Abstract

Provision of government assistance to the SISKA (integration of cattle and oilpalm) program has encouraged farmers to form groups. One component of the aid was the communal stall which is a joint enclosure developed in one location. The development of communal stalls is not always successfully maintained by the groups. This study aimed to analyze the perception of SISKA farmers on the role of extension as well as the driving and inhibiting factors of the extension role. The study was conducted in Kecamatan Pangkalan Lesung and Kerumutan Subdistrict of Pelalawan District based on the existence of 11 groups of farmers who still apply SISKA. The analytical method used was perception analysis by average scoring method and perceptual mapping by spiderweb graph. Sampling was conducted by census in 11 farmer groups with a total of 125 members (38 farmers who applied individual stalls and 87 farmers who applied communal stalls). The results showed that the perception towards extension of farmers applying communal stalls was in “good”category, while the perception of farmers applying individual stalls was in “less good” category. The role of extension workers in both systems that has not been functioning was in facilitating farmers to partner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility and sensitivity to price changes of the input and output of siamese orange Usaha Yakin Maju farming in Pulau Jambu Village Kuok District Kampar Regency. Usaha Yakin Maju is one of the farms that has been cultivating siamese orange since 2009 until now. This research uses the case study method. Reaserch data consist of primary data and secondary data. Data analysis was perfomed using four investment criteria, namely Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Payback Period (PP). The results showed that business activities carried out by Usaha Yakin Maju were financially feasible, indicated by a positive business NPV value of Rp.8.185.854.454,-, the Net B/C value is greater than one, which is 6,29, the IRR value is greater than the Social Opportunity Cost of Capital (SOCC) is 43,73%, and the Paybak Period value is smaller than the age of the business, which is 4 years 9 months. The results of the sensitivity analysis to the increase in pesticide prices by 10%, a decrease in prices of Siamese oranges by 20%, and a decrease in the number of Siamese citrus production by 20% will reduce NPV, IRR, Net B/C, and PP but remain at the same level acceptable, indicate that this business is still financially feasible.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility and sensitivity to changes in input prices, output prices and the amount of production of cocoa farmers in the Prima Jaya Farmers Group. Prima Jaya Farmers Group is a cocoa farmer group that was formed in 2016. This research uses a case study method, the research data consists of primary data and secondary data. The feasibility data analysis was carried out using three investment criteria, namely Net Presen Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The results of the study concluded that the business activities carried out by farmers in the Prima Jaya Farmer Group were financially feasible, this was indicated by a positive NPV value of Rp. 105.097.456. The IRR value is higher than the discount rate, which is 26.65%, the Net B/C value is 3,70. The results of the sensitivity analysis based on changes in input prices by 10%, a decrease in the price of cocoa beans by 49,21% and a decrease in the amount of cocoa production by 49,15% indicate that cocoa farming carried out by farmers in the Prima Jaya Farmer Group is still financially feasible.

Abstract

Phosphorous (P) is one of plant nutrient needed by plant in much amount as it is called as macro essential plant nutrient. This element, P, has complete problems. It is not only found in a small amount in soil compared to other nutrients, but it also has some problems in soil if it is there. At acid soils such as Ultisols, phosphorous is binded by aluminium (Al) and iron (Fe), while in basic soils it is held by calcium (ca) and magnesium (Mg). Therefore, both in acid soils or basic soils P is not available for plant growth. A research about P-fertilizer use efficiency for chilli (Capsicum annum) on intensification land which was added organic matter (OM) using P-32 technique was conducted in glasshouse and soil laboratory of Agricultural Faculty, and in laboratory of center for research utilizing nuclear science and technique (P3IN) Andalas University Limau Manis Padang from 1996 to 1997. The objective of this research was to measure P-fertilizer use efficiency (FUE) by chili on horticulture intensification area (on Andisols) as affected by organic matter. This research was designed as completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors those were TSP (consisting of 0, 25, and 50 kg P2O5/ha) and OM especially chicken manure (consisting of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 ton/ha) by 3 replications. The results showed that plant dry matter became higher by decreasing P-fertilizer added but was not significantly affected by manure. P-fertilizer (P-32) uptake by plants was not significantly affected by P-fertilizer and manure aapplication, therefore P-FUE decreased by increasing P-fertilizer added and tended to increase by increasing dosage of manure applied. Key words: fixed-P, available-P, desorpted-P, FUE, P-32 technique

Abstract

A research about organic matter role on P desorption in Andisol was conducted in soil laboratory of Agricultural Faculty, Andalas University Limau Manis Padang. The objective of this research was to find out the ability of organic matter to change retained- or fixed-P into available-P in Andisols. This research was designed as completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 levels of chicken manure consisting of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 ton/ha by 3 replications. Based on laboratory analysis, the soil (Andisols) had pH 5.65, OC 2.33%, N-total 0.26%, available-P 56.94 ppm, and potential-P 60.38 mg/100 g soil. While chicken manure had OC 21.45%, total-N 5.60%, total-P 33.19 mg/100g and C/N ratio 3.83. The results showed that desorpted-P increased by increasing amount of chicken manure applied. Key words: fixed-P, available-P, desorpted-P

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to analyse the financial feasibility of Bina Karya’s onion stick agroindustry business and to know sensitivity rate of Bina Karya’s onion stick agroindustry business in Rengat District Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research used case studymethod. The financial feasibility analysis of onion stick agroindustry business used investment criterias, such as: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C). The result showed that onion stick agroindustry business feasible to developed based on its investment criterias, which showed that NPV was Rp. 482.206.098 (positive), IRR value was 53% (IRR more than DF 12%), and Net B/C value was 3,29 (Net B/C more than 1). The result of sensitivity analysis by the raw material price increase, such as the flour price increase (wheat and tapioca flour) at the rate of 7% impact to NPV is Rp. 466.222.711 (positive) and the onion and garlic price increase (garlic at the rate of 112% and onion at the rate of 110%) impact to NPV is Rp. 381.852.159(positive). Other result of sensitivity analysis by decrease ofproduction scale more than 23% showed that this agroindustry business not feasible to develop because NPV is negative value,  IRR smaller than DF 12 %, and NetB/C value smaller than 1.   Keywords: Agroindustry, Financially Analysis,Sensitivity Analysis
