Abstract

The present study employed a quasi-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design to examine the effectiveness of the STEM-CTL model in promoting critical thinking among elementary school students. The study sample consisted of 34 students from 4th grade at an elementary school. They were selected using the non-probability sampling technique. The independent research variable was STEM-CTL, while the dependent variables consisted of critical thinking aspects, including the ability to formulate a problem, the ability to give arguments, the ability to make deductions and inductions, and the ability to draw inferences. Data on participants’ critical thinking were collected using a test and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (paired sample t-test). The analysis results revealed a significant effect of STEM-CTL on participants’ critical thinking skills (at a significance level of 0.000 > 0.05). Hence, H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. The N-gain score was medium (0.63), indicating that STEM-CTL effectively promoted critical thinking skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini secara mendalam menginvestigasi bentuk-bentuk skeptisisme gender yang terungkap dalam novel "Perempuan Berkalung Sorban" sambil merinci faktor-faktor penyebab yang melatarbelakangi fenomena tersebut. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa perempuan dalam novel ini secara konsisten diabaikan dan dihakimi, terbatas pada peran konvensional sebagai ibu rumah tangga, serta dihadapkan pada larangan berpendapat. Anisa, sebagai tokoh utama, mengalami berbagai bentuk kekerasan dalam rumah tangga, termasuk kekerasan seksual, fisik, dan psikis, yang memberikan gambaran realistis tentang ketidaksetaraan gender. penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan perjuangan tokoh perempuan dalam mencapai kesetaraan dalam pendidikan, yang dianggap sebagai langkah krusial untuk melawan norma-norma patriarki yang membatasi peran perempuan. Upaya untuk menyudahi pernikahan juga menjadi bagian dari perjuangan mereka untuk mengukuhkan posisi dan hak-hak perempuan. Selain itu, penelitian mencatat bahwa faktor penyebab skeptisisme gender melibatkan perlakuan berbeda terhadap perempuan dan laki-laki, praktik tradisi perjodohan yang masih berakar kuat dalam masyarakat, dan penafsiran agama yang cenderung mendukung ketidaksetaraan gender dengan melebihkan hak-hak laki-laki. penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa skeptisisme gender dalam novel ini tidak hanya mencerminkan ketidakadilan sosial terhadap perempuan, tetapi juga menjadi cermin dari realitas yang dihadapi oleh banyak perempuan dalam masyarakat yang diwarnai oleh norma patriarki dan budaya perjodohan. Dengan menggali lebih dalam bentuk-bentuk ketidaksetaraan gender dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mendasarinya, penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih kaya tentang kompleksitas isu-isu gender yang dihadapi oleh karakter perempuan dalam karya sastra ini. Sebagai hasilnya, penelitian ini tidak hanya mengungkapkan fenomena skeptisisme gender, tetapi juga mempertajam pandangan kita terhadap perjuangan perempuan dalam menghadapi ketidaksetaraan gender yang melekat dalam struktur masyarakatnya.

Abstract

Sign language is the language used by the deaf to communicate. In general, there are two types of sign languages used in Indonesia, namely SIBI (Indonesian sign language system) and BISINDO (Indonesian sign language). Of the two, the sign language most often used by the deaf is BISINDO, because BISINDO is considered easier to understand. This study aims to explain the use of BISINDO in Deaf Indonesian language classes in the Surakarta Gerkatin organization. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data in the form of image documentation. The data source is in the form of sign language learning process. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, recording and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques use interactive models. The results showed that the movements used in BISINDO learning at Gerkatin Surakarta involved the use of facial expressions, body language, arms and hands. There is a lot of vocabulary taught such as learning words, Indonesian, not yet, like, where, like, small, eat, alone, understand, don't know, work, sleep, words, healthy, black, fat, thin, color, about, purpose, lesson, early. If you look closely at the vocabulary taught, it has different conceptual sign languages. Like a like sign, demonstrated with the position of the hands in front of the mouth, then the palms open up plus the movement of the hands sticking from the chest towards the other person. Small gesture, in front of the chest with the tip of the thumb against the ring finger and the other three fingers open upwards, accompanied by a plucking motion of the two attached fingers. All the movements taught are made natural so that they are easy to understand according to the interpretation of the deaf. Thus, it is hoped that this variation of BISINDO's sign language will be increasingly recognized and widely used in teaching deaf sign language.

