Abstract

Indonesia is one of countries that has high quantity of people but low in quality. It is shown from the low rating in human development index. Thus, the quality improvement i.e. educational improvement should be implemented effectively. Reading is one of the most crucial element in the field of education. The low rating of reading interest among Indonesian people becomes a tremendous issue which needs to be solved. To tackle, government implements the reading movement as contained in Act of the Republic of Indonesia number 20 of 2003 and ruled by Ministry of Culture and Education (Permendikbud) number 23 of 2015 about 15 minutes of literacy activities prior to the beginning of the study session. The study aims to identify the university students’ reading interest in University of Bangka Belitung as well as to examine the determinant and the obstacle of the university students’ reading interest. Structured questionnaire and online data collection methods were employed to obtain the primary data from 182 university students in University of Bangka Belitung, Indonesia. The study showed that the reading interest of university students in University of Bangka Belitung were at low score. About one-third of the respondents visited library once a week, one-fourth visited library twice a week and only 8.3 % of the respondents visited library 4 – 5 times a week. Almost one-fourth of respondents had 1 – 4 reading materials. Around half of respondents read less than an hour a day. As the determinant of book reading and library attendance, 61.3 % of the respondents were due to do assignment while only 16 % of respondents were due to habit and need to read. Whereas, as the obstacle to reading, almost half of respondents preferred using gadget, around one-fourth of respondents spent their times with friends and 39.2 % of respondents were too busy with their extracurricular activities on campus

Abstract

Efisiensi merupakan aspek penting yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur dalam pengambilan keputusan terhadap produksi atas alternatif yang tersedia. Efisiensi Teknis merupakan salah satu bentuk efisiensi yang perlu diperhatikan di dalam budidaya pertanian. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efisiensi teknis pada lada putih di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Simple random sampling digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data sebanyak 100 responden. Data envelopment analysis dan tobit regression diterapkan sebagai metode analisis data. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa status sosio-ekonomi mampu mempengaruhi peningkatan efisiensi pada budidaya pertanian. Hal tersebut mencakup tingkat pendidikan, ukuran rumah tangga dan pupuk anorganik. Di sisi lain, usia tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap efisiensi teknis pada budidaya pertanian.

Abstract

White pepper is an annual plant which has a good prospect to be developed now and future. Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province becomes the top white pepper producing province as well as the main exporter in Indonesia. The study aims to describe the demography of respondents that plant the white pepper and the various input production of white pepper in Kepulauan Banga Belitung Province. Descriptive qualitative analysis was employed to interpret the data. The revealed that the whiter pepper farmers had various input production. The majority of farmers was above 40 year-old, male, graduated from elementary school, farmers as main job, having above nine family members, having five non-worker family members, and married. The various input production of white pepper is land size, seeds, source of fund, fertilizer, pesticide and labor.

Abstract

Abstract Pepper farmers in Bangka Belitung are currently facing various challenges and obstacles when the economic conditions are getting more difficult. The local government has provided many programs so that this problem can be resolved including the provision of free seeds, warehouse receipt systems and pest and disease control. However, the program has not been able to be utilized optimally by pepper farmers. This community empowerment program is here to provide knowledge strengthening in utilizing programs from the government as an effort to improve the welfare of pepper farmers and the general public. Therefore, this program offers a solution in the form of community empowerment, especially for pepper farmers to strengthen the capacity of human resources at Gapoktan institutions in managerial terms such as strengthening the function of the organizational structure and detailing the duties and responsibilities of members in the organization. In addition, this program can empower farmers in creating added value for pepper commodities that can provide social and financial benefits to beneficiaries. This program is able to contribute to reducing the problems faced by pepper farmers. Abstrak Petani lada di Bangka Belitung saat ini menghadapi berbagai tantangan dan kendala disaat kondisi perekenomian semakin sulit. Pemerintah daerah telah memberikan banyak program agar masalah ini dapat teratasi diantaranya pemberian benih gratis, sistem resi gudang dan pengendalian hama dan penyakit. Meskipun demikian, progam tersebut masih belum mampu dimanfaatkan oleh petani lada secara optimal. Program pemberdayaan masyarakat ini hadir untuk memberikan penguatan pengetahuan dalam memanfaatkan program dari pemerintah sebagai upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani lada dan masyarakat umumnya. Oleh sebab itu, program ini menawarkan solusi berupa pemberdayaan masyarakat khususnya kepada petani lada untuk menguatkan kapasitas sumber daya manusia pada lembaga gapoktan dalam hal manajerial seperti penguatan fungsi struktur organisasi serta perincian tugas dan tanggung jawab anggota dalam organisasi. Selain itu, program ini dapat memberdayakan petani dalam penciptaan nilai tambah pada komoditas lada yang dapat memberikan keuntungan sosial dan finansial kepada penerima manfaat. Program ini mampu memberikan sumbangsih kepada pengurangan masalah yang dihadapi oleh petani lada.

