Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini berjudul BKR (Badan Kemanan Rakyat):Cikal Bakal Tentara Indonesia?!. Penelitian ini merupakan interpretasi baru tentang cikal bakal TNI, yang umumnya banyak merujuk pada PETA (Pembela Tanah Air). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Sejarah.Metode Sejarah memiliki empat tahapan yaitu Heuristik, Kritik, Interpretasi dan Historiografi.Sumber-sumber penelitian ini menggunakan koran-koran sezaman, majalah sezaman, dan buku. BKR dianggap sebagai cikal bakal TNI didasarkan beberapa sebab. Pertama, atas dasar legalitas formal, PETA telah dibubarkan sehingga BKR adalah satuan militer yang pertama kali dibentuk setelah Indonesia merdeka. BKR selanjutnya melahirkan pembentukan TKR (Tentara Keamanan Rakyat), TKR (Tentara Keselamatan Rakyat), TRI (Tentara Republik Indonesia) dan TNI (Tentara Nasional Indonesia). Kedua, jika PETA dianggap sebagai cikal bakal TNI, maka KNIL dan beberapa satuan keprajuritan diabaikan. Padahal, beberapa bekas perwira KNIL memiliki peran penting di tubuh BKR hingga TNI.Kata kunci: BKR, Tentara, TNIAbstractThe main subject this study is BKR – Indonesian civil defense corps – as origin of Indonesian Military. This study is new interpretation about the origin of TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) now. Many opinion refer to PETA as civil defense corps in Japanese occupation era. Study emlpoys a Historical Method, which consists of four stage: Heuristic, Critic, Interpretation, Historiography. The study utilize some sources such as newspaper, magazine, and book. Main finding of this study is PETA had dispersed as legality and formally and BKR was formed as the firts corps after Independence of Indonesia. Futhermore, BKR changed to TKR (Tentara Keamanan Rakyat), TKR (Tentara Keselamatan Rakyat), TRI (Tentara Republik Indonesia) until TNI (Tentara Nasional Indonesia). If PETA is considered as origins of Indonesian Military, then it ignore KNIL – a colonial armed forces – and the other defence corps. Even though the eks KNIL’s officer have important role in military managenment of BKR until TNI.Keywords: BKR, Military, TNI

Abstract

The National Sports Museum was formed and intended for the public to learn about sports development in Indonesia. This research has the objectives, namely; to explain what the national football identity signs are in the football essay photo at the national sports museum and what football identity is dominantly present in the photo essay, and the meaning of its appearance. This study uses Roland Barthes' semiotics method to analyze the identity of the signs and meanings contained in football essay photos at the national sports museum. The dominant national football identity presented by the museum is football as a recreational sport and as a professional sport slightly raised due to the unstable development of Indonesian football achievements and tends to decline.

Abstract

People engage in nostalgia through museums and their experiences, but little study has been done to link the three. The article places photo essays at the National Sports Museum as a trigger for visitors' memories of events in photos related to self-identity and the nation. It explains the projection of collective identity when the visitors revisit their old memories while consuming the event documentation in the photo essays, and places the photo essays as a medium for imagined community nostalgia. The article argues that the photo essays not only help restore visitors' memories and knowledge but also build personal and collective identities that foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Abstract

Penggemar dan penikmat musik mulai kembali membeli pemutar analog, membeli rilisan dan mengoleksinya. Hal tersebut memunculkan fenomena mengunggah koleksi rilisan musik di instagram. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merekonstruksi identitas musik remaja oleh idharrez, amenkcoy, opetho, alter.naive, dan iamcollapse. Adapun signifikansi topik dalam penelitian ini adalah identitas musik yang berkaitan dengan aging dengan keterlibatnnya dalam mengoleksi rilisan musik fisik yang diunggah di media sosial.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menampilkan data-data untuk mendukung temuan penelitian, serta kajian literatur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan netnografi dalam mengamati jejak digital yang menampilkan keterlibatan dalam lingkup musik di instagram. Selain itu, melakukan wawancara untuk memperoleh kedalaman informasi melalui lima informan pemilik akun instagram yang dikelola warga kota Bandung dengan rentang usia 35 sampai 42 tahun. Pemilihan kelima pemilik akun yang menjadi informan peneliti berdasarkan kredibilitas yang sudah dikenal dalam lingkup musik di kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keaktifan mengunggah rilisan musik fisik di usia muda telah membentuk identitas yang melekat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah musik berperan bagi hidup mereka maka hingga saat ini mereka tetap berada dalam lingkup musik; karya, dan kiprahnya telah dikenal di kota Bandung terlihat dari unggahan mereka di instagram.   Music fans and connoisseurs are returning to buying analog players, purchasing releases, and collecting them. This led to the phenomenon of uploading a collection of music releases on Instagram. The purpose of this research is to reconstruct the musical identity of youth by idharrez, amenkcoy, opetho, alter.naive, and iamcollapse. The significance of the topic in this study is musical identity related to aging with involvement in collecting physical music releases uploaded on social media. This qualitative research presents data to support research findings and a literature review. This study uses a netnographic approach to observing digital footprints that display involvement in the music sphere on Instagram—in addition, conducting interviews to obtain in-depth information through five informants who own Instagram accounts managed by residents of the city of Bandung with an age range of 35 to 42 years. The five account owners who became research informants were selected based on credibility that was well-known in the music scene in the city of Bandung. The results of this study indicate that the activeness of uploading physical music releases at a young age has formed an inherent identity. This study concludes that music plays a role in their lives, so until now, they are still within the scope of music; their works and work have been known in Bandung, as seen from their uploads on Instagram.

