Abstract

This study aimed to describe teacher's perception toward usage of interactive e-books based Problem Based Learning (PBL) to Envhance Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The research was conducted in 50 junior high school science teachers. The method used in this research is a mixed method with Sequential Explanatory Design. The method used in this study is a mixed method with Sequential Explanatory Design. Data is retrieved using questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The survey results show that students have a positive perception of interactive e-books based PBL. The results of the analysis of e-books, most eachers have not used interactive e-books with a PBL approach to provide an understanding of science. E-books that have not trained students' HOTS are also included in the low category because teacher has not set strategies, methods, models and lack of knowledge about technology. It can be said that interactive e-book based PBL are needed by teachers and students to improve students’ HOTS.Keywords: teacher perception, interactive e-books, problem-based learning, higher order thinking skills.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp234-243

Abstract

Scientific literacy about awareness and problem-solving skills related to environmental issues is one of the competencies that must be instilled in students in science learning in the future. However, teaching materials that have the potential to instill these competencies have not been easily accessed by students. The purpose of this study was to design and validate an integrated electronic module with a STEM approach on environmental pollution materials to improve problem-solving skills. This research uses Research and Development (R&D) method with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The E-Module is designed for Project-Based learning (PJBL-STEM) with steps of Reflection, Research, Discovery, Application and Communication. The results of construct validation obtained a percentage of 89.4%, content validation yielded a percentage of 95% and language validation 91.7% with all very valid criteria. Based on the pre-test and post-test trials of the use of e-modules carried out on students, it was found that the N-gain was 0.40 with problem-solving criteria moderate for students. Overall, the research show that the developed e module is validated with a very valid category and can improve students problem-solving skills. Keywords: e-module, STEM, PjBL, problem-solving skills. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i2.pp754-765

Abstract

Disaster literacy needs to be introduced to provide understanding to students and minimize disaster risk. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of an interactive emodule based on Microsoft Sway which is valid and effective in increasing students’ literacy. The design of this study uses a 4D (four-D) Research dan Development (R&D) model. The research sample consisted of control and experimental classes with instruments in the form of test instruments, questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis was based on n-gain data, effect size, and descriptive percentages of teacher and student responses. The percentages of construct, content, and language validation obtained were 84.68%,80.58%, and 86% respectively, with all valid criteria. The study findings indicate that the use of an interactive e-module based on Microsoft Sway is valid and highly effective in improving students’ disaster literacy skills. Keywords: Interactive e-module, disaster literacy skills, disaster literacy, Microsoft Sway. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i3.pp854-871

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a PBL-STEM-based e-worksheet to improve students' disaster literacy using Microsoft Sway. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with 4d (four-D). The 4D development model consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instrument used is a needs questionnaire, test instrument. The results of the study stated that the attractiveness of e-LKPD was 88.20%, convenience was 87.52%, and usefulness was 90.96%. The result of Effect Size on PBL-STEM based e-worksheet on disaster literacy is 0.72 in the high category. PBL-STEM-based e worksheet is used to grow literacy effectiveness, especially earthquake threat materials in areas with an N-gain value of 0.68 and moderately qualified. Teachers and students stated that the use of letters, sentences and language in the e-worksheet was easy to understand, indicating that the PBL-STEM-based e-LKPD used to study the threat of earthquake disasters in areas was interesting, useful and the language used was easy to understand and could improve disaster literacy. junior high school students. Keywords: e-Worksheet, PBL-STEM, disaster literacy, Microsoft Sway. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i3.pp882-893
