Abstract

Information technology has now become a primary need for many individuals, facilitating access to various needs, including work, learning, and other activities. Mobile phones allow users to stay connected to the internet without interruption, even when traveling out of town, thanks to their ability to switch between cells or through a process known as handover. The focus of this article is on the impact of handover on 4G LTE networks. The data collection approach in this research uses the drive test method by utilizing the tems pocket application to retrieve internet network data. The research results highlight the importance of understanding how handover can affect 4G LTE network performance. With the role of information technology increasingly dominating everyday life, a deep understanding of technical aspects such as handover has become essential to maintaining the quality and efficient availability of cellular communications services.

Abstract

The growing demand for network services leads to an increase in traffic load on eNodeB, resulting in decreased network quality and performance, necessitating optimization. This research analyses the results of optimising 4G reference signal received power (RSRP), signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) and throughput parameters using the automatic cell planning (ACP) method. ACP has been shown to significantly improve the performance and quality of 4G LTE networks compared to traditional cell planning methods. Based on the standard parameter RSRP, increased after ACP optimisation which is dominant in the range ≥ -100 s.d ˃ -85 dBm and obtained an average value of -98.59 dBm with good category. The average SINR has increased by 18.23 dB with a good category. The dominant throughput is in the 14,000 Kbps range with an average value of 50,241.08 Kbps with the excellent category. The ACP method can enhance the performance of 4G LTE networks, potentially addressing operator issues of unstable network quality due to poor coverage. The ACP method significantly enhances 4G LTE network performance, coverage, and user experience, potentially addressing unstable network quality due to poor coverage. This research is crucial for both users and the telecoms industry.

Abstract

Nanggalo Subdistrict is one of the sub-districts located in the city of Padang, West Sumatra Province. The advantages of data transfer speeds owned by 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) make telecommunications operators compete with each other to provide the best service quality, but there is still a decrease in network quality in the Nanggalo District area at Telkomsel and Tri operators. So it is necessary to do a drive test to measure and find out the network quality of the two operators. Measuring the quality of a 4G network with RSRP, SINR, and Throughput parameters and how to retrieve data is a benchmark. The software used is TEMS Pocket to take measurement data during the drive test, TEMS Discovery Software to process the data of the test drive results. The comparison results were obtained in Nanggalo District for Tri operator to have better network quality, which can be seen in the SINR parameter has a percentage value of 43.17% and Throughput with a percentage value of 83.56% while Telkomsel operator have a SINR value with a percentage of 17.58% and throughput with a percentage value of 36.59%.

Abstract

The 4G LTE technology is widespread in almost all regions in Indonesia, including Solok City in West Sumatra, where this study was conducted. Based on the results of the 1800 MHz frequency drive test, the RSRP value was in the good category (81.44%), but the SINR value was in the poor category (56.96%). Furthermore, the results of the 2100 MHz frequency drive test showed that the RSRP value was in the poor category (58.11%), and the SINR value was also in the poor category (54.62%). These results indicate that the area had poor network quality. Therefore, this study aimed to optimize the Bad Spot Area in Solok City using the Automatic Cell Planning (ACP) method. The ACP method optimization results show that at the 1800 MHz frequency, the value of the ten cells is in the interval -127.84 ≤ RSRP ≤ -99.34. Meanwhile, at the 2100 MHz frequency, the value of the seven cells is in the poor category, which is in the interval -136.39 ≤ RSRP ≤ -111.03. In the 2100 MHz frequency, there is a decrease in RSRP value in the poor cate-gory from 43.27% to 41.85%. SINR parameter optimization results of 2100 MHz frequency, the percentage of a very good category is higher with a value of 51.40% than 44.16% at 1800 MHz frequency.

Abstract

Antena UWB-MIMO menjadi solusi yang potensial dalam menghadirkan komunikasi nirkabel yang unggul. Antena UWB MIMO merupakan antena yang dapat menyediakan kapasitas bandwidth yang luas, kecepatan data yang tinggi, dan kualitas kanal transmisi yang optimal. Dalam komunikasi nirkabel, sifat-sifat antena yang diperlukan meliputi ukuran yang lebih kecil, pola radiasi omnidirectional, dan kemampuan untuk berintegrasi dengan perangkat lain. Oleh karena itu, tantangan utama dalam merancang antena UWB MIMO adalah bagaimana mencapai desain antena yang lebih kecil dan mewujudkan pola radiasi omnidirectional untuk setiap elemen antena UWB-MIMO. Pada penelitian ini dirancang antena UWB MIMO modifikasi dengan bahan FR-4 memiliki ukuran yang sangat kecil yaitu 39 mm x 39 mm x 1,6 mm. Antena dibuat dengan bentuk ground parsial dan masing-masing elemen saling tegak lurus dengan Polarization Diversity.  Antena ini memperoleh bandwidth yang luas yaitu 2,1-12.7 GHz, VSWR < 2, rentangan gain pada 2,3-3,5 dBi, isolasi yang optimal -15 dB, envelop correlation coefficient (ECC< 0,007) dan pola radiasi omnidirectional di setiap element antena.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian di SMKN 1 Bukit Sundi Kabupaten Solok bekerja sama dengan Politeknik Negeri Padang dilakukan sebagai kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan dan pembinaan kepada guru, siswa dan admin perpustakaan agar managemen perpustakaan tertata dengan baik lebih efisien. Dari hasil diskusi dengan Kepala Sekolah dan para guru pada tahap awal ini para guru ingin fokus pada kegiatan yang dapat membuat perpustakaan dalam pengelolaan buku, pinjam dan pengembalian yang selama ini masih dicatat pada buku besar atau file excel. Kegiatan ini akan berdampak pada pengembangan tata kelola perpustaan yang berbasis web yang akan memberikan kemudahan akses bagi siswa-siswi dan guru SMKN 1 Bukit Sundi Kabupaten Solok. Kedepannya bagi siswa SMKN 1 Bukit Sundi Kabupaten Solok. Peningkatan efisiensi pengelolaan perpustakaan merupakan target luaran utama yang ingin dicapai. Indikatornya adalah kemudahan akses koleksi perpustakaan secara online, meminjam dan mengembalikan buku, serta mengakses informasi tentang acara-acara dan program-program perpustakaan. Dengan adanya program ini diharapkan mampu memberi solusi kendala yang dihadapi pihak perpustakaan dalam pngelolaan koleksi buku di SMKN 1 Bukit Sundi Kabupaten Solok .

