Abstract

This study aims to design and create teaching materials in the form of Student Activity Sheets based on Augmented Reality technology in the Moon Phases sub-material, in order to increase student motivation. The research design used is a Research and Development (R&D) type with a 4-D model consisting of four stages, namely, Define, Design, Develop and Desseminate. The subjects in this study consisted of 30 students of class VII MTs Negeri 1 Jember. The results of this study at the product feasibility level showed a kappa moment in terms of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, and language feasibility showing an average value of 0.81 with a very high eligibility category, which means that student worksheets can be used in school learning. Furthermore, the average result of the practicality level of Augmented Reality-based student worksheets products from the aspects of convenience, efficiency, and benefits is 0.83 for teachers and 0.83 for students with very high practicality categories. Thus the developed Augmented Reality-based Student Activity Sheets can help learning more efficiently and make students more interested and motivated to learn.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is one of the profiles of Pancasila students that students must possess in the independent curriculum. Critical thinking skills are one of the abilities that students need in solving problems. This research aims to describe the implementation of interactive Science ebooks based on PBL to enhance the critical thinking skills of students in the topic of environmental pollution. The research design used is quantitative descriptive. The research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of the study is all seventh-grade students of SMPN in Yogyakarta. The sample of this research is the seventh-grade student’s one of the junior high schools in Yogyakarta, selected through simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used is a multiple-choice critical thinking test with five indicators. Indicators of critical thinking abilities are explaining, evaluation, concluding, analysis, and designing strategies. The results showed an improvement in critical thinking skills through the N-gain test of 0.8, indicating a high category. The average indicator of students' critical thinking skills who obtained the highest score was the explaining indicator with an average of 90.5%, while the indicator with the lowest average among students' critical thinking skills was the analysis indicator with an average of 70.01%. This indicates that the use of Science Ebook Innovation Based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) can enhance the critical thinking skills of students. It is expected that this research can provide references for future researchers, and innovations related to interactive teaching materials can be developed not only for one subject but for all subjects in middle school science.

Abstract

In the context of contemporary education, learning tools are a crucial factor in facilitating adaptive, creative and student-centered learning to meet expected and desired learning outcomes and skills. This study aimed to produce PBL-based student worksheets on the effect of environmental temperature on body temperature that is suitable for in science learning activities and to find out their practicality to improve students' collaborative skills. This research and development (RD) study used the Four D model (define, design, development, and disseminate). The feasibility and practicality of student worksheets were known to four experts, six teachers, and 17 students. Testing the feasibility and practicality of PBL-based student worksheet to improve students' collaborative skills was carried out using a product feasibility questionnaire analysis with 5 aspects (content, language, presentation, graphics, and PBL components) and a product practicality questionnaire with 3 aspects (ease of use, attractiveness, and efficiency). The research results show that PBL-based student worksheets have an average total score of 138.2 with a 'very good' classification, showing positive results in terms of feasibility and practicality. So, this student worksheet can be used in science learning activities and can be used as a sufficient means to improve collaborative skills. Therefore, science teachers should adopt this PBL-based student worksheet to support their learning activities.

Abstract

Penelian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengkaji pengaruh gamifikasi berbantuan gimkit berbasis discovery learning terhadap ICT literacy peserta didik SMP N 1 Turi; (2) mengkaji pengaruh gamifikasi berbantuan gimkit berbasis discovery learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP N 1 Turi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi-experimental design, dengan jenis nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Turi dengan populasi seluruh kelas VIII. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel yang terpilih secara acak dengan cara mengundi 4 kelas yaitu kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen non test berupa angket ict literacy dan instrumen tes berupa soal pretest dan posttest berpikir kritis. Teknik analisis data untuk non test menggunakan uji paired sample t-test dan uji independent t-test. Sedangkan analisis data untuk tes menggunakan uji independent t-test, dan effect size. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan gamifikasi berbantuan gimkit berbasis discovery learning terhadap literasi ICT peserta didik SMP Negeri 1 Turi. Hasil uji paired t-test, di mana nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001) dan hasil uji independent t-test menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,008 (0,05); (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan gamifikasi berbantuan gimkit berbasis discovery learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP Negeri 1 Turi. Hasil uji independent t-test yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,023 dan hasil uji effect size menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,608 dengan kategori medium effect.
