Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang uji toksisitas ekstrak biji dan klika kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk) terhadap larva udang (Artemia salina Leach). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan membandingkan potensi toksisitas akut ekstrak biji dan klika kelor terhadap larva udang dengan menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) dan untuk menentukan nilai LC50 setelah pemberian ekstrak biji dan klika kelor. Simplisia biji dan klika kelor  diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Ekstrak cair yang diperoleh kemudian diuapkan untuk mendapatkan ekstrak kental. Ekstrak kental diuji masing-masing aktivitasnya terhadap larva Artemia salina Leach. Hasil penelitian, analisis data dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak biji dan klika kelor memilki potensi toksisitas akut terhadap larva udang. Ekstrak biji kelor memiliki efek toksik lebih rendah dengan nilai LC50 sebesar 38,0101 µg/mL dibandingkan dengan ekstrak klika kelor dengan LC50 sebesar 0,4551 µg/mL.

Abstract

Propolis adalah resin alami yang dikumpulkan oleh lebah madu dari tumbuhan dan digunakan secara luas dalam pengobatan tradisional. Sifat antibakteri dan antijamur dari ekstrak propolis telah diselidiki secara ekstensif, namun belum diketahui konsentrasi efektif propolis untuk diformulasikan sebagai salep antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi efektif ekstrak propolis dalam sediaan salep untuk menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus. Pengujian aktivitas antimikroba dilakukan dengan metode difusi menggunakan kertas cakram dengan masa inkubasi 24 jam. Diameter hambatan yang terbentuk diukur dan dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan diameter hambatan rata-rata salep propolis 1% sebesar 9,5 mm, 5% sebesar 9,7 mm, 10% sebesar 10,8 mm, dan kontrol positif sebesar 15,5 mm. Hasil analisis statistik nilai F hitung (36,6) > F tabel pada taraf 1% (7,591) dan 5% (4,006), sehingga menunjukkan ada pengaruh variasi konsentrasi ekstrak propolis pada sediaan salep terhadap luas diameter hambatan pada taraf 1% dan 5%. Disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi yang efektif ekstrak propolis dalam sediaan salep dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus adalah 1%.

Abstract

Dangke is Enrekang traditional food products, which is a kind of cheese products without curing, and not coagulated with rennet but with papain (papaya latex). Dangke in this formula made using skim milk base material which is then fermented using bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophillus which has been commonly used in the manufacturing process of milk fermentation. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of processed food products made from the traditional Dangke basic ingredients of skim milk, and skim milk determine the effect of concentration and fermentation time on making dangke to dangke generated. Research methods include making Dangke with 3 variations of the concentration of skim milk 5%, 10%, 15%, heating at a temperature of 65ºC. 40ºC cooling, inoculation with bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophillus. Incubation temperature of 40.5°C in the oven. In the incubation period 1, 2, 3 days organoleptic testing in the form of color, aroma, flavor, and texture analysis is then performed fat, protein, and lactic acid. The results of the analysis showed that the organoleptic quality of processed food products traditional Dangke made from basic ingredients in the manufacture of skim milk yield dangke dangke white, flavored lactic acid, sour, textured semi-solid. The results of the analysis indicate that the nutritional value of the higher concentration of skim milk and the longer the fermentation time caused the increase in protein content, total lactic acid and a decrease in fat content. The conclusion of this study is skim milk can be used as an alternative raw material in the manufacture dangke. Effect of skim milk concentration and fermentation time on the quality of dangke can increase total levels of lactic acid, protein content and lower fat content. Fermentation dangke better quality than the conventional dangke.

Abstract

Research Test The Effect Gel Ethanolic Extract of Tembelekan Leaf (Lantana camara L.) to cuts wound healing in Rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) as been done with the objective to determine the effectiveness of Tembelekan (Lantana camara L.) leaf ethanol extract gel to healing  cuts wound in rabbits. The method used were extraction of the sample is by maceration, Formulation gel with varian consentration ethanolic extract of Tembelekan leaf (Lantana camara L.) were 1%, 2%, 4% and base gel without extract, test the effect in skin rabbits has been cuts wound healing in skin rabbitsfor all of the formula, positive control and negative control. Result of Research were given for extract 1%, 2%, dan 4%, positive control, and negative control average on the 12th, 11th, 9th, 6th, and 14th. From the result of statistical test completely randomized design (CRD) and the least significant difference test (LSD) can be conclueded that gel were given more effectif are ethanolic of Tembelekan (Lantana camara L.) extract content of 4%.

