Abstract

Community service activities aim to improve the skills of group members in making broiler chicken feed in order to overcome the increasing price of feed. The solutions offered are through several methods, namely 1) approaching by discussing the problems faced by partner groups, 2) counseling and training for partner groups in Jan Village, South Ternate District. The results of the service activities of group members know the types of local materials and agricultural waste that can be used as a mixture of broiler chicken feed. Partners know and have been able to make feed from several local feed ingredients that are available for broilers with different growth phases. The results of observations showed that broiler chickens given a mixture of local feed ingredients showed good performance and farmers did not use antibiotics in their maintenance.

Abstract

Community Service Activities are a collaborative activity between the PKM team of the Faculty of Agriculture Unkhair and Partners, namely the FeedLot livestock group in Susupu Village, Sahu District, West Halmahera Regency. The problem with partners is that they do not know about feed processing technology. The purpose of this service is to build an independent farmer community, increase the knowledge of residents about how to make silage and synergize the potential of lecturers and students in carrying out community service. To achieve the goal of service, counseling and training in making silage are carried out. The activity was carried out in several stages, namely surveys, counseling and training and implementation. The results of service activities are that farmers respond very well, breeders can make silage and know the use of silage.

Abstract

This study examines the role of non-synthetic buffers from watermelon and papaya juice added to coconut water diluent on the liquid semen quality of Kacang goats during cold storage at 5oC for three months. An experimental method was used in which semen from a 2.5-year-old male was collected twice a week using an artificial vagina. The primary ingredients include young coconut water, Viridis, watermelon, papaya, NaHCO3, and Egg Yolk (KT). Furthermore, the observed variables were individual motility, viability, and abnormality. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK)) with 3 treatments and 10 replications, namely P0: Coconut Water + NaHCO3 + 10% KT, P1: Coconut Water + Watermelon Juice + 10% KT, and P2: Coconut Water + Papaya Juice + 10% KT. The data were analyzed using Variety Analysis. The results showed the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.01) on individual motility at all storage times, with the best motility up to 120 storage minutes with 61.00±3.16% at P1. Furthermore, the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.01) on viability at all storage times. The best treatment was P0 (72.24±5.28%), and the lowest was P2 (1.40±0.84%), with a shelf life of 120 minutes. The treatment had no effect (P>0.01) on abnormality at all storage times. It can be concluded that the use of watermelon and papaya juice as non-synthetic buffers in coconut water diluent on Kacang goat semen affects motility and viability but has no effect on abnormality.

Abstract

Lebah Trigona atau lebah tanpa sengat (Stingless bees) adalah lebah eusosial yang tesebar di hampir seluruh dunia. merupakan poninator karena membantu dalam penyerbukan tanaman, selain menghasilkan juga menghasilkan propolis. Madu dan propolis yang dihasilkan tergantung pada ketersediaan sumber pakan. Belum banyak dikenal dan diusahakan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui habitat dan sumber pakan lebah tanpa sengat. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Teknik pengumpulan data sarang digunakan adalah penjelajahan dan pengamatan dilapangan. Hasil penelitian adalah terdapat 2 jenis lebah tanpa sengat di Kampus Unkhair 4 Bangko dari family Apidae yaitu Tetragona Fuscobalteata dan Tetragonula Biroi . Sarang terdapat pada pohon yang masih hidup dan sudah mati. Temperature dan kelembaban diluar sarang berkisar antara 33-350C dan kelembaban 80-83%. Suhu di dalam sarang berkisar antara 28-320C dengan kelembaban 70-80,5%. Pakan lebah tanpa sengat sebanyak 28 jenis tumhan sebagai sumber pakan lebah trigona spp. Kata Kunci : Lebah tanpa sengat, Trigoa spp, pakan, Bangko

