Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the application of learning to improve the activity and student learning outcomes in the form of algebraic arithmetic operations. Classwide Peer Tutoring learning requires students to learn to compete but still interact and work together in a fun and familiar attitude of responsibility, this study may affect the students' social and academic personalities. Subjects were students of class VIII D SMP 7 Jember in odd semester of academic year 2013/2014. This study design is Classroom Action Research (CAR), and collection methods using observation, interview, test and documentation of data. The results showed that the activity and learning outcomes has increased. Student activity cycle I was 68.25% and the second cycle was 77.29%. While student learning outcomes first cycle of 66.67%, while the percentage of completeness in the second cycle increased to 90.47%. Thus, this study can enhance the activity and student learning outcomes Key Words: Classwide Peer Tutoring, algebraic arithmetic operations, student’s activity, student’s learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract.Problem solving abilityshould be trainedandtaughtbyteacher to a vocational studentwhois preparedtoplungeintothe world of work. One effortto trainstudents'problem solving abilityisPolya’smodel. Polyamodelconsistsoffour stages:understanding theproblem, makingthe completion ofthe plan, implementthe plan, andre-examine. The purposeof this study is todetermine the problem solving ability of SMK IbuPakusari’s multimedia studentson the subject oflinear program. Data collection methodusedis the method oftesting, interviews, anddocumentation. From the researchit can be concludedthat the percentage of students in problem solving ability is high, medium, low on stage to understand the problem is75%, 12,5%, 12,5%. For the percentage of students on stage the completion ofthe plan is 40,63%, 18,75% ,40,62%. On stage implementthe plan is 46,87%, 18,75%, 34,38%. As for the re-examine is 37,5%, 34,38%, 28,12%. Abstract

Abstract.Inquiry is the learning model that emphasis oncritical thinkingand analyticalprocesstofind their ownanswers toaproblem,andSAVIis a combinationof physical movementand intellectualactivity. The aims of this research is to know implementation of inquiry learning model with SAVI approach to increase students mathematic outcome and student’s activity for the students of class IX. Type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the study design used was a model scheme Kemmis dan Taggartstudy research design were consists of 4 phases include planning, action, observation, and reflection. Thesubject of the research isIX C students of SMP Negeri 2 Jenggawah and material was chosen surface area and volume of curved space geometry. The data collection methods used in this research was observation, interview, test, and documentation.In the first cycle, completeness student’s activity is 77,05% and the student learning outcomes classically is 72,22%. And the second cycle, completeness the student’s activity is 86,57% and the student learning outcomes classically is 86,11%. So the increase of the both cycle classically above was 13,89%. The result shows that the completeness of student’s activity and result learning has increased well. Abstract

This research is a research of class action. The purposes of this research are 1) to know about the motivation increasing from student to learn mathematic after learning applied using recitation method with LKS on standart topic on Cube and Beam in grade VIII E SMPN 11 Jember year 2013/2014; 2) To know result learning about the increasing from student to learn mathematic after learning applied using recitation method with LKS on standart topic on Cube and Beam in grade VIII E SMPN 11 Jember year 2013/2014. The research subject is students of SMPN 11 grade VIII. This research consists of 2 cycles. The data collecting method is observation, questionnaire, interview and test for every end of cycle. Based on the analysis result from the motivation questionnaire students in studying mathematic, the average from cycle value and interview about motivation increasing by the students to learn mathematic after using recitation method. The result is shown by 1) The data from questionnaire students in learning mathematic is getting increasing from the first reflection to the cycle I and to the cycle II is 57,15% becomes 69,87% and in cycle II becomes 76,5% with the high cathegory; The average from the test result is getting increasing, the average in cylce I is 68,37 becomes 81,13 in cycle II. The interview result is the students get a motivation to study generally. Based on the questionnaire result.

