Abstract

Dye is an important compound in the textile industry. The famous dye for coloring of textile is methylene blue. Methylene blue degradation has been difficult when carried out naturally by microorganisms. The advanced oxidative process is a promising method to degrade methylene blue using semiconductor material TiO2 and its modification. The modification catalyst of TiO2 such as TiO2-N, TiO2/zeolite-NaY, and TiO2-N/zeolite-NaY. These materials were synthesized by mixing TiO2 and urea, then followed by impregnation of the mixture to zeolite-NaY as support material. The materials have been synthesized then characterized by XRD, and FTIR. Degradation of methylene blue on the synthesized materials was tested under UV light for 5, 20, 30, 40, and 50 minutes. The results showed that the diffractogram of TiO-N/zeolite-NaY and TiO2/zeolite-Y has a similar specific peak with TiO2 and zeolite-NaY. It indicates that the impregnation process was successful. TiO2/zeolite-NaY and TiO2-N/zeolite-NaY also showed excellent activity for degrading methylene blue, which reached up to 99% for 3 hours of reaction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa lempung alam dan kulit pisang sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan komposit untuk adsorpsi metilen biru. Preparasi adsorben lempung alam dan kulit pisang dilakukan dengan cara yang sederhana. Lempung alam dan kulit pisang yang telah dipreparasi selanjutnya digunakan sebagai adsorben untuk adsorpsi zat warna metilen biru. Pengujian adsorpsi metilen biru pada material lempung alam dan kulit pisang dilakukan pada variasi massa adsorben 0,05; 0,10; 0,15; 0,20 dan 0,25 gram serta variasi waktu kontak 10, 20, 30, 40 dan 50 menit. Adsorbat yang digunakan pada proses adsorpsi adalah metilen biru 20 ppm sebanyak 20 mL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adsorpsi metilen biru optimum pada massa adsorben lempung alam dan kulit pisang masing-masing sebesar 0,20 gram. Sedangkan pengaruh waktu kontak menunjukkan nilai presentase metilen biru yang teradsorp optimum pada waktu 50 menit, yaitu 70,15% dengan lempung alam dan 68,55% dengan kulit pisang.

Abstract

Ikan di desa Gawerejo Kecamatan Karangbinagun Kabupaten Lamongan tidak hanya diperoleh melalui bujukan di tambak, melainkan dapat juga diperoleh dari kolam ikan yang sebagian besar merupakan bekas lahan pertanian. Menurut warga di desa Gawerejo, bertani tidak diwariskan oleh orang tua mereka terlebih dahulu kepada generasi muda, sehingga muncul inovasi baru yaitumenjadikan lahan yang ada sebagai kolam ikan. Jadi saat ini sebagian besar desa yang semula ditanami padi sekarang menjadi kolam ikan. Hasil ikan yang diperoleh dari kolam tersebut biasanya dijual langsung ke agen yang datang ke desa. Padahal sebagian ikan tersebut dapat diproses terlebih dahulu menjadi makanan ikan yang bernilai tinggi. Salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan ekonomi dan kesehatan masyarakat secara umum adalah melalui program pengolahan ikan menjadi makanan yang bervariasi dan produktif. Pengolahan ini dilakukan menggunakan ikan patin yang merupakan hasil perikanan di desa Gawerejo. Kata Kunci: Pengolahan ikan;ikan patin;makanan; variatif; produktif.

Abstract

Peat is a wetland region in Indonesia with a very high water storage capacity. However, the amount of humic compounds obtained from the accumulation of organic substances in peat makes the water unable to be used for daily purposes. Peat water treatment with several methods has been carried out, such as coagulation, electrocoagulation, flocculation, and filtration. However, the result of clumping or filtering in such a way raises new environmental problems. One method which effective and efficient used in peat water treatment is photocatalytic. Several materials based-semiconductor was developed as a photocatalyst, another modification of photocatalyst is combining the adsorbent as a porous supporting photocatalyst which can improve its performance.