Abstract

Tourism is a vital sector globally, encompassing travel, leisure, and associated industries that significantly bolster economies, especially in developed nations. Indonesia's tourism potential holds promise for economic growth through increased visitor numbers and new destination developments. The hotel industry, a cornerstone of global tourism, adapts to technological advancements and shifting consumer behaviors to maintain competitiveness. This study investigates the efficacy of Instagram as a digital marketing tool in enhancing hotel room bookings, focusing on Whiz Prime Hotel Sudirman Makassar. Methods included direct observation, engagement analysis, and stakeholder interviews. The findings underscore Instagram's pivotal role in showcasing hotel amenities, promotions, and exclusive offers to a global audience, thereby fostering direct engagement and influencing booking decisions. Effective strategies and challenges in leveraging Instagram were identified, highlighting the importance of innovative content, real-time responsiveness, and adaptation to digital trends. Despite challenges such as market saturation and evolving consumer preferences, proactive measures like enhancing content quality and collaborating with influencers can amplify Instagram's impact on room sales. Recommendations include continuous staff training, strategic partnerships, and analytics utilization to optimize marketing efforts and sustain growth in the competitive digital tourism landscape. This study contributes insights into leveraging Instagram for hotel marketing, emphasizing its role in driving profitability and enhancing brand visibility within the dynamic hospitality sector.

Abstract

Interest rate fixing is a monetary tool used to control the money supply and hence inflation by the central bank. However, it cannot be applied to Islamic banks due to the prohibition of interest in Islam. This paper examines whether the central bank may implement rate fixing for Islamic banks, given that interest is forbidden, and the fixing of prices by the government is also generally prohibited, according to Hadith and the consensus of Islamic jurists. A documentation study was conducted to comprehend the viewpoints of classical and contemporary Islamic jurists and the National Shariah Board−Indonesian Ulama Council's fatwa. The analysis used Islamic law methodology (uşūl fiqh), which included combining the opinions of classical and contemporary Islamic jurists through the al-jam’u and the legal maxim approach, "al-‘ādah muhakkamah" approach to the custom practiced by Islamic banks, and the maqāşid approach. The research findings illustrate that Islamic banks have been using rates to calculate profits as the National Shariah Board−Indonesian Ulama Council accepts the notion of the time value of money, provided it is not utilized in loan transactions. This condition could enable the central bank to set the rates for Islamic banks, which is an effective tool for controlling the money supply and achieving economic stability, thus contributing to the realization of community welfare (maslahah 'ammah).