Abstract

Geographically, Hatebicara Village Jailolo District is located in the northern part of West Halmahera Regency and is a potential area for the development of agricultural and livestock commodities. owever, these farmer groups have not been able to process cow dung into organic fertilizer, and the traditional livestock farming system carried out by livestock farmer groups has resulted in low income for the husbandry businesses. The community service implementation team plays an active role in helping to improve the understanding and skills of farmer groups regarding optimal waste utilization through counseling, technical guidance, and demonstration plots with this Community Partnership Program PKM) activity. The community partnership program has been welcome and accepted by all group members and the rest community, and it was hoped to increase knowledge and understanding of organic fertilizer processing will have a positive impact on farmers' income.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuai pemberian silase kulit pisang terhadap produktifitas ternak kambing yang meliputi pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi dan konversi ransum. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor ternak Kambing yang berumur antar 4 sampai 6 bulan,dengan berat berkisar antara 10 kg. Pakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah hijauan dan silase kulit pisang serta ampas tahu sebagai konsentrat. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu R1 =  100% hijauan + Konsentrat, R2 = 75% hijauan + 25% silase + Konsentrat, R3 = 50% hijauan + 50% silase + Konsentrat, R4 = 25% hijauan + 75% silase + Konsentrat. Variabel yang diamati meliputi konsumsi, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum kambing kacang. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahwa Pemberian silase kulit pisang (Musa pariciae) sampai dengan 75% tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi dan konversi  ransum kambing kacang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan level optimal penggunaan ekstrak daun cengkeh (EDC) dalam memperbaiki dampak stres ayam broiler yang dipelihara pada kepadatan tinggi. Penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Produksi Ternak Unggas, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Khairun, Ternate. Sebanyak 444 ekor ayam broiler Lohmann (unsexed) dipelihara secara bersama dari umur 0 sampai 7 hari. Pada hari ke-8 ayam broiler (berat badan 129,78 0,75 g) ditempatkan secara acak menjadi lima perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak enam kali. Perlakuan adalah sebagai berikut: T0= kontrol negatif, kepadatan 10 ekor/m2 tanpa EDC, T1= kontrol positif, kepadatan 16 ekor/m2 tanpa EDC, T2= kepadatan 16 ekor/m2 dengan 0,5 ml EDC/kg pakan, T3= kepadatan 16 ekor/m2 dengan 0,75 ml EDC/kg pakan, dan T4= kepadatan 16 ekor/m2 dengan 1,0 ml EDC/kg pakan. Data berupa performa, kadar malondialdehid (MDA) dan superoxide dismutase (SOD) dianalisis berdasarkan ANOVA dan jika ada pengaruh perlakuan yang nyata dilanjutkan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa level optimal pemberian EDC adalah 1,0 ml /kg pakan dapat memperbaiki performa ayam broiler yang dipelihara pada kepadatan tinggi. Pemberian EDC sampai dengan 1,0 ml/kg dalam ransum dapat mengurangi tingkat stres pada ayam broiler yang dipelihara pada kepadatan tinggi yang ditandai dengan penurunan kadar MDA dan meningkatnya kadar SOD pada ayam broiler.(Use of clove leaf extract (Syzygium aromaticum) to improvement of the impact of stress on broilers raised at high density)ABSTRAK. The objective of this research was to investigate the optimal level of the use of clove leaf extract (CLE) in ameliorating the impact of stress on broilers reared at high density. The location of the study was at the Poultry Production Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Khairun University, Ternate. A total of 444 Lohmann broilers (unsexed) were reared together from 0 to 7 days of age. On day 7, broiler chickens (weight of 129.78 0.75 g) were grouped randomly into five treatment groups and six replications. The treatments were T0= negative control, density 10 birds/m2 without CLE, T1= positive control, 16 birds/m2 without CLE, T2= 16 birds/m2 with 0.5 ml CLE/kg feed, T3= 16 birds/m2 with 0.75 ml CLE/kg feed, and T4= 16 birds/m2 with 1.0 ml CLE/kg feed. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). If there was a significant treatment effect, there will be a further test by using Duncan's Test. The results showed that the administration of clove leaf extract up to 1.0 ml/kg of ration reduced stress and improved the performance of broiler chickens raised at high density.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik sarang mamoa dan penetasan eks-situ (penetasan diluar habitat) yang menggunakan mesin tetas (inkubator) dan in-situ (di dalam habitat) secara semi alami. Penelitian survei dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sarang dan percobaan laboratorium untuk menentukan tingkat keberhasilan penetasan di habitat semi-alami di pantai Uwo uwo Kecamatan Galela pada kedalaman yang berbeda (20, 40, 60, 80 dan 100 cm). Analisis data digunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis varian dalam program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik sarang peneluran pada habitat bertelur antara lain temperatur 31,88 1,58 0C, dan kelembaban 67,00 4,04%,. Diameter lubang 136,20 8,93 cm dan kedalaman lubang 58,17 4,3 cm dan tebal timbunan 67,97 4,33 cm, tingkat keberhasilan penetasan In-situ (semi alami) mencapai 100% pada kedalaman 20, 40, 60, 80 dan 100 cm dan Eks-situ (inkubator) hanya mencapai 75%.(Nest characteristics and hatching of mamoa bird egg (Eulipoa wallacei) in Galela District of North Halmahera)ABSTRACT. This study was conducted to identify the characteristics of mamoas nest as a basis for semi-natural and artificial hatching experiments. Survey study was to determine the characteristics of the nest (temperature, humidity) and experiments one was to determine the hatching success rate in semi-natural habitats on the beach of Uwo uwo Galela District where naturally Mamoa lays the eggs, at different depths (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 cm). Data analysis applied was descriptive analysis and multivariate test using SPSS computer program. Results of the study showed that in the natural nesting ground temperature of 31,88 1,58 oC, and humidity of 67,00 4,04%. The hole diameter of 136,20 8,93 cm and hole depth of 58,17 4,3 cm and the thick pile of 67,97 4,33 cm, hatching success rate of In-situ reached 100% at depths of 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 cm and ex-situ is only 75%.

Abstract

Training activities on making eco-enzymes have been carried out in Bobaneigo Madihutu Village, South Jailolo District, West Halmahera Regency with the aim of processing organic waste that is no longer used and disturbs the environment into a product that is useful and has economic value. Eco-enzyme is a liquid fermented organic waste which has various functions, including as a floor cleaner, vegetable and fruit cleaner, insect repellent and plant fertilizer. The event was attended by farmer groups and village officials. The activity began with a presentation about eco-enzymes and their benefits for society and the environment. The results of the activity show that the farmer group in Bobaneigo Village, Madihutu District, South Jailolo District, West Halmahera Regency has been able to process organic waste into eco-enzymes, thereby solving the waste problem and turning it into a valuable economic product. because it can be used as organic fertilizer.
