Abstract

Indonesian for Foreign Speaker or Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) in Islamic Universities or PTKI grows rapidly, nationally and internationally, supported by strong regulation especially by Ministry of Religion Affair. It makes the existence of BIPA is able to contribute to develop world civilization, in accordance to the functions of language namely heuristics and referential. The objective of this research is to explain the contribution of BIPA in PTKI in developing the world civilization. The research used analytical descriptive method with qualitative approach. The sources of the data were informants from UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, UIN Tulungagung. They were teachers of BIPA in PTKI; managers of BIPA PTKI; International Office PTKI, managers of Indonesian Education Department in PTKI; documents, and events. The techniques collecting the data are in-depth interview, content analysis, and observation. The data were analyzed using interactive model by Miles & Huberman. The result of the study showed that BIPA PTKI was able to develop the world civilization. It was proven by the increasing numbers of foreign students who studied in PTKI, the delegated lectures of PTKI to teach delicate Indonesian culture, introduce moderate Islam to the world’s citizens so they can be accepted well by the world’s citizen. For this reason, Indonesia, especially PTKI, language, culture, and moderate Islam are well-known by the world’s citizens resulting the increasing numbers of cooperation and MoU between PTKI and many national and international institutions.

Abstract

 Arabic has a wide contribution toward Indonesian vocabularies, literary and commentary. This writing is aimed to describe the contribution of Arabic toward Indonesian vocabularies in Q.S. Al-Baqarah. The research uses qualitative descriptive method to describe the language forms in surah Al-Baqarah and their influences in Indonesian vocabularies. This research is a library research through content analysis techniques. The primary source of data is verses in Al-Qur’an Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 1 to 286, and the secondary source is Great Indonesian Dictionary Fifth Edition (Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia Edisi V/KBBI V). The result of the study shows that there are 52 Indonesian vocabularies come from Arabic; mostly the word “kitab” which appears 19 times, and the least ones are the words mutakin, gaib, rabi, akhir, mukmin, kulub, muslih, maut, lillahi, alim, khalifah, khusyuk, syafaat, furqan, tobat, mati, rahmat, jahiliah, mukmin, magrib, masjid, nikah, duafa, syahid which appear once (1); translation from Arabic to Indonesian in Surah Al-Baqarah is mostly literal translation so it causes a problem in the word “qulub” the plural form of “kalbu” (heart), based on Indonesian grammar, the word is written “kalbu”. The letter “q” which is adapted from Arabic is written as “k” in Indonesian. People who understand Arabic will surely make it a problem because “kalbu” in Arabic (kaf, lam, ba’) means dog. Meanwhile, “qalbu” (qaf, lam, ba’) means heart. For this reason, the writing of the word “qolbu” or “qalbu” is still used by many people or media up to now.

Abstract

Abstract: Abstrak: Kearifan lokal merupakan potensi yang harus dijaga dan dilestarikan di tengah derasnya arus modernisasi dan globalisasi. Salah satu upaya untuk menjaga eksistensi kearifan lokal adalah melalui media penulisan buku cerita anak. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang penyusunan cerita anak berbasis kearifan lokal. Pengabdian yang dilakukan bagi FLP Wonogiri ini diasarkan pada pertimbangan bahwa FLP Wonogiri belum mendapatkan pelatihan menulis buku cerita anak berbasis kearifan lokal. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan  ini adalah wawancara, presentasi materi, diskusi. Pelatihan ini dilakukan pada bulan Marert 2022. Kegiatan pelatihan ini berimplikasi positif bagi peserta, sebab sebelum diadakannya pelatihan, naskah cerita banyak yang masih menggunakan bahasa remaja, belum mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal. Namun setelah diadakan pelatihan, hasil cerita anak yang disusun semakin inovatif dan variatif dengan memperhatikan beberapa unsur, seperti pemilihan bahasa yang disesuaikan perkembangan kognitif anak, pengintegrasian kearifan lokal, dan pengembangan ide cerita berbasis pendidikan karakter.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to reveal the meaning of Covid-19 memes in social media using study of Roland Barthes semiology. In addition, this research also explains the social representation in Covid-19 memes. The method of the research is qualitative descriptive using technical analysis of Roland Barthes semiology. The technique of collecting data is based on two resources. The primary data are collections of memes about Covid 19 in some social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Web Blog. The secondary data are references supporting the topic of the research. In validity technique, the primary data are collected based on the topic of the discussion. After that, the data are processed descriptively by explaining, and comparing the information gained from many resources. Then, the data are reduced and presented. The result of the study shows that the creators tried to reveal social condition through Covid-19 memes. The social conditions were presented in some types of memes, namely critical memes, parodist memes, and motivational memes. In relation to meaning presentation, some social problems were revealed Covid-19 memes. Keywords: Meme, Covid-19, Social Media, Roland Barthes Semiology

