Abstract

Fisheries sustainability is determined by several interacting factors such as ecology, technology, social, economic and ethics (including law and institution). Objective of this study is to determine the sustainability status of small capture fisheries in view of ecological, technological, social, economic, and law (including institutional) dimensions. Rapfish, a quantitative analysis technique, is used to assess sustainability status of fisheries in the coastal area of Serang (Banten) and Tegal (Central Java). In Pasauran Serang, jaring udang currently is in sustainable status, while payang bugis is in less sustainable. In contrast, jaring rampus, bundes and payang gemplo in Tegal are not in sustainable status especially for the ecological dimension. At regional scale, the sustainability status of fisheries in Serang is better than the fisheries in Tegal. The study shows that ecological dimension is the weakest dimension in order to manage and promoting small scale fisheries sustainability in Tegal. This study reconfirms the need to apply comprehensive and integrated bio-technico-socioeconomic aspects in developing fisheries management.

Abstract

The research aimed to overview economic aspect of sustainability small scale fisheries in Tegal district, Central Java. This research used Rapfish method and financial perfonnance analysis To known economic aspect status of sustalnability small scale fisheries In Tegal District. The aim of Research were (1) To describe fisheries sustalnability on small scale fisheriesat Tegal District, Central Java Provlncy, (2) To recommend a policy of fisheries management on small scale fisheries At Tegal District, Central Java Provincy. The result showed "bundes· and ·jaring rampus· was a Suitable gear to catch fish sustalnabllity, but ·payang gemplo· was not. The research recommend Was it is important to decrease subsidy for small scale fisheries who have undepth fishing ground.

Abstract

Problems in operating trap fish tool are that fishermen do not know the actual condition of the traps. Thus, it causes the effectiveness of time and number of catches to be not optimal. Based on the conditions and problems above, the writer concluded that an innovation in the operation of the trap to design a magnetic sensor-based system/tool to detect lobster catches that can be accessed via smartphone is required. The aim of this study is to design and observe the performance of using a magnetic sensor to detect lobsters' (Panulirus spp.) movements on a laboratory scale (in the aquarium). Data analysis in this study used the Confusion Matrix method, where this method divides the test results into 4 common conditions: TP (True Positive), TN (True Negative), FP (False Positive), and FN (False Negative). From the 4 conditions, Recall, Specificity, Precision, Accuracy, and F1 Score can be calculated. From 16 tests with the 16 lobsters of 60-190 grams/individual, it obtained conditions of TP of 25 times, TN of 109 times, FP of 11 times, and FN of 15 times. From the four conditions, it was obtained a Recall value of 0.625 or 62.50%, Specificity of 0.9083 or 90.83%, Precision of 0.6944 or 69.44%, Accuracy of 0.8375 or 83.75%, and F1 Score of 0.6579 or 65.79%. Based on the observations and test results of the actual detection and application system in this study, performance reference for using magnetic sensors was by using Accuracy with a score of 83.75%.

Abstract

Demersal fish have an important role in the fishing industry in Indonesia due to their high economic value and important role in aquatic ecosystems. Bottom longline gear is a very effective fishing gear for catching demersal fish. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of different fishing line sizes on demersal fish catches. This research was conducted from November 2023 to December 2023 in the waters of Aceh Island. The method used was experimental fishing, namely by conducting fishing operations directly in the demersal fishing area. The study showed that the fish catch consisted of five families and sixteen species of demersal fish with a total of 173 fish with an overall weight of 171.2 kg. Catches based on line size showed: line number 5 caught 24 fish weighing 47.1 kg, line number 6 caught 39 fish weighing 59.5 kg, line number 7 caught 50 fish weighing 33 kg, and line number 8 caught 60 fish weighing 31.6 kg. Data analysis tests showed that line size significantly affected the total weight of the catch (Fcount = 3.36 > Ftable = 2.96), meaning that variations in line sizes 5, 6, 7, and 8 had an effect on catch, with line number 6 providing the heaviest catch compared to other sizes.

