External and internal factors have been affecting the university students to master speaking skills continuously; as a result, most of them face obstacles in communicating and expressing their ideas through spoken English. This research examines whether the flipped classroom method's use improves students' speaking ability and enhances students' engagement at the University of Iqra Buru. A true experimental pretest-posttest control group design was used in this study. A total of 82 students from two different faculties took as the samples based on the purposive sampling technique, then they divided into two groups, each consisting of 41 people based on a simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was a rubric of a speaking test and a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using inferential statistics through the paired sample and independent-sample t-test. The questionnaire's result was analyzed using a Likert Scale to determine the frequency of student engagement.

ABSTRACTThe audiobook does not only involves multiple senses of the students, but also the inclusion of its speech, helping them to improve their comprehension. This study sought to investigate the effects' of audiobook on students' reading comprehension, and to find out students' interest in audiobooks on the teaching of reading. The mixed method called the Quan-qual model applied at this study. Some sixty eleventh-grade students participated, and data were collected by employing reading comprehension tests and questionnaires (open-ended questions). The quantitative data analyzed using paired and independent sample t-test through SPSS 20 Version, and the qualitative data analyzed through an open-coding technique. The use of audiobook was more effective than the non-audiobook. It is proven by the comparison of the mean score from both of the groups which (68.00 ˃ 48.80). The p-value in the post-test is .000, and the level of significance is α 0.05, the p-value is smaller than α (.000<0.05). The hypothesis testing found that t-value = 14.699 was higher than t-table = 2.045 (p=.000, df=29); it means that Ha was accepted, and Ho was rejected. Another, the students are interested in using audiobooks because it stimulating, challenging, available, powerful and innovative in the reading activity. ABSTRACTIndonesia is prone to being affected by hoaxes because the number of internet accesses reaches more than 50 percent of Indonesia's population. The impact of the distribution of hoax content is relatively diverse. Starting from causing anxiety and fear in some community groups to becoming national attention through mass media coverage. This study aims to determine how the Covid-19 hoax effect for iGeneration in Buru Regency. This research is a field research. The population in this study were students of Universitas Iqra Buru, Buru Regency, Maluku. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data that has been collected is analyzed based on the effect theory and mass communication function to determine the effects of hoax news. The results showed that the hoax issues that most circulated on social media during the Covid-19 pandemic were SARA hoaxes, health hoaxes, and politics hoaxes. Based on the research results, it can be seen that there is a tendency for SARA hoaxes and political hoaxes to have an affective effect on the community, especially for iGeneration in Buru Regency. Health hoaxes tend to have a conative effect on the community. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari sebaran konten hoaks itu relatif beragam. Mulai dari menimbulkan keresahan dan ketakutan di sebagian kelompok masyarakat hingga menjadi perhatian nasional melalui pemberitaan media massa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah efek hoaks covid-19 bagi iGeneration di Kabupaten Buru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas Iqra Buru, Kabupaten Buru, Maluku. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan teori efek dan fungsi komunikasi massa untuk mengetahui efek berita hoaks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan isu hoaks yang paling banyak beredar di media sosial selama pandemi Covid-19 adalah hoaks SARA, kesehatan, dan politik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terlihat adanya kecenderungan hoaks SARA dan hoaks politik memberi efek afektif kepada masyarakat, khususnya bagi iGeneration di Kabupaten Buru. The Presence of Podcasts is such an interesting technology to facilitate language learner development. The online or offline accessibility through a smartphone or laptop offer convenience, learning anytime and everywhere. The Audios and videos enable students for their learning accelerations .This study aimed to study the influence of podcasts as technology for Students’ English Vocabulary mastery, and to investigate the students’ responses towards podcasts. This research employed quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The Participants were 60 Students of SMA Negeri 2 Buru grade XII IIS, Namlea, Buru , Maluku Province. Data related to student’s vocabulary mastery were collected by implementing pre-test, post-test, and distributing questionnaires to find out students' responses towards the use of Podcast Technology. Pre-test and post-test were conducted for .The 60 participants were then classified into 30 Students of Experimental Group. Moreover, 30 Students of Control Group .The data collected were then analyzed using IBM SPSS. The mean score resulted from the experimental group were 52.83 in the pretest and reached 63.83 in the Post Test, while the mean score resulted from Control Group were 50.5 in the Pre-Test and 55.33 in Post Test. The results indicated that the vocabulary mastery of the students in both groups was developed, however the experimental group, which implemented podcast, showed the higher improvement than non-podcast. The difference score between both groups was 8.5. The students also showed the positive responses toward the utility of podcast in teaching and learning processes.

Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah berupa pelatihan berbasis teori dan praktik komunikasi pemasaran terpadu berbasis online dengan tiga tahap, yakni tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Sasaran pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, yaitu para pelaku usaha minyak kayu putih Desa Sawa, Kecamatan Lilialy, Kabupaten Buru. The study aims at exploring the speaking difficulties encountered by high school students and investigating the causes of such difficulties at Namlea , Buru Island The researcher implemented a descriptive qualitative method to describe the speaking difficulties found by high school students at Namlea, Buru Island . The researcher designed an interview to find the data and observed the students speaking. The interview was conducted for each student to investigate speaking difficulties and the causes of such difficulties. The results showed there some difficulties in faced by student in speaking due to some reasons such some students have inadequate English vocabulary, spelling pronunciation, problem. Students are lack grammatical understanding. This research also indicated several factors that cause the students difficulties, such as; Students’ paradigm, motivation, the lack of language environment support, few chances to practice speaking in the learning process.

This study aims to investigate the effect of hybrid learning on the development of students reading comprehension in English Social Studies Class X1C at SMA Negeri 1 Buru Namlea, Buru Island, Maluku Province. This research used a quantitative method by applying an Experimental design, , researchers observed two classes them divided them into the experimental group and the control group class. The findings show that the mean score of the student pre-test in the experimental group was 61.1667, and its standard deviation was 8.47749, while the mean score in the control group was 58.1667, and its standard deviation was 8.65869. The differences mean score between both groups was 3. after treatments were given, the mean score of both groups was significantly different. The mean score of the students post-test in the experimental group was 72.1667, with a standard deviation of 8.57858. On the other side, the mean score of the student post-test in the control group was 63.6667, with a standard deviation 7.30297. The difference in score between both groups was 9, and it means that the mean score of the experimental group is higher than the control group, It also indicates that there is no doubt the use of hybrid learning in reading class is highly effective to achieve learning goals.

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini, yakni memberikan edukasi dan sosialisasi dalam memahami bahaya, pencegahan, penularan, serta cara memutus mata rantai penyebaran covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah berupa edukasi dan sosialisasi gaya hidup bersih dan sehat untuk mengantisipasi penyebaran covid-19 dengan tiga tahap, yakni tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Sasaran pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, yaitu warga Dusun Bara RT 01, RW 03, Desa Namlea, Kecamatan Namlea, Kabupaten Buru. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah warga mendapatkan pengetahuan melalui tahap edukasi dan sosialisasi dalam bentuk pembagian pamflet, masker gratis, serta pembuatan tempat cuci tangan. Dari hasil edukasi dan sosialisasi tersebut, warga Dusun Bara RT 01, RW 03, Desa Namlea dapat mempraktekkan pola hidup bersih dan sehat, cara menggunakan masker, pengadaan tempat cuci tangan, menghindari kontak langsung dengan warga lain, mematuhi protokol kesehatan, mengetahui jenis masker sekali pakai dan jenis masker cuci ulang, menerapkan pola dan perilaku hidup sehat di masyarakat dengan mengkonsumsi makanan sehat secara seimbang.

Berbagai tindak kejahatan oleh para pemuda di Dusun Jiku Besar, Kampung Baru seperti pencurian, premanisme, berkelahi dengan teman, membolos sekolah, melihat atau menonton video dewasa, pemakaian obat-obatan terlarang., tawuran, penipuan, pencurian, serta alapan liar yang dilakukan per kelompok. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan edukasi GEPDANA (Gerakan Anti Narkoba) kepada pemuda di Kampung Baru, Dusun Jiku Besar, Desa Namlea. Metode yang digunakan dalam PKM ini adalah observasi langsung dengan pendekatan sosialisasi Edukasi GEPDANA di Kampung Baru, Dusun Jiku Besar, Desa Namlea. Jumlah peserta adalah 25 orang yang dilaksanakan selama tiga hari di Kampung Baru, Dusun Jiku Besar, Desa Namlea. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam lima tahap, yakni tahap define the problem, tahap analizing causes, tahap develop the plan, tahap implementation dan controlin, dan tahap evaluation. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Tahap Define the Problems. Terlihat adanya tindakan pencurian, perkelahian antarkelompok remaja, minum-minuman keras, penyalahgunaan narkotika, dan melakukan judi antarpemuda. 2) Tahap Analizing Causes. Beberapa gangguan yang dialami oleh masyarakat akibat dampak dari kenakalan para pemuda di Kampung Baru adalah merusak ketenteraman masyarakat, mengganggu ketertiban, mempengaruhi orang lain ke arah yang negatif, dan lain-lain. 3) Tahap Develop the Plan, yakni pemberian materi seperti Pengetahuan Dasar Narkoba, Pengasahan skill, Penguatan Kerohanian, dan Penguatan Budaya Lokal Pulau Buru. 4) Tahap Implementation dan Controling, yakni diharapkan para pemuda dapat menjadi manusia yang humanis dan bermanfaat di tengah-tengah masyarakat Kampung Baru. 5) Tahap evaluation, yakni adanya pendampingan dan pengontrolan kepada mitra sasaran (para pemuda di Kampung Baru).
