Abstract

One of the impacts of The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) on Indonesia is the change in the curriculum in the Indonesian education system. The curriculum that is implemented today, emphasizes students on 21st century skills and the change from teacher center to student center. The reality in the field, learning Physics in class  shows that teachers still approach directly and involve students less in the learning process so that students are less motivated in learning which makes learning outcomes low. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the problem based learning model with concept map on physics students achievement. This type of research is quasi experimental design. The instrument used in this study is a test instrument. The results showed that the average score of students in the experimental class of 63.88 was higher than the sample class of 59.21. Accompanied by quiz data, it also showed that the average score of the experimental class was higher than the control class at each meeting. The results of the hypothesis test obtained by the zcalculate >z table are 7.16>1.96 so that it can be said to reject Ho accept H1. Thus, the application of the PBL model accompanied by concept maps can be used and applied to students so that their learning outcomes increase

Abstract

The 21st century requires the world of education to adjust the development of science and technology in improving the quality of education. However, there are several factors that occur in the field. First factor, the use of technology is not optimal as a medium for learning physics. The second factor, physics learning has not been implemented as needed. The third factor, the low scientific literacy of students. Following up on this, technology-based learning media such as interactive multimedia containing scientific literacy are needed. The first step in creating the media is a needs analysis. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on interactive multimedia needs analysis containing scientific literacy in physics subjects at Padang City Public High School. This type of research is descriptive research. The population of this research is all Padang City Public High School. The sampling technique is stratified random sampling and lottery techniques. So that the samples were obtained from three Padang public high schools. Data collection techniques using learning style instruments and instruments for student and teacher needs. This study uses descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the student's learning style was 81%, the category was very high. The student's need for interactive multimedia containing scientific literacy is 97% very high category and the teacher's need for interactive multimedia containing scientific literacy is 100% very high category. The conclusion of this study is the need to develop interactive multimedia based on scientific literacy in physics subjects at Padang public high school.

Abstract

Education is a basic need that must be done by every human being. In education, the Discovery Learning model is one of the innovative and appropriate models used in physics learning because this model prioritizes student discovery of the knowledge gained. The identification of problems expressed include: 1) The application of the learning model is not yet fully perfect; 2) Some students do not provide feedback to the teacher who teaches; 3) Student learning outcomes are still fairly low; 4) Student errors in understanding physics material; 5) The mechanics material used is momentum and impulse, and simple harmonic vibrations. Furthermore, the problem limitations used include: 1) Some students do not give feedback to the teacher; 2) Student learning outcomes are still fairly low; 3) The mechanics material used is momentum and impulse, and simple harmonic vibrations. This type of research is descriptive research that aims to determine the needs of the discovery learning model in the school under study. The research instrument was made with a questionnaire addressed to 2 physics teachers and students of class X Natural Science 1 - X Natural Science 6, an interview sheet addressed to 2 physics teachers. The data obtained that the discovery learning model has been applied and to determine the need for discovery learning models in learning, it is analyzed through student responses and teacher readiness with existing facilities and infrastructure. The advantages are effective to increase student activeness and the weaknesses are not all physics material that can be applied with the learning model, some students are still passive, limited time and student understanding is still low.
