Abstract

Abstract

The development of inclusive tourism in Indonesia is crucial because it aims to ensure that everyone, including people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, has equal opportunities in tourism activities. This study aims to explore the role of communities empowering women with disabilities in the development of inclusive tourism. This study used qualitative methods through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, involving informants from the women with disabilities community, tourism group, MSMEs, regional officials, and the local community. The results show that the women with disabilities community plays a strategic role in realizing sustainable inclusive tourism. Member participation increases self-confidence, expands social networks, and provides additional income for community members. Furthermore, the implementation of inclusive tourism has positive impacts on the community, such as increased economic activity, preservation of local culture, and strengthening environmental awareness. However, challenges remain, including strengthening government and community support, improving accessible infrastructure, expanding training programs, and strengthening cross-stakeholder collaboration to create truly inclusive and competitive tourism destinations.

Abstract

Access to capital is a crucial factor in the sustainability of the agricultural sector, especially in production centers such as Kintamani, Bali. This study aims to explore farmers’ accessibility to Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), its impact on their welfare, as well as its implication on the interest of regeneration. Welfare, as well as its implication on young farmers’ regeneration interest. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in Kintamani. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 21 informants consisting of farmers, farmers group association/LKM administrators, village government, and the younger generation, as well as field observations. Field observation. The results showed a dualism of access to capital where traditional farmers prefer the informal sector (middlemen) because of the ease of procedures (zero admin) and speed of liquidity compared to formal MFIs. Speed of liquidity compared to formal MFIs. In terms of welfare, the existing access to capital has not been able to become a significant economic leverage and only functions as a safety net in a cycle of “digging holes closing holes”. Transformation is needed institutionalization of Farmers Group Association into an off-taker and modernization of technology to re-attract the younger generation.

Abstract

The cold chain is a critical logistics system for maintaining the quality of temperature-sensitive products such as food, pharmaceuticals, and vaccines. This study aims to evaluate industry players’ awareness of the importance of cold chain and the level of technology adoption in cold chain operations. A quantitative survey method was used, distributing questionnaires to 150 respondents involved in the cold product supply chain across various sectors. The findings indicate that while 85% of respondents understand the importance of cold chain, only 60% have adopted modern technologies such as digital temperature sensors, IoT, and real-time tracking systems. The main barriers to adoption are investment costs and lack of technical training. This study highlights the importance of awareness programs, training, and incentives to encourage businesses to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the cold chain system in Indonesia. The implications of this research are expected to support the development of policies and strategies for wider implementation of technology in refrigerated logistics systems.

Abstract

Pangandaran Beach, a premier West Java destination, offers stunning beaches and rich culture, but it depends heavily on domestic tourists, with international visitors remaining minimal. This gap presents strong potential to enhance global appeal and support Indonesia’s tourism foreign exchange goals post-pandemic. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors affecting Pangandaran Beach’s attractiveness to international tourists and assess their influence. A qualitative descriptive case study approach was employed. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants, field observations, and document review. Analysis used the six tourism components framework (attractions, accessibility, amenities, activities, available packages, ancillary services), along with internal factor evaluation, external factor evaluation, and SWOT matrices. Findings reveal a reasonably good internal condition (score 2.569) driven by natural beauty, unique geography, cultural richness, and friendly locals, though weaknesses persist in environmental management, accessibility, amenities quality, and service consistency. The external environment is moderately challenging (score 2.465), with opportunities from nature-culture tourism trends and low competition among Java beaches not yet fully leveraged against threats like degradation and inconsistent practices. Stronger governance, environmental care, better access and services, and stakeholder collaboration are essential to unlock sustainable international competitiveness, driving higher foreign revenue, jobs, and balanced regional tourism growth.
