Abstract

The Semajid River Basin (DAS) faces complex environmental problems, including flooding during the rainy season, drought during the dry season, increased river sedimentation, and uncontrolled land use changes. This study aims to assess the performance of the Semajid Watershed in accordance with the Minister of Forestry Regulation Number 61 of 2014 on Monitoring and Evaluation of Watershed Performance, and to formulate strategies to improve watershed performance through land-cover optimization scenarios. The watershed performance assessment includes criteria for land, water management, socio-economics, building investment value, and space utilization. The evaluation results show that the Semajid Watershed performance value is 113.75, which indicates that the watershed is in the category of needing to be saved. The application of the additional land cover scenario has a significant impact on improving the criteria for vegetation cover and protected areas. The Percentage of Permanent Vegetation Cover (PPV) increased from 5.5% (very high recovery category) to 32.44% (low recovery category), while the value of the protected area criteria decreased from 68.64 to 9.37, indicating an improvement in the ecological condition of the watershed. Although the watershed's carrying capacity increased to 107.5, the Semajid watershed remains in need of restoration. Therefore, restoration of the Semajid watershed requires integrated management that sustainably integrates technical and non-technical efforts.

Abstract

Kejadian longsoran yang dipengaruhi hujan sering terjadi di Indonesia. Hujan dipahami sebagai faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan tekanan air pori dan kenaikan muka air tanah. Penelitian ini menggunakan data pengeboran, sifat mekanik, data curah hujan harian, kondisi hidrogeologi, dan data gempa. Longsoran yang terjadi merupakan longsoran dangkal, dengan kedalaman bidang gelincir 3 meter dibagian atas lereng dan 7 meter dibagian bawah lereng. Bidang gelincir longsoran memiliki bentuk rotasional. Material penyusun longsoran terdiri dari tanah dan batuan yang berasal dari pelapukan batuan vulkanik. Penampang bawah permukaan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kontak antara breksi tufan lapuk sedang dan breksi tufan lapuk tinggi yang berperan sebagai bidang gelincir. Geologi lereng tersusun dari lava andesit-basaltik, breksi tufan lapuk sedang dan breksi tufan lapuk tinggi. Longsoran dangkal terjadi setelah dipengaruhi hujan hari-hari sebelumnya yang mempengaruhi peningkatan tekanan air pori. Proses terjadinya longsoran diawali dengan munculnya rekahan tarik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan pengaruh curah hujan tinggi secara drastis mempengaruhi penurunan matric suction pada lereng yang menyebabkan terbentuknya rekahan tarik. Pemodelan dilakukan dengan dua simulasi yaitu simulasi dengan pengaruh hujan pendahuluan durasi 47 hari dan pengaruh hujan durasi 10 hari dengan kondisi awal sama. Hasil analisis menunjukkan hujan pendahuluan 47 hari mempengaruhi terjadinya longsoran dibandingkan dengan curah hujan pendahuluan selama 10 hari. Hasil pemodelan durasi 10 hari memiliki nilai faktor keamanan yang lebih tinggi, menunjukkan tidak sesuai keadaan di lapangan karena mengabaikan kondisi hidrogeologi hari sebelumnya. Mekanisme terjadinya longsoran pada area penelitian dipengaruhi oleh tekanan air pori, rekahan tarik dan gempa bumi sehingga didapatkan faktor keamanan sebesar 0.986.

Abstract

The Frequency Ratio (FR) method combined with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was applied to map groundwater potential in the Bedadung Watershed, Jember Regency, Indonesia. The study was conducted from September 2024 to January 2025 by analyzing 136 spring locations across an area of 9,590.83 km². The main objectives were to identify factors influencing groundwater potential, validate the predictive model using the Area Under the Curve (AUC) method, and produce a detailed groundwater potential map. A total of 14 environmental parameters were considered, including Elevation, slope, and vegetation density. Model validation produced an AUC value of 73.8%, indicating a good level of predictive accuracy. The highest groundwater potential was observed in the sub-districts of Sukorambi, Arjasa, Sukowono, and Kalisat, where more than 50% of the area falls into the very high potential category. In contrast, Panti Sub-district demonstrated limited groundwater availability, with 59% of its area classified as low to very low potential. The resulting groundwater potential map was classified into five categories: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high. These findings provide a scientific basis for sustainable water resource management, emphasizing conservation strategies in high-potential areas and infrastructure development in low-potential zones. The effectiveness of the FR method in spatial analysis is reaffirmed, offering valuable insights for groundwater management in the Bedadung Watershed.