Abstract

In the last few years, the business performance of muntok white pepper has gradually decreased. The reducing production of pepper, the declining area of pepper plantation, and the decreasing income of pepper farmer are the phenomenon that pepper’s business performance is weak. The study aims to analyse the determinants of entrepreneurial behaviour and its business performance as well as to determine the dominant factors between internal and external factors. The survey was used as the research method with purposive sampling as the sampling method. 90 farmers involved as the respondents of the study. Structural equation modelling with smart partial least squares was applied to analyse the data. The study found that the entrepreneurial behaviour of pepper farmer was positively significant in affecting the business performance. The changing of pepper income was the most powerful indicator in reflecting the business performance. The entrepreneurial characteristics and the personal factors as the internal factor as well as environmental factor as the external factor influenced both entrepreneurial behaviour and business performance. The ethnicity as the internal factor played a vital role in affecting the entrepreneurial behaviour and business performance. Through entrepreneurial characteristics as the internal factor, the direct effect of entrepreneurial behaviour towards business performance was bigger than the indirect effect of both internal and external factors towards the business performance. It indicated that the internal and external supports were inadequate to improve the business performance if the pepper farmer had no entrepreneurial behaviour in managing farming activities.

Abstract

The strategy to disseminate innovative technology is vital. It expects the technology to be effective and can be adopted. The assessment of the perception of farmers towards the characteristics of innovative technology is needed to identify the potential implementation of sustainability. The study aims to understand the characteristics of technology innovation of Probio_FM in the food processing of palm oil and to examine the impact of innovation characteristics on the adoption of innovation. The survey was employed as the research method. Structural equation modeling with smart partial least squares was used to analyze the data. The study discovered that the innovation characteristics and adoption of Probio_FM technology were relative advantages, compatibility, complexity, liability, and observability. The innovation characteristics had a significant impact on the adoption process. Technology innovation was accepted by society. The variable of relative advantage, trialability, and compatibility was the most important innovation characteristic of livestock farmers in the process of adoption of Probio_FM technology in food processing of palm oil.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of feed consumption, weight gain of cattle, and to calculate the population of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli and Salmonella in cattle feces in order to determine the effect of giving probiotics on the digestive system of cattle. The research object used was 10 bali cattle with a weight of about 90-120 kg. The data in this study were analyzed by experimental design using analysis of variance to determine the effect of giving probiotics to cattle feed on cattle weight gain. The treatment in question includes G0 with treatment in the form of feeding with a composition of 60% forage, 15% palm cake, 25% cassava, and 100 ml molasses. Meanwhile, G1 was treated with the same feed as G0, but added with 100 ml of probiotic Probio_FM. Based on the results of the study, it is known that probiotics given to cattle feed showed no significant effect on the level of feed consumption and body weight of cattle where cattle with non-probiotic feed had a higher average consumption level than cattle on probiotic feed. Furthermore, this causeed the average weight gain of non-probiotic cattle to be higher than that of probiotic cattle. In addition, it was known that the population of Lactic Acid Bacteria in the feces of probiotic cattle showed a higher number of LAB colonies compared to non-probiotic cattle with numeric values of 3.6x108, 3.3x109, and 2.7x1010. This proved that giving probiotics to bali cattle with a concentration of 100 ml / 100 kg of feed was able to increase the concentration of lactic acid bacteria in the digestive system.