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has enabled the implementation of Joyful Learning, an innovative approach that enhances student engagement, motivation, and comprehension. Grounded in multiple pedagogical frameworks—Constructivism, Meaningful Learning, Flow Theory, and Multiple Intelligences—Joyful Learning emphasizes interactive, student-centered education. This study employs a conceptual analysis approach to assess the feasibility of Joyful Learning in digital learning environments by identifying key implementation challenges, including traditional teaching paradigms misaligned with digital-native learners, rigid curricula, outdated assessment methods, limited teacher readiness, and inadequate technological infrastructure. By synthesizing theoretical perspectives with digital learning strategies such as AI-driven personalization, gamification, and adaptive assessment, this study offers practical solutions for overcoming these barriers. The findings underscore the necessity of interdisciplinary collaboration, professional development for educators, and enhanced digital infrastructure to facilitate the effective integration of Joyful Learning. While digital technology presents transformative opportunities, its successful application depends on systemic support and policy alignment. Future research should explore long-term learning outcomes and adaptability across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Various threats of conflict and egoism based on differences in interests can occur in the Hutumuri society. However, the badati inherited by the ancestors and traditional elders, carried out by the people in Hutumuri, has been proven in protecting every member of the local community to maintain the society integration of Hutumuri. Therefore, it is urgent to construct badati theologically as a wise and contextual basis for social relations in Hutumuri society to maintain stability and peace internally in Negeri Hutumuri, Maluku society, Indonesia, as is the aim of this research. The research method used here is qualitative research with descriptive analysis of data collected through observation, interviews with traditional and religious leaders in Hutumuri, and literature study. With the contextual theological perspective initiated by Stephen B. Bevans, which is in dialogue with the cosmology, badati practices of the Hutumuri society, along with a study of Galatians 6: 2, the finding of this research is that badati can become a theological source for strengthening society integrity in Hutumuri. Theologically badati is cooperation based on reciprocal hospitality, solidarity, and the fraternal nobility of society. The implication is the strengthening of common life in this nation which needs to be preserved in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Metode Cooperative Script terhadap kemampuan keterampilan berbicara siswa Kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Selong tahun pelajaran 2021. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berbentuk eksperimen dengan quasi eksperimental. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa Kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Selong Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Jumlah Kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Selong ada 2 kelas dengan jumlah keseluruhan 60 siswa. Selanjutnya teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik simple random sampling. Adapun kelas yang terpilih sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas IXa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IXb sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah tes. Pengujian dilakukan secara statistik terhadap hasil post-test masing-masing kelompok dengan menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan nilai thitung= 2,7 dan ttabel= 1,671 yang berarti thitung ≥ ttabel. Maka hasil pengujian hipotesis adalah Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, menunjukkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan kelas yang menggunakan metode Cooperative Script dan konvensional. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan metode Cooperative Script berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan keterampilan berbicara siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya pada materi diskusi Kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Selong tahun pelajaran 2020/2021.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Wordwall as a learning medium to improve the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in the Arabic language subject at MI Darus Sa’adah. Based on field data, it was found that students faced difficulties in learning Arabic because it is a foreign language, which consequently led to low motivation and enthusiasm for learning. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a focus on the theme of Indonesian cultural diversity, delivered through interactive activities using Wordwall.The results revealed that the use of Wordwall significantly influenced students’ engagement and enthusiasm. Before the implementation, only six students actively participated in the learning process; after using Wordwall, 14 students showed increased motivation and enthusiasm for learning. Students’ level of motivation improved, as evidenced by their enthusiasm during the learning activities and their mastery of the material at the end of the lesson.This study highlights two crucial stages in the implementation process: (1) the planning stage, which includes analyzing students’ needs and designing appropriate learning media for Arabic lessons, and (2) the classroom implementation stage, where the game-based and interactive features of Wordwall encouraged active participation and fostered a positive learning environment. These findings indicate that Wordwall is an effective and feasible learning medium to enhance students’ motivation in learning Arabic at the madrasah ibtidaiyah level.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) di Thailand menunjukkan perkembangan signifikan. Seiring perkembangan tersebut, evaluasi kompetensi berbahasa pemelajar perlu digalakkan. Terlebih, kompetensi menulis sebagai kompetensi aktif-produktif dinilai paling sulit dipraktikkan. Salah satu upaya evaluasi yang dapat dilakukan adalah analisis kesalahan berbahasa berupa penggunaan prefiks /me-/ sebagai afiks paling produktif dan wajib dikuasai. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kesalahan penggunaan prefiks /me-/ pada tugas menulis pemelajar BIPA Thailand. Penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik dasar pengumpulan data berupa teknik sadap dan teknik lanjutan catat. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kesalahan berbahasa menurut Tarigan & Tarigan (2011). Langkah kerja analisis kesalahan berbahasa itu adalah mengumpulkan sampel kesalahan; mengidentifikasi kesalahan; menjelaskan kesalahan; mengklasifikasikan kesalahan; dan mengevaluasi kesalahan. Validitas diuji menggunakan referensial, sedangkan uji reliabilitas menggunakan intra-rater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan tujuh wujud kesalahan penggunaan prefiks /me-/, yakni (1) penghilangan prefiks /me-/; (2) bunyi yang seharusnya luluh tidak diluluhkan; (3) peluluhan bunyi yang seharusnya tidak luluh; (4) ketidaktepatan peluluhan bunyi konsonan; (5) penggantian morf; (6) penyingkatan morf, serta (7) ketidaktepatan pembentukan bentuk dasar. Kesalahan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor individu maupun di luar individu. Kesalahan penggunaan prefiks /me-/ sebagai bagian kesalahan berbahasa perlu dicegah dan diatasi melalui peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dan evaluasi kompetensi bahasa kontinu.