Abstract

Kegiatan PPM yang dilakukan berjudul “Edukasi Pelestarian Warisan Budaya bagi Masyarakat Kampung Dukuh Desa Ciroyom Kecamatan Cikelet Kabupaten Garut”. Kegiatan PPM yang dilaksanakan merupakan bagian integral dari riset berjudul Kehidupan Religi (Agama) Masyarakat Sunda di Jawa Barat. Kegiatan PPM ini memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat Adat Kampung Dukuh. Salah satu hal yang melatarbelakangi kegiatan PPM ini ialah generasi muda di sekitar Kampung Dukuh belum memahami dengan baik berbagai regulasi yang terkait dengan pelestarian budaya. Di samping itu, selama ini tidak ada upaya terstruktur yang mengisi kekosongan nilai-nilai di dalam pengembangan masyarakat ini karena tampaknya tidak terjangkau oleh pihak otoritas yang memiliki kewenangan pengembangan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat tradisi. Setelah kegiatan ini dilakukan diharapkan generasi muda di Kampung Adat Dukuh mengetahui dan memahami regulasi yang berkaitan dengan pelestarian budaya. Selain itu diharapkan pihak otoritas yang memiliki kewenangan pengembangan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat tradisi dapat menjangkau Masyarakat Adat Kampung Dukuh sebagai bagian dari pelestari warisan budaya di Jawa Barat khususnya dan Indonesia umumnya.

Abstract

This article discusses the result of research on a manuscript called Chinese Chronicles on Sam Po Kong Temple found in a manuscript from Cirebon. This research used a historical method consisting of 4 stages: heuristics, criticism interpretation, and historiography using analytic descriptive method. This research aims to prove that the chronicles are as secondary historical evidence, not a primary one. These Chinese chronicles are a copy of the manuscript. It is estimated that the copy was made in the Dutch colonial era after 1928. The Chronicles tell the life of the Moslem Chinese in Nusantara, especially Java Island, after Cheng Ho’s voyage to Nusantara when it was still under Majapahit kingdom sovereignty.

Abstract

Mount Kumbang, located in Ketanggungan Subdistrict, Brebes Regency, has been utilized as a site for ascetic practices since pre-Islamic times up to the present. This research aims to discuss the transition of ascetic practices due to Islamization on the slopes of Mount Kumbang from the 16th century to the present. The research focuses on the narrative of the encounter between pre-Islamic asceticism and Islamization, the forms of cultural reconciliation between pre-Islamic traditions and Islam, and how the ascetic community on Mount Kumbang has been politically portrayed in the process of Islamization. The historical method, encompassing heuristic processes, criticism, interpretation, and historiography, was employed in this research. The results demonstrate that the encounter between pre-Islamic asceticism and Islamization proceeded peacefully and was full of reconciliation. The narrative of Islamization and pre-Islamic asceticism appears in the "Babad Cirebon" and local folklore, which recount the continuation of ascetic traditions such as meditation practiced by Islamic disseminators on Mount Kumbang. Cultural reconciliation between pre-Islamic asceticism and Islamization is also evident in historical narratives, oral sources, and the culture of the community on the slopes of Mount Kumbang, such as taboos, the "ngasa" ritual, and religious practices that exhibit archaic characteristics and are well-documented in historical sources from both the colonial period and the present. The ascetic community has also politically contributed to Islamization by being portrayed as peacefully accepting Islamization, albeit not fully in its entirety. The ascetic community has been utilized as agents to depict the acceptance of Islam, even though it was not shown through perfect Islamic practices. The conclusion of this research indicates the continuity of ascetic practices from pre-Islamic traditions to Islamic traditions, as recorded in historical sources from the Islamic, colonial, and contemporary periods.

