains, "by Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an Institute so that it was not immediately accepted, firstly, by its role as an institution that has relations and the legitimacy of forces under the protection of state institutions. Second, the position held by Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an Institute is strengthened with the reality others they have asked for more to facilitate discourse for audiences; access with the support of important figures in and fully supported by access to support the sophistication of technology and information.

Abstract

Anti-Semitism in M. Quraish Shihab's Interpretation of verses about Jews in Tafsir al-MisbahThis article aims to analyze more deeply the issue of anti-Semitism in the interpretation of the Qur'an Quraish Shibah. Seeing the growing movement of adherents of the Jewish religion in Indonesia and the emergence of a survey from the Wahid Foundation that Indonesian Muslims do not like Judaism, it is necessary to have an in-depth study regarding the interpretation of Indonesian figures towards Jewish verses in the Koran. Quraish Shihab apart from being an intellectual figure in Indonesia who has a complete commentary of 30 chapters, he is also one of Indonesia's political figures. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of Judaism needs to be explored to track and analyze more deeply whether there are elements of anti-Semitism in his interpretation, seeing that he is one of the intellectual and political figures of Indonesian Muslims. To reveal the interpretation of Quraish Shihab, the descriptive-analytical method is the guideline in this article. After carrying out the analysis, it was found that Tafsir al-Misbah still has a strong impression of anti-Semitism, although it does not apply equally to all adherents of the Jewish religion. Regarding the characteristics revealed by Quraish in describing the Jews, namely: often playing against each other, jealous, and often committing lies, and aspiring for Muslims to embrace Judaism

Abstract

Economic empowerment is one of the strategies to improve the economy and equalize the economy in all regions of Indonesia. This empowerment concept aims to support Indonesian people to be productive and valid for the long term and sustainably. Economic empowerment through waqf investment is a concept that can have a positive impact on development. society, especially in the social and economic fields of economic empowerment in Indonesia, Waqf itself is a donation or property given by individuals or groups for the public interest. Waqf investment has great potential to empower the economy through various projects that support holistic community development. It is important to involve various parties, including the government, financial institutions, and the community, in the planning and implementation of waqf investment projects. This research took data samples from one of the waqf management institutions, namely Dompet Dhuafa and managed using qualitative methods. This research aims to educate and provide in-depth literacy regarding Indonesian economic empowerment through waqf investments managed by Dompet Dhuafa. Abstract

Dowry is a mandatory gift from a man to a woman after performing a marriage contract. The determination of dowry is often based on symbolic aspects such as adjusting the dowry to a certain nominal fraction according to the wedding date or other dates that are considered sacred. This phenomenon triggered the Marriage Registrar at the Bojonegoro Religious Affairs Office to reject the dowry on the grounds that the dowry with a certain nominal fraction contained elements of waste and futility. This attracts researchers to study and study more deeply the analysis of Islamic law on the rejection of nominal fractional dowry according to a certain date at the Bojonegoro Religious Affairs Office (KUA). The results of this study show that the reason why the Marriage Registrar (VAT) of KUA Bojonegoro refused, is because in the dowry there is a nominal fraction that has no value and has no benefit so that it seems to be symbolic. In addition, how to get the nominal denomination money by buying and selling that contains elements of usury. In addition, the acquisition of the dowry is considered difficult. The refusal made can be punished as mubah (permissible) according to Islamic Law because in its practice in the dowry there are fractions that are not valuable and useful and contain riba so that they do not meet the valid conditions for dowry that have been explained in Islamic Law.

Abstract

This study tries to analyze the efforts of Islamic online media in constructing the discourse of delegitimation of nationalism, with the case study of eramuslim.com. With the constructivism paradigm, the ulumu Alqur'an, and critic of Sanad Hadith criticism, through the content analysis of articles in the media over a period of eight years, the results of the study show that the construction model of the discourse of delegitimation of nationalism used by eramuslim.com is a literal or denotative interpretation of the quranic verses and hadith which are considered to have a correlation with the problem of nationalism, as well as criticism of the nationalism system as a divisive people and ideology of fanaticism. There are also symptoms of strengthening the romanticism of religion in Islamic online media, along with symptoms of the obscurity of who has the right to talk about a particular issue.
