Abstract

Speaking proficiency is a crucial skill for global communication, yet many Thai secondary school students struggle with fluency and confidence due to limited exposure to authentic language use and traditional grammar-focused instruction. Existing research on AI-assisted language learning highlights its potential, but studies on AI Gliglish in Thai classrooms remain scarce. AI Gliglish is an AI-powered English learning platform designed to provide real-time speech assessment, feedback, and interactive conversation practice. This study investigates the effectiveness of AI Gliglish in enhancing students’ speaking proficiency and confidence using a Classroom Action Research approach. Data were collected from 30 Grade 7 students at Muslim Satun Wittaya School, Thailand, through pre-test, post-test, interviews, and classroom observations. Findings indicate a 19.25% improvement in speaking scores, increased student participation, and reduced speaking anxiety. The Paired Sample T-Test (Sig. 0.001 0.05) confirms a statistically significant impact. These results suggest that AI Gliglish effectively enhances speaking skills, supporting its integration into English language education to foster engagement, fluency, and confidence.

Abstract

The development of English-speaking skills among Thai EFL students remains challenging due to linguistic differences, rote-learning methods, and limited real-world practice. While technology-assisted learning is gaining attention, research rarely explores the integration of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) with AI tools. This study examines the effectiveness of combining SRL with ELSA Speak AI to improve  speaking proficiency. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR), 30 sixth-grade students at Darul Muhmin Elementary School underwent a two-cycle intervention, with data collected through pre-tests, post-tests, interviews, and observations. Results show significant improvements in pronunciation, fluency, and confidence, with all students surpassing the minimum passing criteria. The study concludes that integrating SRL with AI fosters learner autonomy, engagement, and performance, demonstrating AI’s potential in EFL education.

Abstract

The study was motivated by the identified shortcomings in students’ ability to write effectively in English, the less appealing teaching approach employed by the teachers, the emphasis placed on assignments and tests, and the limited use of interactive learning resources. This study examines how the integration of Nearpod affects the English writing proficiency of students in Satun, Thailand. The objective of this research is to explore how Nearpod influences the improvement of students’ English writing skills in Satun, Thailand. This study employed pretests and posttests as instruments for data collection.  This research employs the following data analysis techniques: 1. Normal Distribution Test, 2. Assessment of Variance Homogeneity, and 3. Hypothesis Evaluation Using the t-Test. To test the hypothesis, a t-test was utilized following the assessment of data normality and homogeneity. When the t-test findings indicated a significant impact on fertility (sig (2-tailed) = 0.001 0.05), The rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) led to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha).  The utilization of interactive learning media, such as Nearpod, markedly enhances the English ability in written expression Muslim Suka lower secondary school students in Thailand, surpassing the efficacy of conventional teaching approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of role-play strategies implemented by Indonesian pre-service EFL teachers and to investigate students’ responses to English learning at Turkeeyah Tunummah School, Southern Thailand. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of 23 students engaged in an English lesson on the topic “My Daily Activity.” Data were collected through student response questionnaires administered before and after the implementation of the role-play strategy and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-samples t-test. The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in student responses following the implementation of the role-play strategy. The mean score increased from 55.48 at the pretest stage to 92.83 at the posttest stage, with a significance level of p 0.05. These results indicate that role-play strategies effectively enhance students’ self-confidence, learning motivation, active participation, and speaking skills within a multilingual and multicultural EFL classroom context.