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian di MTsS Koto Anau Lembang Jaya Kabupaten Solok bekerja sama dengan Politeknik Negeri Padang dilakukan sebagai kegiatan workshop dan pembinaan kepada guru dan siswa agar mendorong pengingkatan minat bidang robotik dan terbektuk unit program robotik. Dari hasil diskusi dengan Kepala Sekolah dan para guru pada tahap awal ini para guru ingin fokus pada kegiatan yang dapat membuat karya inovasi sederhana yang berhubungan dengan Robotik diantaranya pengenalan robot, komponen pendukung robot serta pembuatan program robot. Kegiatan ini akan berdampak pada pengingkatan dan pengembangan siswa untuk melakukan kegiatan ekstra kurikuler bidang Robotik serta nantinya dapat memfasilitasi siswa-siswi MTsS Koto Anau Lembang Jaya Kabupaten Solok. Dan kedepannya bagi siswa MTsS Koto Anau Lembang Jaya Kabupaten Solok dapat ikut ambil bagian dalam agenda tahunan lomba science bidang TIK khususnya bidang robotik. unit program robotik sebagai salah satu ekstrakulikuler siswa sehingga akan muncul kreatifitas-kreatifitas baru baik dari guru maupun siswa. Politeknik Negeri Padang mendukung dan siap membantu sekolah-sekolah dalam pengenalan dan pembelajaran serta pembinaan tentang robot karena di Politeknik Negeri Padang ada kegiatan kemahasiswaan tentang Robotika yang selalu ikut kontes Robot Indonesia yang dilaksanakan oleh Dikti yang diadakan setiap tahun. Kegiatan yang dilakukan antara lain pelatihan robot, pemograman Robot, dan perancangan inovasi robot. Peningkatan kompetensi guru dan siswa merupakan target luaran utama yang ingin dicapai. Indikatornya adalah munculnya unit program robotik sebagai salah satu ekstrakulikuler. Dengan adanya pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada para guru dan siswa ini diharapkan bisa berkelanjutan pada pembinaan siswa-siswa berikutnya dan tidak berhenti hanya pada satu periode siswa saja hanya karena mereka sudah menyelesaikan studi mereka.

Abstract

Network interference such as overshoot can affect differences in signal quality and strength on cellular networks. Overshoot is a situation where the network power coverage exceeds the initial planning limit, causing users to be served by cells that are further away than the closest cells. This research aims to deal with problems that arise due to overshoot in the East Sawahan area. The research was conducted using the drivetest method in East Sawahan, Padang. The software used is TEMS Pocket for collecting measurement data and TEMS Discovery software for processing drivetest result data. Network performance is seen from the RSRP, SINR and PCI parameters. In this problem, network performance was improved using Atoll software. With the antenna tilting method which was previously 0? increased to 6?, the improvement results show that after making changes to network performance the signal quality meets the results of the KPI standards.

Abstract

Technology in the telecommunications sector continues to develop. One of them is the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna used in WIFI access oint application using MIMO technique in enhancement the need to transfer large amounts of data. In the design and manufacture of MIMO antennas for WIFI access applications point with dimensions of 110 mm x 112 mm using FR-4 substrate specifications with a thickness of 1.6 mm. The antenna consists of four ports and is at each corner The groundplane has four slots to achieve good isolation and produces good bandwidth. The antenna simulation produces a bandwidth of 1.0516 GHz with frequency 2.4 GHz, return loss -12.78 dB, isolation -16.08 dB, and VSWR 1.53 dB. Meanwhile, manufactured antennas produce a bandwidth of more than 100 MHz with frequency 2.4 GHz, return loss -13.5 dB, isolation -18.8 dB, and VSWR 1.29 dB. Antenna simulation using the CST Studio Suite 2019 software application. In the application of the antenna used for Wi-Fi as a transmitter By comparing distances, different results are obtained where the power value is Each distance is different because the farther the distance, the greater the power value produced or emitted will be smaller or less optimal  network.

Abstract

A handover strategy is required to ensure connection continuity for cellular network users due to user mobility. Handovers on the same frequency (intra-frequency) and handovers on other frequencies (inter-frequencies) are conceivable in the Intra Radio Access Technology network. The network must be able to give the best quality and optimal bandwidth so that consumers can keep their connection. Most cells have more than one bandwidth channel. A test was performed in this study to determine the influence of priority handover on intra-frequency LTE handover on signal strength and throughput. This study is based on actual measurement findings from the deployed 4G LTE network transceiver device, which contains several carriers for each eNodeB. TEMS Pocket, a mobile gadget, was used to collect data for measurements. For analysis purposes, the parameters RSRP, throughput, frequency band, serving cell identification or PCI (Physical Cell Identity), and event handover are employed. In the inter-frequency LTE handover, there are two priority handovers: handovers from lower bands to higher bands (high priority) and handovers from higher bands to lower bands (low priority). When a low-priority handover happens, the RSRP value and throughput increase, while a high-priority handover causes the RSRP value to decrease.