Abstract

Captopril have good absorption in gastric pH and ionized on intestinal pH. It is necessary to keep the drug in the form of molecules in the area of the absoption. The mucoadhesive gastroretensive drug delivery system provides the possibility of controlled release in stomach in a certain amount of time. Research has been conducted to assess the quality and profile of captopril release in of a mucoadhesive gastroretensive tablet. Mucoadhesive tablets (MK) were made in 5 formulas by wet granulation method using carbopol 934P and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose as matrix with ratio 10: 0 (MK1), 0: 10 (MK2), 5: 5 (MK3), 7: 3 (MK4), and 3: 7 (MK5). The parameters which was evaluate were characteristics of granules and tablets and kinetics model of captopril release from tablets in 0,01 N HCl medium. Mucoadhesive tablets had different characteristics for each formula. Mucoadhesive tablets that had good quality and release profile were shown by MK4 and MK5 formula. They had controlled drug release profiles accorded to the Korsmeyer-Peppas and Higuchi kinetics models, respectively.

Abstract

Suruhan leaves (Peperomia pellucida L.) are known to be rich in secondary metabolites including alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and triterpenoid compounds that have potential as anti-acne so that they can be applied as active ingredients in gel preparations. The purpose of this study was to determine the best base for the formulation of an anti-acne gel preparation of suruhan leaf extract that was physically stable. The research method includes the extraction of suruhan leaves by maceration using 96% ethanol. The gel formulation was designed with variations of carbopol base, HPMC, and Na CMC with a concentration of 2%. Physical stability tests include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersion, viscosity and adhesion which were carried out before and after accelerated storage using a climatic chamber. The results of this study showed that the gel preparation of the ethanol extract of suruhan leaves using carbopol and HPMC bases produced a physically stable gel based on the results of organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, adhesion and viscosity, before and after accelerated storage.

Abstract

Cuttlefish shell (Sepia sp.) contains calcium carbonate which has benefits in removing dead skin cells, regulating skin pigmentation, shrinking pores, removing acne and black spots and making skin brighter. The aims of this study were to formalize dosage form of cuttlefish shell cream scrub (Sepia sp.) that meets the physical quality requirements and to determine the potential irritation of cuttlefish shell (Sepia sp.) cream scrubs in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Reseacrh methods include the dosage form of cuttlefish shell powder using sieve mesh 44, cream scrub formulations with variations in cuttlefish shell powder concentrations by 15%, 20% and 25%. Physical quality test carried iut includes organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, scatter power tests and sticking power tests. The cream scrub formula irritation test was carried out by patch test method in rabbit test animals. The results of the study obtained that cuttlefish shell cream scrubs have qualified physical quality tests and the degree of irritation value of F1 cream scrubs (cuttlefish shell 15%) of 0,2 which is categorized means very mild irritation.

Abstract

The mangosteen peel contains phenol compounds that have antifungal activity. The study aimed to find out the antifungal activity in the dosage form of toothpaste against Candida albicans. The research methods used include the extraction of mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) by maceration using 96% ethanol. The toothpaste formula was composed with an extract concentration of 1.25% (F1); 2.5% (F2); 5% (F3); and base (B). Antifungal testing was carried out by diffusion method using Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media. The results showed that the toothpaste formula with a concentration of F1; F2; F3; and base (B) has an average value of successive inhibition zone diameters of 11.86 mm; 12.03mm; 12.54mm; and 7.78 mm. The conclusion of the study showed that the toothpaste preparation of the ethanol extract of mangosteen fruit peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) concentration was 1.25%; 2.5%; 5% which performs antifungal activity.

Abstract

Tubuh membutuhkan antioksidan untuk mencegah stress oksidatif yang disebabkan oleh radikal bebas. Salah satu sumber antioksidan adalah bunga kembang telang (Clitoria ternatea L.). Pembuatan teh herbal bunga kembang telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas penggunaan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian untuk menentukan nilai IC50 dan mutu fisik teh herbal bunga kembang telang (Clitoria ternatea L.). Metode penelitian meliputi pembuatan teh herbal dari simplisia bunga kembang telang (Clitoria ternatea L.). Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Pengujian mutu fisik yaitu uji kadar air, kadar abu total, kadar abu larut air, kadar abu tidak larut asam dan alkalinitas abu. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan teh herbal bunga kembang telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 259,84 ± 0,50 ppm dengan pembanding asam askorbat sebesar IC50 2,657 ± 0,007 ppm dan hasil uji mutu fisik yaitu kadar air 5,4%, kadar abu total 6,3%, kadar abu larut air 4,2%, kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,42% dan alkalinitas abu 2,1%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa teh herbal bunga kembang telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan memenuhi 4 syarat mutu fisik teh yaitu kadar air, kadar abu total, kadar abu tidak larut asam dan alkalinitas abu.