Abstract

Abstract. The ability of creative thinking is the ability to resulting new ideas or ways in a product. This is needed in solving math questions as well as geometric material. The study geometry will go through 5 levels according to van Hiele that is 0 (visualization), 1 (analysis), 2 (informal deduction), 3 (deduction), and 4 levels (rigor). This study aims to describe of students based on the thinking level of van Hiele in solving the geometry question. Based on the range scores is obtained by students, two students on the 0 level and two students on the 1 level including the 1 level of creative thinking that is less creative which is the the characteristics of students could show fluency in solving question. Two students in 1 level are also on the 1 level of creative thinking that is less creative but the range scores are differentiated. Two students in 2 levels are different on the level of creative thinking is creative and creative enough. Creative which is the characteristic of the student be able to show fluency, flexibility, and originality in solvinf question while creative enough with able to show fluency and flexibility in solving question. Abstract

This research describes about the critical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 4 Jember students in solving social arithmetic problem. Data collection methods which were used are tests, observations, and interviews. The research subjects consist of 3 students where one student in the category of high mathematical logic intelligence, one student in the category of medium mathematical logic intelligence, and one student in the category of low mathematical logic intelligence. In LSLC-based learning, students in the category of high mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 4 were very critical, students in the category of medium mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 2 were quite critical, and students in the category of low mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 0 were not critical. In the critical thinking ability test, students in the category of high mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 4 were very critical, students in the category of medium mathematical logic intelligence were included in TKBK 3 were critical, and students in the category of low mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 2 were quite critical. The higher the category of mathematical logic intelligence by the subject then the higher student’s critical thinking ability. Abstract

Abstract. This study aim to knows the creative thinking in solving the problem of sub-topic of triangle and quadrilateral based on adversity quotient (AQ) of class VII E Junior High School at Nuris, Jember. Data collection methods used in this study are questionnaires, tests and interviews. The instruments used are the Adversity Response Profile (ARP) questionnaire, creative thinking ability test in the form of open matter of triangle and quadrilateral material and interview. Of the population of 24 students VII class E was taken as many as 3 students is students who have high AQ value (climber), students who have AQ value being (camper), and students who have low AQ (quitter). That the climber students in the research more precisely have the creative level according to the transition category from camper to climber, camper students in this study according to the camper student category, but in this research quitter students exceed the category of quitter students, more precisely quitter students in research creative according to the transition category from quitter. Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe students’ thinking process based on creativity components of problem solving in linear equation systems with two variables. This research type is descriptive with qualitative approach. Data collection methods which were used are test and interview. This research subject are 4 students who randomly chosen from a class. Creativity components are fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Result of the research showed that 1 student fulfilled all of three components of creativity, 2 students only fulfilled flexibilty and fluency component and 1 student did not fulfill any of the creativity components. Abstract

Abstract.This study aimed to know the application of quantum teaching in improving student’s mistakes for social arithmetic topic at seventh grade of juniorhigh school. This study involved grade VIID of SMPN 7 Jember school year 2013/2014 . The research method is a classroom action research. There are four type of student’s mistake, namely the error of using a data, the error of theorem and definition application, technical error, inference error. The result shows that the total error at cycle I reach 38,21% and cycle II reach 28,45%. While the student’s activity of cycle I is 88,86% and cycle II 93,90%. It can be concluded that the quantum teaching model can reduce the students mistakes. Key Words:quantum teaching, social arithmetic, student’s activity, student’s mistakes

Abstract

Abstract. Polya model is one of problem solving model that help the students for solving applicative math problems. Furthermore, Polya defines problem solving as an attempt to find the way out from one difficultness, and reach the unreachable objective that cannot be solved at once. The research aims are (1) how do the Polya problem solve appliment solve the applicative questions, (2) how do the activities of the students as long as Polya problem solve appliment occur to solve the applicative questions, (3) how do the student learn finishment after Polya problem solving appliment occur to solve the applicative question. The results showed improvement of the results of work of students using the Polya Model to solve the problem about applicative questions from first cycle to the next cycle. The research subjects are for analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. The research result shows that category activity in the “rexamine” and “presentation” are the lowest. The learning activity result in the first cycle are 64,1% student complete and not fulfill the classical absorptive power because of ≤ 70%. The second cycle result is increasing of learning result for 79,49% which means has reached classical complement. So, the research has fulfilled the research aims.