Abstract

Kepuasan pengguna aplikasi dapat menjadi faktor penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan dalam pengembangan suatu aplikasi. Pengguna yang puas diharapkan akan terus menggunakan aplikasi tersebut. MyIndiHome merupakan aplikasi yang dibuat bagi pelanggan layanan IndiHome dari Telkom untuk menerima informasi dan penawaran layanan, maupun menyampaikan keluhan terhadap layanan IndiHome yang dilanggan. Untuk mendapatkan gambaran tingkat kepuasan pengguna MyIndiHome khususnya di wilayah Jakarta Utara, digunakan metode End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS). Dengan metode ini variabel content, accuracy, format, ease of use, dan timeliness akan diuji pengaruhnya terhadap tingkat kepuasan pengguna. Pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas statistik juga dilakukan dengan menggunakan software SPSS 25, untuk melihat tingkat korelasi dari kelima variabel. Dari hasil pengujian ditemukan pengaruh signifikan kelima variabel tersebut terhadap kepuasan pengguna, dimana content merupakan variabel yang memiliki pengaruh tertinggi dalam menentukan kepuasan pengguna. Sedangkan format menjadi variabel terendah yang mempengaruhi kepuasan pengguna. Untuk itu dapat direkomendasikan perbaikan berkelanjutan atau peningkatan pada aplikasi MyIndiHome, terutama pada aspek kelengkapan dan menariknya tampilan, serta kejelasan informasi yang ditampilkan pada aplikasi. Hal ini karena peningkatan pada aspek tersebut, akan lebih meningkatkan tingkat kepuasan pengguna aplikasi.

Abstract

Green mussel (Perna viridis) is a marine organism that is widely cultivated and considered a leading commodity in the fisheries sector. The increase in mussel production has resulted in a significant amount of shell waste. Improperly managed mussel shell waste can have a negative impact on the environment. However, green mussel shell waste has great potential for reuse, one of which is as a composite material in fiberglass manufacturing. The high calcium content in mussel shells can serve as an additional reinforcement in fiberglass composites. The wood crisis as a raw material for boat construction, which also contributes to environmental deforestation, has led to the consideration of alternative materials such as fiberglass for boat building. This research is an experimental study on the utilization of green mussel shell (GMS) waste as a fiberglass mixture material for boat construction. An ideal composition between the GMS waste powder and fiberglass material is expected to enhance the mechanical strength of fiberglass fishing boats. The study shows that the addition of 20% GMS powder in fiberglass lamination improves mechanical properties, with a maximum tensile stress value of 113.23 MPa. Meanwhile, the maximum flexural strength is observed at 15% GMS powder composition, reaching 192.38 MPa. The addition of GMS powder has the potential to strengthen fiberglass, making it suitable for applications such as fishing boat hulls. However, adding more than 30% GMS powder decreases the material’s strength, particularly in tensile testing. Further research is needed to explore the use of GMS powder for waste reduction and to provide insights into its applications in fiberglass boat manufacturing.

Abstract

Pemantauan kapal di pelabuhan perikanan merupakan aspek yang krusial dalam keselamatan kapal dan kelancaran operasional di pelabuhan perikanan. Pemantauan yang dilakukan secara manual sangat rentan terhadap kesalahan yang berakibat pada kurugian operasional pelabuhan. Pengembangan teknologi IoT dengan modul jaringan LoRa menawarkan solusi otomatisasi pemantauan dan operasional pelabuhan perikanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji stabilitas koneksi perangkat komunikasi LoRa yang diaplikasikan dalam sebuah konsep IoT.  Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa LoRa memiliki stabiltas koneksi yang baik dilingkungan pelabuhan dengan throughput stabil pada 8,73 B/s dan latency 2,28 detik pada jarak hingga 1750m. Penelitian ini membuka peluang lebih lanjut untuk pengembangan dan penerapan sistem IoT di pelabuhan perikanan dengan menggunakan modul LoRa media komunikasi nirkabel.