Abstract

Asceticism practices constitute an integral part of religious and cultural life in Tatar Sunda society during the classical period, which remains understudied. This research serves as a preliminary study on asceticism practices in Mount Kumbang, Brebes, during the 15th-16th centuries, highlighting the ideological backgrounds and ascetic practices occurring in the region. The research was conducted through historical archaeology approach. The findings indicate that asceticism practices in Mount Kumbang during the 15th-16th centuries are documented in written and archaeological sources. The existence of these practices is rooted in religious ideologies associated with achieving spiritual power and the highest level of knowledge, accomplished through various forms of psychophysical restraint such as meditation (samadhi), fasting, and specific rituals.

Abstract

Tulisan ini berjudul “Makna seni ukiran gorga pada rumah adat batak”. Ukiran gorga merupakan salah satu bentuk kesenian ukiran khas kebudayaan adat batak. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berbagai bentuk dari ukiran gorga pada rumah adat batak. Bentuk ukiran gorga bermacam-macam, sehingga pada setiap bentuk ukiran gorga memiliki makna yang  berbeda-beda. Oleh karena itu, tulisan ini juga bertujuan untuk memahami makna yang ada pada ukiran gorga. Dalam pemaknaan ukiran gorga menggunakan pendekatan semiotika. Semiotika ialah pendekatan ilmu yang mempelajari tentang tanda. Pada ukiran gorga rumah adat batak memiliki makna kehidupan, yang mana hal ini tergambar melalui bentuk-bentuk pada setiap ukiran.Kata kunci : Ukiran, Gorga, Rumah Adat Batak

Abstract

ABSTRACTLately, people are often confused with the definition of kawih, tembang, and cianjuran. Quite often the term kawih is dichotomized by the term tembang, or the term tembang is equated with cianjuran. This mistake even applies to educational institutions, both in high schools and in universities. Likewise with the media. This study aims to describe the meaning of kawih, tembang, and cianjuran. The method used is descriptive qualitative through an epistemological approach, which examines the exposure of the meanings of the three terms from several sources, as well as comparing from other sources who also describe the three terms to obtain meaning that is considered ideal. The results obtained are, kawih is a vocal art owned by the Sundanese people and has been around for a long time, long before the sixteenth century. Kawih is also interpreted as all kinds of songs that exist in Sundanese society. Tembang is a type of kawih or song that uses lyrics from the dangding and only emerged and was known in Sundanese society around the XVIII century as an influence of Mataram; cianjuran is a part of Sundanese kawih originating from Cianjur Regency.Keywords: Kawih, Tembang, Tembang Sunda, Cianjuran, Tembang Sunda CianjuranABSTRAKAkhir-akhir ini masyarakat kerap dikelirukan dengan definisi kawih, tembang, dan cianjuran. Tak jarang istilah kawih didikotomikan dengan istilah tembang, atau istilah tembang disamakan artinya dengan cianjuran. Kekeliruan ini bahkan berlaku pada dunia pendidikan, baik di sekolah menengah maupun di perguruan tinggi. Demikian pula pada dunia pers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna dari kawih, tembang, dan cianjuran. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui pendekatan epistimologi, yakni menelaah dari paparan makna ketiga istilah dari beberapa sumber, serta membandingkan dari sumber-sumber lain yang juga memaparkan ketiga istilah tadi untuk memperoleh makna yang dianggap ideal. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah, kedudukan kawih merupakan seni suara atau nyanyian yang dimiliki masyarakat Sunda, serta sudah ada sejak lama, jauh sebelum abad XVI. Kawih dimaknai pula sebagai segala jenis nyanyian yang ada pada masyarakat Sunda. Tembang adalah jenis kawih atau nyanyian yang menggunakan lirik dari dangding dan baru muncul serta dikenal di masyarakat Sunda sekitar abad XVIII sebagai pengaruh dari Mataram; sedangkan cianjuran merupakan bagian dari kawih Sunda yang berasal dari daerah Cianjur.Kata kunci: Kawih, Tembang, Tembang Sunda, Cianjuran, Tembang Sunda Cianjuran