Abstract

Kabupaten Belitung Timur, Kecamatan Manggar merupakan salah satu daerah yang jumlah destinasi wisata baik alam, budaya, dan buatan cukup tinggi. Hal ini berbanding terbalik dengan pendapatan daerah dari sektor wisata. Maka dari itu, usaha pengembangan pariwisata wajib dilakukan, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan media sosial dalam proses pengembangan pariwisata di Kabupaten Belitung Timur, Kecamatan Manggar. Media sosial merupakan suatu kebutuhan masyarakat sehingga penggunaan media sosial terus mengalami peningkatan. Media sosial menjadi wadah bagi masyarakat virtual untuk berinteraksi satu sama lainnya.  Dengan karakteristik media sosial tersebut, mdia sosial sangat strategis untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai wadah untuk pengembangan pariwisata di Kabupaten Belitung Timur, Kecamatan Manggar. Pokdarwis Kecamatan Manggar merupakan Mitra dalam program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan tema Strategi Pengembangan Pariwisata melalui Pemanfaatan Media Sosial. Integrasi antara Program pengabdian tersebut nantinya akan meningkatkan kapasitas serta keterampilan secara mandiri khalayak sasaran dalam mempraktekkan apa yang telah didapatkan pada saat program berlangsung. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan ialah 1) tahap pesiapan, 2) tahap pemberian materi, pelatihan, 3) tahap evaluasi pasca pelatihan.

Abstract

Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung merupakan salah satu provinsi penghasil perkebunan di Indonesia. Berdasarkan Badan Pusat Statistik (2021) sektor pertanian, kehutanan dan perikanan memberikan kontribusi pada Produk Domestik Bruto (PDRB) di Bangka Belitung sebesar 4,06 persen. Desa Kemuja merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Mendo Barat. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan sosialisasi informasi mengenai koagulan Asap cair tersebut kepada petani dan masyarakat Desa Kemuja. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan persiapan program, Memberikan sosialisasi tentang asap cair sebagai koagulan (penggumpal) getah karet yang ramah lingkungan serta memberikan pelatihan penggumpalan getah karet menggunakan asap cair kepada petani karet. Analisis yang dilakukan dengan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil kegiatan pendampingan adalah Petani karet di Desa Kemuja antusias mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan tentang asap cair sebagai koagulan (penggumpal) getah karet yang ramah lingkungan serta kegiatan pelatihan menggumpalkan getah karet menggunakan asap cair LISA, asap cair Fronthea, dan asap cair Deorub SOP dengan konsentrasi 15%.

Abstract

Ketatnya persaingan antar kedai kopi membuat konsumen akan lebih selektif saat memilih tempat tongkrongan dikarenakan banyaknya alternatif pilihan. Di sisi lain, cukup sulit bagi pelaku usaha untuk memahami dan mengikuti selera konsumen yang terus mengalami perubahan. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mempelajari perilaku generasi Z yang bersifat dinamis termasuk di dalamnya proses pengambilan keputusan pembelian yang dipengaruhi oleh cafe atmosphere dan gaya hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh cafe atmosphere dan gaya hidup terhadap keputusan pembelian generasi Z pada kedai kopi di Kota Pangkalpinang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari Bulan Maret sampai dengan April 2022 pada kedai kopi di Kota Pangkalpinang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling sebanyak 100 orang. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya hidup berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian generasi Z, sedangkan cafe atmosphere tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian generasi Z pada kedai kopi di Kota Pangkalpinang.
