Abstract

Sub uterine involution is one of the pathological symptoms of the postpartum period, which causes complications. This is indicated by the size of the fundus uterine, which is greater than the normal size and elongated outflow of lochia. One of the non-pharmacological methods for preventing sub uterine involution is postpartum yoga which focuses on physical and breathing exercises, strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles, and relaxation of autosuggestions. The study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of postpartum yoga on uterine involution. A quasi-experimental, pre-test and post-test with the control group was applied in this study. Thirty-eight postpartum women received postpartum yoga as the intervention group. The control group was comprised of 19 women. The gain score of uterine involution in the intervention group was 9.14 ± 1.27 and in the control group 7.20 ± 1.11. The Cohen’s effect size test is 1.63. The result of the mann whitney test showed that there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group with p value 0,000. The result of determination (R Square), postpartum yoga had an effect of 40.3% on uterine involution after being controlled simultaneously with parity, frequency of breastfeeding, and anxiety. Postpartum yoga is effective to strengthen the uterine muscles, facilitate blood circulation, and stimulate neurohormonal so it could accelerate uterine involution. Further studies could measure of fundus uterine daily. Future researchers can develop postpartum yoga research with other variables such as anxiety, urinary incontinence, quality of life for postpartum women, and hormonal variables including oxytocin, endorphins, and cortisol. Keywords: postpartum yoga, postpartum period, postpartum exercise, uterine involution

Abstract

Perineal trauma commonly impacts on childbirth women due to laceration or intentional because of an episiotomy. The study aimed to examine the effect of AcuYoga postpartum on decreasing the pain among primiparous postpartum with perineal trauma. A quasi-experimental, pre-test, and post-test design with a non-equivalent control group were applied in this study. Thirty-four samples were allocated to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group received the AcuYoga postpartum, and the control group received the general postnatal exercises. The findings showed that there are significant differences in pain levels among the experimental group who received the program than a control group who receive routine care (p-value<0.05). There are significant differences in pain levels among the experimental group before and after program implementation (p<0.05). Further studies need to examine Acuyoga on other variables such as duration of perineal wound healing, the process of elimination, and clinical biomarkers Keywords: Acuyoga, exercise, primipara, pain, perineal trauma

Abstract

Waste management in traditional markets, such as those in Kapanewon Piyungan, presents unique challenges compared to household waste management, primarily due to the predominance of organic waste from food scraps and agricultural products. This study aims to evaluate and analyze the waste management systems in three major markets in Kapanewon Piyungan: Pasar Piyungan, Pasar Panasan, and Pasar Kembangsari. A descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach was used, collecting data through measurement of waste volume and composition using digital scales, and observation of waste sorting systems, waste receptacles, transportation facilities, temporary waste storage (TPS), the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by sanitation workers, and waste processing methods. Findings indicate that Pasar Piyungan has a more advanced waste management system, including composting of organic waste, while Pasar Panasan and Pasar Kembangsari do not process waste and instead transport it directly to the landfill. Although all three markets provide waste bins and transportation facilities, there are deficiencies in meeting technical standards, such as improper placement of TPS and inadequate facilities. Additionally, the use of PPE by sanitation workers varies among markets, with Pasar Piyungan and Pasar Panasan showing better compliance compared to Pasar Kembangsari. In conclusion, despite efforts to improve waste management, there is a need for technical enhancements and increased awareness to ensure more effective and sustainable waste management across all markets in Kapanewon Piyungan.

Abstract

A work accident is one of the risks that can occur in the metal casting industry. Workers' unsafe behavior is the primary cause of occupational accidents. The definition of unsafe behavior is any human behavior that can allow work accidents to occur to oneself or others. The preliminary study results found that 100% of workers had work accidents due to unsafe behavior, and out of 19 workers, 47.3% had insufficient knowledge about unsafe behavior. Counseling using video stop motion is one effort that can be used to overcome. This research aims to investigate the impact of counseling using video stop motion media on enhancing workers' knowledge and safety practices in the metal casting industry. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a pre-test, post-test, and control group. The experimental group consisted of the workers in the finishing section, while the control group consisted of the workers in the induction section. The Wilcoxon test analysis reveals a significant difference in knowledge and behavior values between the pre-test and post-test, resulting from the use of video stop motion media.  Media. The Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference in the mean value of differences in knowledge and behavior in the pre-test and post-test between the experimental and control groups with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Video stop motion has the effect of increasing the value of knowledge and safe action among industry workers.

Abstract

Surgical procedures involving the nervous system have an incidence of intubation failure in all age categories and cause severe complications such as hypoxia, aspiration, and increased intracranial pressure, which can worsen the patient's neurological condition. Accurate preoperative assessment is important to predict intubation-related complications. One of the important predictors of intubation success is the Mallampati score. Several studies on Mallampati Score showed different results, so this study aimed to find out the relationship between Mallampati score and intubation success in neurosurgery patients. This study is an observational analysis with a cross-sectional design, conducted from February 12 to March 23, 2024. The sampling technique used a total sampling with 33 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test. Most respondents with Mallampati Score 1-2 successfully underwent intubation (42.4%). Respondents with Mallampati scores in grades 3-4 mostly experienced failed intubation (39.4%). There was a statistically significant association between Mallampati scores and intubation success in neurosurgical patients. The Mallampati score can be used as part of a comprehensive airway assessment. Additional instruments and comprehensive clinical evaluation improve the success of intubation and reduce the risk of complications. Respondents with Mallampati scores in grades 3-4 mostly experienced failed intubation (39.4. Additional instruments and comprehensive clinical evaluation can improve the success of intubation and reduce the risk of complications. Future research is encouraged to study how cultural and demographic factors affect Mallampati's score and its predictive value in different populations, which could provide insights into its generalization and application in various healthcare contexts.

Abstract

Background: General anesthesia is still the best choice for neurosurgery, even it must be maintained so that the airway remains open. Airway management measures that can be carried out in several ways include intubation using laryngoscopy. There may be an increase in the hemodynamic response, namely blood pressure and pulse rate starting from 5 seconds after intubation. However, it is still being debated by experts. The aim of this study was to determine blood pressure and pulse frequency after being given Fentanyl and after the 5th minute of intubation in neurosurgical patients under general anesthesia. Method: An observational research design, 30 neurosurgical patients using fentanyl 2 mcg/kg BW and intubation techniques. The variables measured were blood pressure and pulse frequency after being given Fentanyl and after 5 minutes of intubation. The instruments used were an intra-anesthetic Hemodynamic Observation Sheet, a watch, and a bedside monitor. Data was analyzed using the independent T-test with a level of confidence of 95%. Results: The results showed that there was an increase in the average Systolic blood pressure (p-value 0.009) and pulse frequency (before intubation) and after intubation at the 5th minute (p-value 0,000). Conclusion: The study can trigger anesthesia experts to look forward to this problem appropriately