Abstract

Banana peels are agricultural waste from bananas which are quite a lot in Moronyamplung Village, Kembangbahu District, Lamongan Regency. Banana peels waste contain functional groups that play a role in dye adsorption so that banana peels waste can be used as an adsorbent for dyes adsorption that contaminate water around Moronyamplung Village, Kembangbahu District, Lamongan Regency. The benefits and content of banana peels waste are the reason for conducting community service activities through educational activities with the aim the people of Moronyamplung Village, Kembangbahu District, Lamongan Regency can reuse banana peels waste which was previously just thrown away to become an absorbent material (adsorbent) for dyes. The results of community service show that there is an average increase in community understanding after education by the community service team. The increase in community understanding after calculating with N-Gain obtained a value of g = 0.62. The N-Gain value obtained is in the range of 0.3≤g≤0.7, which means that the increase in public understanding of educational activities has increased which is classified as moderate.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) disertai Metode Mind Mapping, untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) disertai Metode Mind Mapping terhadap Literasi Sains pada pembelajaran IPA. Desain penelitan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif True Experimental dan menggunakan populasi ataupun sampel secara simple random sampling. Lokasi penelitian ini yakni berada di SMP Negeri 1 Kalitengah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yakni menggunakan tes Literasi Sains dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang di terapkan dalam penelitian ini yakni menggunakan uji hipotesis menggunakan independen sampel t-tes dan uji n-gain untuk mengukur Literasi Sains, untuk mengukur lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan analisis keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu : 1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dalam RPP menggunakan PBL termasuk kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 91,25%. 2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) terhadap literasi sains dengan signifikansi hasil dari uji independen sampel t-tes yakni sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. 3) hasil uji n-gain meningkat sebesar 20,99%.

Abstract

This research aimed to synthesize and characterize the properties of green banana peel waste to be used as adsorbent material. The green banana peel waste was prepared by sieved to be banana powder and then characterized by XRD, FTIR, XRF, and TGA. The adsorption capacity of methylene blue was tested using a simple method, the “batch method”, with further analysis by spectrophotometry UV-Vis. The XRF results of green banana peel showed that most of the composition is potassium and phosphorus. The methylene blue adsorption capacity of banana peel material is up to 75.10% with 0.5 grams of adsorbent, which is more significant than in the banana peel, which is 68.04% with 0.2 grams.

Abstract

This research aims to synthesize zeolite-NaY material which is then applied as an adsorbent for methane adsorption. Zeolite-NaY was synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and isotherm adsorption-desorption N2 (BET). The characterization results showed that synthesized zeolite-NaY had a diffraction peak with the highest intensity at 2θ = 6° and its morphology showed octahedral crystals. Zeolite-NaY was then applied as an adsorbent for methane adsorption. The methane adsorption test on zeolite-NaY was carried out using the gravimetric method at temperature of 30 °C and pressure of 1 bar. The data was recorded of increasing time every 1 minute until constant. The adsorption test results showed that the methane adsorption capacity on the zeolite-NaY material was 0.436 % wt.

Abstract

The same thinking or giving the exact solution when expressed by several students in open-ended questions or High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) indicates a lack of self-efficacy. This is the background of the purpose of this study to measure self-efficacy through Student Worksheets based on empirical and theoretical reviews on static fluid materials. This study is quasi-experimental because it uses a pre-post-test control group design. Sampling will be done using a purposive sampling technique. The samples were junior high school students in one of the Lamongan districts. The results of this study indicate that the Student Worksheet based on the theoretical, empirical review can increase students’ self-efficacy. An increase in self-efficacy was observed from the average value at the time of the pre-test, 62.68%, to 71.95% at the time of the post-test. The results of these values are classified as good improvement according to the Likert scale. Self-efficacy is measured using six indicators (scientific content, problem-solving ability, laboratory usage, daily application, scientific communication, and scientific literacy). Scientific literacy indicators get the lowest average value caused by the low interest of students in learning a concept. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further research on the relationship between student interest and self-efficacy.

Abstract

Methylene blue is the most widely used dye in the industry and it is difficult to be degraded by the microorganism. This research aims to investigate the photocatalytic activity and effects of contact time on the photocatalytic degradation rate of methylene blue by TiO2/Zeolite-NaY and TiO2-N/Zeolite-NaY material based on the kinetic study. The Advanced Oxidative Process (AOP) method was used to degrade methylene blue. Furthermore, the AOP is a degradation process that uses semiconductor material such as TiO2 or modification catalyst of TiO2 to be TiO2/Zeolite-NaY and TiO2-N/Zeolite-NaY. The degradation of methylene blue with catalyst TiO2/Zeolite-NaY and TiO2-N/Zeolite-NaY were tested under UV light for 5, 20, 30, 40, and 50 minutes. The result showed that TiO2/Zeolite-NaY and TiO2-N/Zeolite-NaY had an excellent activity for degrading the dye, which reached up to 99% after 20 and 30 minutes reaction, respectively. Also, a kinetic study of methylene blue degradation on TiO2/Zeolite-NaY and TiO2-N/Zeolite-NaY showed the kinetic models were according to pseudo-second-order.
