Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Game-Based Learning to improve the speaking motivation of students in class XII-3 SMA Negeri 4 Semarang. The problem addressed was the low participation of students in English lessons, particularly in speaking skills. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection was carried out through direct classroom observation and evaluation of students’ speaking presentations. The results of the first cycle showed some improvement, with 61% of the 36 students submitting video speaking assignments. In the second cycle, the integration of Cooperative Learning strategies such as the Gallery Walk led to higher student participation, with 94% achieving the target. The findings suggest that the Game-Based Learning model significantly enhances students' motivation and engagement in speaking activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was twofold: to develop an online learning application compatible with both Android and Windows platforms and to evaluate the effectiveness of an Android-based mobile learning tool in improving English proficiency and student perceptions. This research employed a research and development (R&D) methodology encompassing nine stages: needs assessment, data collection, product design, expert validation, testing, initial revision, trial implementation, second revision, and finalization. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires and analyzed using independent sample t-tests and descriptive statistics. Participants included second-year junior high school students in Central Java. The findings of this study are as follows: first, the validity of the developed product was confirmed through expert validation from media and material specialists, indicating its feasibility for educational use. Second, a statistically significant improvement in students’ test scores was observed, highlighting the effectiveness of the Android-based mobile learning tool. Finally, 75.5% of participants agreed that the application provided a positive learning experience by delivering practical and concise materials on greeting cards, enhancing engagement, and reducing learning monotony. This study demonstrates that Android-based mobile learning media can be a valuable tool for English language instruction.

Abstract

EFL learners had a less enthuastic and  difficult experiences when they studied short fuctional text. So, this current study discussed how to create a mobile phone application for online learning compatible with Android and Windows platforms named short functional text: greeting card. This study also attempted to evaluate the effectiveness of acquiring English language skills using Android-based mobile learning media. This study employed a research and development methodology, which involved nine consecutive stages: identification of potential and challenges, data collection, product design, validation of the design by experts, product testing, initial product revision, trial usage of the product, second product revision, and finalization of the product. The research instruments employed were questionnaires and tests. The data analysis was performed utilizing descriptive statistics and an independent sample T-test. The participants included eighth-grade students who were enrolled at SMP N 4 Purwodadi. Three separate findings were obtained from this inquiry. The validation of media and material specialists was a relevant evaluation of an authentic product, and the viability of using an Android-based mobile learning media product was established. Moreover, the average pre-test and post-test results exhibited a significant significance level, suggesting that the android-based mobile learning media was very effective as a learning medium throughout the learning process. Moreover, the student's perception findings were categorized as positive, with 75.5% indicating their agreement with using Android-based mobile learning media for learning. Using android-based mobile learning media can help students comprehend condensed functional content included in greeting cards, and it can alleviate monotony throughout the learning process.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of digital storytelling based on the folklore "Malin Kundang" in improving the understanding of moral values, bilingual communication skills, and digital skills of elementary school students in SK Senawang, Seremban, Malaysia. The program was designed using a Participatory Action-Based Learning approach and an Experiential Learning framework that emphasizes hands-on experience, reflection, and digital content production. A total of 100 students aged 10–12 participated in animation screenings, bilingual discussions (Malay-English), creative workshops, and moral retelling and reflection activities. Data were collected through observation, visual documentation, student work, and teacher interviews, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through source triangulation. The results indicate that digital storytelling effectively clarified understanding of moral values through visualization of conflict and consequences, increased students' confidence in using English through familiar story contexts, and developed creativity and digital literacy through drawing, animation, and voice-over activities. The program also strengthened teachers' pedagogical capacity and institutional collaboration as a model for culture- and technology-based education relevant to the Southeast Asian region.

Abstract

User reviews on the Shopee e-commerce platform represent an important source of information for understanding consumer perceptions of products and services. Sentiment analysis is commonly applied to classify user opinions into positive, neutral, and negative sentiment categories based on textual data. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) method in sentiment classification of Shopee user reviews. The dataset used in this study consists of Indonesian-language user reviews that have undergone preprocessing stages, including case folding, text cleaning, tokenization, and stopword removal. The LSTM model was trained using preprocessed text represented as word sequences. Model performance was evaluated using overall accuracy and class-wise classification results. The experimental results indicate that the LSTM method achieved an overall accuracy of 87.62%. In addition, the classification performance for the positive sentiment class reached 95.27%, the neutral class achieved 4.96%, and the negative class reached 74.26%. These results demonstrate that the LSTM method performs well in classifying sentiment in Shopee user reviews, particularly for positive sentiment. This study is expected to provide insights and references for the application of deep learning methods in sentiment analysis of Indonesian e-commerce review data.
