Abstract

The target for this community service program is a resident of Jl. Parikesit RT 05 RW 03 Dusun Picis, Balongdowo Village, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency. He had a work accident in one of the industries in the city of Sidoarjo in 2010 on the left wrist up to the fingers, so the doctor suggested amputation. He is actually still in his productive age (36 years old) but because of this situation, he is unable to carry out activities in the world of work and has decreased confidence in himself and avoids socializing in society. The purpose of this community partnership program (PKM) activity is to apply 3d printing technology in the manufacture of prosthetic hands for people who have transradial amputations as an effort to improve the quality of life. The implementation methods used are: a) the measurement of several physical parameters on the amputee such as the diameter of the arm circumference, the length of the amputated part, weight and height. In addition to physical parameters, we also carry out medical measurements, including obtaining information on health conditions such as blood pressure, heart health and blood glucose levels, b) designing prosthetic hands using 3D application programs and 3D printers, c) mechanical and functional testing for perform basic movements in the form of opening and closing the palms, d) monitoring and evaluation of the use of prosthetic hands. The results obtained from this activity are that the patient can use the prosthetic hand to assist with activities in carrying out daily activities. In this PKM activity, amputees have been tested, namely the movement of holding a mineral water bottle, holding a banana, peeling a banana peel and driving a two-wheeled motorized vehicle. Monitoring shows that patients need regular exercise in using prosthetic hands so that they are able to control and condition their use. In the future, several developments can be made, including in terms of control and size of the prosthetic hand so that patients can feel the benefits of a prosthetic hand that functions like a normal hand.

Abstract

The problems faced by partners are: in carrying out traditional massage massage practice activities, partners do not carry out the process of recording medical conditions before or after the massage process. Thus, this causes partners to be unable to remember the conditions before and after the provision of traditional massage therapy. In addition, when giving traditional massage to patients who have to return periodically, partners cannot know the impact after giving traditional massage. So, to know the result is to ask questions to the patient (e.g. "how is the result after the massage?"). Therefore, monitoring the massage process in post-stroke patients is qualitative and subjective. The implementation methods are: Measuring the physical and medical parameters of the patient such as weight, height and blood pressure, before and after the partner performs traditional massage to the patient, the bio-electrical muscle signal (EMG) is measured by attaching electrodes to the partially paralyzed limbs. Next, the patient contracted the muscle by pressing a rubber ball connected to an electronic pressure measuring module. Together with partners, they monitor the measured value of the muscle bio-electric signal (which is displayed on the computer panel), c) monitor the bio-electric signal in post-stroke patients who undergo traditional massage therapy in subsequent therapy activities (2-5 therapies). The output of PKM activities with the title "Implementation of Muscle Bio-electric Signal Measurement to Monitor the Healing Process of Post-Stroke Patients as an Effort to Support Traditional Massage Workers" is the device that can be used by the partners to monitor the effect of the massage to the patient. The targets and achievements expected in this PKM activity are that partners can monitor the effectiveness of traditional massage with the support of science and technology.

Abstract

Human empowerment carried out by Posyandu as a voluntary community organization is very useful, especially in terms of health. Posyandu is managed independently from and for the community as a form of empowerment and provides basic health services for the community. Posyandu is one form of Community-Sourced Health Efforts (UKBM) that is managed from, by, for, and with the community, in order to empower the community and provide convenience to the community in obtaining basic health services. Efforts to improve the role and function of Posyandu are not solely the responsibility of the government, but all components in the community, including cadres. The role of cadres in organizing Posyandu is very large because in addition to being a provider of health information to the community as well as a community mobilizer to come to Posyandu and implement clean and healthy living behavior. Identification of problems that were successfully collected by the Community Service team of Lecturers and Electromedical Engineering Students at Posyandu Bulak Village, which has 15 posyandu, are as follows: 1. Reporting made by posyandu cadres after completion of weighing activities, recording, counseling, etc. is often delayed, even at the end of the new month to provide reports to the Kenjeran Health Center.2. The availability of Posyandu applications that facilitate posyandu cadres both in monitoring the growth of infants and toddlers, planning the next activity, and recording data on infants and toddlers is shorter and in accordance with activities that have been carried out naun has never been utilized by Posyandu cadres. 3. Controlling or monitoring of unhealthy infants cannot be immediately known by the puskesmas. 4.Reporting of Posyandu activities using the F1 Nutrition Form / SKDN is still manual and paper sheets.1. There are several cadres who are elderly, so they need a youth organization assistant to make the report.

Abstract

Many people with physical disabilities, especially transradial amputees, face difficulties in performing daily activities and have low self-esteem due to the lack of affordable and functional prosthetic hands. The aim of this community service program is to apply 3D printing technology in making prosthetic hands for the members of the Indonesian Physical Disability Association (PPDFI) branch in Surabaya. The method consists of four steps: (1) measuring the physical parameters of the amputees, such as the circumference and length of the residual limb, (2) designing and printing the prosthetic hand using 3D software and printer, (3) testing the mechanical and functional performance of the prosthetic hand, such as the ability to open and close, and (4) providing counseling and mentoring to the amputees to restore their confidence and evaluate their usage. Result: The result of this program is the availability of a low-cost and open-source prosthetic hand for the transradial amputees, which can help them to perform basic activities such as driving, holding a phone, and grabbing a bottle. The prosthetic hand can also be customized according to the needs and preferences of the amputees, such as the color or design. Conclusion: The conclusion of this program is that 3D printing technology can be used to create a functional and affordable prosthetic hand for the transradial amputees, which can improve their quality of life and self-esteem. The program also provides education and guidance to the amputees and the community about the benefits and risks of using prosthetic hands.
