Abstract

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) increasingly surpasses human capabilities, the potential for its misuse to replace human efforts has become more prominent. Consequently, various disruptions have emerged across multiple domains, including education. In Indonesia, growing concerns about academic dishonesty have emerged alongside the rapid expansion of AI technologies, which may pose new challenges to students’ moral and ethical decision-making both within academic environments and beyond. While the accessibility and ease of AI usage appeal particularly to younger generations, it is hypothesized that students’ decisions to misuse AI in academic contexts may also be influenced by peer pressure. This study aims to examine the roles of perceived ease of use of AI and peer pressure on academic dishonesty among first-year college students, with particular attention to AI misuse in academic activities. A total of 396 first-year students was recruited through convenience sampling. Hierarchical Regression Analysis revealed that both peer pressure and perceived ease of use of AI jointly influence academic dishonesty, particularly in the misuse of AI. However, peer pressure demonstrated a uniquely significant partial contribution to predicting dishonest behavior. These findings suggest that external social factors, particularly peer influence, play a critical role in encouraging academic dishonesty involving AI.

Abstract

The topic of optimism and anxiety among young adults is quite often discussed. Previous studies explain that optimism plays an active role in reducing a person's anxiety levels, especially in young adults. However, several studies show that optimism has no influence whatsoever in the process of reducing anxiety. This article then presents identifying the dynamics of the influence of optimism on anxiety in young adults, which is reviewed from various perspectives of previous research. This article also aims to determine the role of optimism as a protector for reducing anxiety levels among young adults. The method used in this study was to review the literature by conducting a review process of 20 articles obtained through the search process with Google Scholar and Scopus. The results of the study showed that optimism was proven to have a protective role among young adults in overcoming anxiety. Optimism also has an important role in reducing anxiety levels among young adults.

Abstract

The Industry 4.0 era, characterized by rapid technological advancements and dynamic challenges within the professional landscape, necessitates that all individuals develop their skills to avoid being replaced by technology and to effectively adapt to new job roles. Within this phenomenon, this research aims to explore the role and implications, analyzing research gaps related to adversity quotient and career adaptability by reviewing previous studies using a narrative literature review method. This study employs a narrative literature review approach, with a search conducted from 2010 to 2025, utilizing sources such as Google Scholar and Scopus. The findings overwhelmingly indicate a relationship and influence of adversity quotient on career adaptability. Additionally, several past studies have also utilized adversity quotient as a relevant variable in the context of careers and professions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and synthesize empirical findings related to the relationship between the sense of meaning in life and the regulation of emotions through  the Systematic Literature Review (SLR)  approach. The background of this research is based on the importance of the meaning in life as one of the psychological resources that can strengthen the ability of individuals to manage emotions adaptively. Previous research has shown that individuals with high life meanings tend to use constructive emotion regulation strategies, such as cognitive reassessment, and less often use maladaptive strategies such as emotion suppression. The study examined nine scientific articles published between 2021 until 2025 using databases such as Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The results of the analysis show that the relationship between the two constructs is found in a variety of population contexts, such as college students, nurses, women with cancer, and individuals with postpartum depression, as well as across different cultural backgrounds. This study uses instruments such as Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), and DERS. The majority of research is quantitative with a correlational approach. In general, the results of this study show that  the sense of meaning of life contributes to the strengthening of emotion regulation ability, but further research is still needed with longitudinal, experimental, and cross-cultural approaches to deepen the understanding of the relationship between causal and contextual variables.

Abstract

Smartphone addiction among adolescents has emerged as a significant psychological concern in the digital era, marked by compulsive smartphone use, emotional dysregulation, and increased anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. Adolescents are particuraly vulnerable due to the critical stage of their social-emotional development and their hight exposure to digital devices. This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in reducing the psychological impact of smartphone addiction among adolescents. Ten relevant studies were reviewed and synthesized based on the type of interventions, target outcome, and application context. The results indicate that mindfulness-through approaches such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), school-based mindfulness training, and self-awareness education can effectively reduce stress, improve emotional regulations, and minimize problematic smartphone use. The interventions were found to be applicable in both clinical and educational setting. In conclusion, mindfulness represents a promising strategy within the field of positive psychology to address smartphone addiction and to support adolescent mental health in an increasingly digital environment.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of single-parent families in Indonesia, as a consequence of the high rate of divorce or death of a partner, drives the urgency to understand family resilience in this context. This phenomenon is crucial considering that changes in family structure can significantly affect the psychological well-being of both parents and children. This study synthesizes and analyzes the existing literature on the resilience of single-parent families in Indonesia, with a particular focus on the psychological factors influencing family welfare and adaptation. The approach used was a literature review, with articles collected from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases. The initial search process resulted in 1678 articles, which were then filtered down to 20 relevant articles. Key findings suggest that individual psychological factors, diverse coping strategies, and sociocultural support, including the role of gender-based social stigma and religious values significantly affect single-parent family resilience. This study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach that considers the peculiarities of Indonesia's cultural context in an effort to support the resilience of single-parent families. It is hoped that this research can provide essential insights for the development of social policies and interventions that are more effective for single-parent families in Indonesia.