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the application of basic level BIPA Sahabatku Indonesia teaching materials at IAIN Surakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The method is used to describe and explain the basic level of BIPA Sahabatku Indonesia teaching materials used in BIPA learning at IAIN Surakarta. This research requires direct study in the field to get optimal results. The place chosen to conduct research is at the BIPA institution in IAIN Surakarta which has a new BIPA institution for foreign students. Data sources are classified into two parts, namely informants and events. The results showed in the BIPA learning process in Surakarta IAIN the main teaching material used was Indonesian Friends of Primary and A1 in each class. The learning process of using teaching materials runs well and is structured according to the contents of the book. However, textbooks that are more appropriate to be used at PTKIN are still needed so that the learning objectives can run optimally. Special BIPA SKL is needed for PTKIN so that learning outcomes are in accordance with the right goals and have a clear handle, especially in the realm of Islamic Studies.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu mendeskripsikan resepsi pembaca novel Faith and The City karya Hanum Salsabiela Rais dan Rangga Almahendra. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi pustaka dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis isi dokumen dan teknik wawancara. Peneliti menggunakan berbagai teknik pengumpulan data (analisis isi dokumen yang mendalam) dan menggunakan teori kajian resepsi sastra. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis model interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan resepsi pembaca novel Faith and The City karya Hanum Salsabiela Rais dan Rangga Almahendra ini memiliki persepsi yang tidak jauh berbeda, yaitu mereka sepakat bahwa novel Faith and The City merupakan novel yang yang sangat unik, menarik, dan representatif dibaca oleh semua kalangan. Banyak pembelajaran dan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang positif dapat diambil pelajarannya bagi pembaca. Kata Kunci:

Therefore, the concept of religious moderation needs to be applied in various fields, one of which is in the field of education. This study aims to explain qualitatively the application of the concept of religious moderation in Indonesian language learning in Islamic schools and university's tri dharma activities including Lectures on Indonesian Language Courses in the Indonesian Tadris Study Program(Tadris Bahasa Indonesia/TBI) UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The data sources are documents, informants, and events. Data collection techniques used content/document analysis, interviews, and observations. The data validity technique uses triangulation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model. The results of the research are shown by the application of the concept of religious moderation through the university's tri dharma, namely education, research, and community service. In the field of education, it can be started with the TBI Study Program curriculum which incorporates the values of moderation in each subject, this can be seen in the RPS, as well as student activities with the theme of religious moderation; In addition, there is a compulsory faculty subject, namely the Constitutional Court of Religious Moderation Insights. In the field of research, there are no published scientific, technological or research papers from lecturers or students, all of which are still in the process of being published. In the field of PkM, Continuing Professional Development (PKB) training was conducted for Indonesian language teachers in Sumatra and Java. This activity is a work program of the Ministry of Religion's REP-MEQR, in collaboration with the World Bank. The conclusion of this research is that the TBI Study Program is considered successful in applying the concept of religious moderation in the field of education and PkM, for research needs to be improved again.

Abstract

The principle of politness in using language should be concerned by language users in communication. Film industry in Indonesia can be example for the people who watch and listen to the language used. This, ofcourse, will affect the use of language use in Indonesian society. The objective of the article is to study about language politeness in Minang language used by the characters of Hayati and Zainudin in communicating. The communication practice among characters was studied to identify the politeness of language used. The research was descriptive qualitative using content analysis and literary study. The source of the data was a film entitled "Tenggelamnya Kapal van der Wijck" from novel by Hamka. The data in this research came from the characters' dialogue in this film. The data, then, were analyzed using the theory of language politeness to identify the difference of language politeness between characters of Hayati and Zainudin. The result of the research shows that Minang language used by the characters applied the rule of language politeness.Keywords: Language politeness; language meaning; language harmony.

Abstract

Buku ajar merupakan salah satu komponen penunjang pembelajaran yang sangat  penting keberadaannya. Baik dalam konteks pendidikan formal maupun non formal. Untuk itu pemilihan bahan ajar yang baik dan berkualitas dapat dilihat dari isi bahan ajar tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kelayakan isi pada buku ajar Sahabatku Indonesia untuk Anak Sekolah B1. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif  kualitatif  dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian pada buku ajar Sahabatku Indonesia  sudah layak digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar BIPA. Persentase kelayakannya pada buku ajar tersebut, pada bab pertama pertansenya kelayakannya sebesar  87,50%, bab  kedua persentasenya kelayakannya sebesar 77,50 %, bab tiga persentasenya kelayakannya sebesar 75,00%, bab empat persentase kelayakannya sebesar 72,50%, dan, pada bab lima persentase kelayaknnya sebesar 67,50%. Jadi antara bab satu sampai bab limapersentase kelayakan dalam buku ajar tersebut semakin menurun. Berdasarkan persentase kelayakan lima bab buku tersebut kelayakan isi secara keseluruhan diperoleh 76,00%. Hal tersebut mencakup, 1) Kesesuaian Standar Kompetensi dan Kompetensi Dasar meliputi tiga indikator yaitu, kelengkapan materi, keluasan materi dan,  kedalaman materi. 2) Keakuratan materi terdapat tiga indikator yaitu, akurasi prosedur, akurasi soal dan, akurasi fakta, contoh, dan isi. 3) Materi pendukung pelajar terbagi menjadi empat indikator yaitu, keterkinian fitur, contoh, dan rujukan, penalaran, penerapan dan, kemenarikan materi.