Abstract

Kapal perikanan berbahan kayu rentan terhadap bahaya kebakaran yang mengancam investasi dan keamanan kapal. Penelitian ini mengusulkan penggunaan fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) sebagai laminasi tahan api untuk melapisi lambung kapal kayu. FRP terdiri dari serat gelas yang diperkuat resin Unsaturated Polyester (UP). Penambahan filler aluminum trihydrate (ATH) pada resin dapat meningkatkan ketahanan api (flame retardant) FRP. Spesimen laminasi FRP dengan berbagai komposisi ATH dibuat dan diuji ketahanan apinya menggunakan standar UL 94 Horizontal. Hasil menunjukkan penambahan ATH meningkatkan ketahanan api secara signifikan, terutama pada konsentrasi 40%, efektif menurunkan laju bakar sampai 8 mm/ min, formulasi penambahan ATH pada laminasi fiberglass berpengaruh positif menambah sifat tahan apinya (flame retardant). Penggunaan yang tepat, dapat menimimalkan kerusakan mayor pada kapal perikanan saat terjadi kebakaran serta memberi waktu lebih kepada petugas pemadam untuk memadamkan api. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of the tuna handline business on ships based at the Cilacap Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS), Central Java. The financial analysis uses 6 indicators in determining business feasibility, including R/C Ratio, B/C Ratio, Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and ROI (Return On Investment). Financial analysis based on 6 financial indicators obtained values including an R/C Ratio of 1.49, Payback Period (PP) for 4 years, Return On Investment (ROI) of 2.4%, Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 3,738,751,559, B/C Ratio of 3.57 and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 48.2%. So that it can be stated that the tuna handline business is financially feasible.

Abstract

Ghost fishing adalah fenomena yang memiliki dampak negatif bagi ekosistem laut. Salah satu penyebab maraknya fenomena ghost fishing adalah alat penangkap ikan yang tersangkut dan hanyut di dasar perairan, sehingga mengakibatkan ikan terjerat pada alat tangkap rusak dan mengundang datangnya predator yang akan memakan ikan kecil dan ikut terjerat didalamnya kemudian mati. Pentingnya sosialisasi terkait ghost fishing akan meningkatkan kesadaran nelayan untuk dapat mencegah ghost fishing dengan melakukan beberapa upaya penting. Maka dari itu, pengabdian kepada masyakarat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan, pengetahuan dan wawasan nelayan tentang dampak dan pencegehan ghost fishing di laut. Edukasi ini dilaksanakan di wilayah Pelabuhan Perikanan Cikidang, Kelurahan Babakan, Kecamatan Pangandaran, Kabupaten Pangandaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pendekatan community development dan konsep pendekatan teori. Peserta kegiatan merupakan nelayan penuh yang melakukan aktivitas penangkapan dan melakukan bongkar muat di sekitar Pelabuhan Perikanan Cikidang. Hasil edukasi ini diawali dengan kegiatan survei dana wawancara kepada kelompok nelayan peserta kegiatan ini. Kemudian, pelaksanaan edukasi dilaksanakan dengan konsep pendekatan yaitu dengan kelas teori. Materi yang disampaikan adalah pengertian tentang ghost fishing, penyebab adanya fenomena ghost fishing, sumber sampah laut, dampak ghost fishing bagi ekosistem laut dan cara pencegahannya. Hasil monitoring dan evaluasi menyebutkan bahwa nelayan mendapatkan banyak manfaat dalam menggunakan alat tangkap baru dan memberikan wawasan jkepada nelayan tentang cara mencegah ghost fishing di laut. Persepsi nelayan disekitar PP Cikidang  menjadi positif dan memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang pentingnya pencegahan ghost fishing dalam upaya menjaga kelestarian laut dan mendukung keberlanjutan ekosistem pesisir.
