Abstract

Community participation is needed in a development program, because the success of the program is closely related to community participation in running a program, including the implementation of PHBS. Environment-based diseases always occupy the top 10 diseases reported by health centers in Indonesia. Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) of the community is expected to prevent environment-based diseases. The household environment is a unit that is very instrumental in the implementation of PHBS habits so that dissemination to the community, especially housewives on the importance of PHBS as an effort to prevent environment-based diseases. Cases of environment-based diseases, especially diarrhea, pulmonary TB, and dengue fever in Padang City are still high. The Monographic Book Dissemination activity aims to upload public awareness by inviting community leaders, especially in three locations, Nanggalo, Kuranji and Koto tangah, starting from the ranks of the sub-district office, Kelurahan, teachers, youth, health cadres and housewives on the importance of clean and healthy living behavior in the family environment in preventing environment-based diseases. The activity was carried out in the form of presentations, inviting resource persons from environmental health experts, and distributing Monographic books "PHBS and Community Participation in Covid-19 Prevention". The results of the assessment of participants' knowledge before the dissemination activity were 61% with good knowledge and increased to 87% after implementation.By implementing clean and healthy living behaviors in everyday life, hopefully this can be one of the efforts in preventing environment-based disease infections.

Abstract

Vehicles with low speed will produce more exhaust emissions, especially CO gas. Exposure to air with CO gas can cause poisoning of the central nervous system and heart. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of motorized vehicles with levels of carbon monoxide (CO) in the air on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan and Jalan Lubuk Begalung, Padang City in 2022. The type of research used was analytical observational using a correlation test with a cross sectional design with a sample of 5 samples. Times per day at the same time. The results showed that Carbon Monoxide levels were positively correlated to the increase in the number of motorized vehicles with a value of r = 0.9. The number of motorized vehicles on Lubuk Begalung street is lower, humidity and wind speed are lower, the temperature is higher, while the number of motor vehicles on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan is higher, humidity and wind speed are higher and temperature are low. Carbon Monoxide levels on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan were higher at 3.242 ug/Nm3 and on Lubuk Begalung street at 2.572 ug/Nm3. For this reason, it is necessary to improve the quality of public transportation power by checking and repairing public transportation and reducing the use of privite vehicles and making green efforts on roads that can absorb pollutants to reduce the impact of motor vehicle exhaust emissions.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus transmitted through the bite of the Aedes sp mosquito. This disease is endemic in Padang City, where 11 sub-districts have been recorded as being infected with dengue fever, the 3 sub-districts with the highest number of dengue cases, one of which is Kuranji sub-district with the highest number of cases. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between controlling mosquito nests and the density of Aedes sp larvae. in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District, Padang City. This research design is analytical observation with a cross sectional approach. The research was carried out in September - December 2023. The population of this study was 460 families. Using a proportional random sampling technique using the Slovin formula, a sample of 82 families was obtained, and the data analysis used was the chi-square test statistic. The results of the research show that the implementation of controlling mosquito nests in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District is classified as poor (46.3%), larval density does not meet the quality standards, namely 91.5% (<95%), there is a relationship between controlling mosquito nests and Aedes larvae density. sp. with a p-value of 0.003. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between controlling mosquito nests and the density of Aedes sp larvae. in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District, Padang City. It is recommended that the Community Health Center conduct outreach and activate 1 house 1 jumantik and the community can control mosquito nests with the 3M Plus program periodically once a week so that it can break the chain of transmission of dengue fever.
