Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian untuk mengambangkan media belajar berupa e-book Virus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Mengembangkan media belajar e-book materi Virus yang layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli media dan guru dan 2) Mengetahui respons peserta didik terhadap e-book materi virus yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendidikan biologi. Penelitian pendidikan biologi menggunakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (RnD) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation) tetapi terbatas sampai tahap development. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu, e-book materi Virus dinyatakan sangat layak oleh ahli media dan guru, serta dinyatakan layak oleh ahli materi. Media e-book juga direspons sangat baik oleh siswa untuk digunakan sebagai media belajar

Abstract

Abstrak.Anggrek merupakan tanaman hias yang memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan konsentrasi optimal zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acid (2,4-D) dan  Thidiazuron (TDZ) terhadap pertumbuhan tunas aksiler anggrek Dendrobium Red Emperor Prince. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu konsentrasi 2,4-D dan TDZ ((0,0), (0,4), (0,5,3), (1,2), (1,5,1) dan (2,0)) dan posisi nodus (atas, tengah dan bawah) sebanyak 6 ulangan. Data dianailisis dengan menggunakan two-way ANOVA dan uji lanjut menggunakan DMRT 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa konsentrasi (0 ppm,4 ppm) mampu menginduksi tunas aksiler dan (1,5 ppm dan 1 ppm) mampu menginduksi akar anggrek Dendrobium Red Emperor Prince lebih baik. Kata kunci: 2,4-D, TDZ, induksi tunas aksiler, Dendrobium Red Emperor PrinceAbstract. Orchids are ornamental plants that have high economic value. This study aims to determine the effect and optimal concentration of plant growth regulators (ZPT) 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acid (2,4-D) and Thidiazuron (TDZ) on the growth of axillary shoots of the Dendrobium Red Emperor Prince orchid. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 treatment factors, namely concentrations of 2,4-D and TDZ ((0,0), (0,4), (0,5,3), (1,2), ( 1,5,1) and (2,0)) and node positions (top, middle and bottom) for 6 repetitions. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and follow-up testing using 5% DMRT. The results showed that concentrations (0 ppm.4 ppm) were able to induce axillary shoots and (1.5 ppm and 1 ppm) were able to induce the roots of Dendrobium Red Emperor Prince orchids better.Keywords: 2,4-D, TDZ, axillary shoot induction, Dendrobium Red Emperor PrinceOrchids are ornamental plants that have high economic value. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Menghasilkan e-module interaktif berbasis model discovery learning materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI yang layak berdasarkan penilaian oleh validator ahli materi dan ahli media, dan 2) Menghasilkan e-module interaktif berbasis model discovery learning materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI yang praktis berdasarkan penilaian oleh guru Biologi dan siswa SMA kelas XI MIPA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (RD) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Namun, penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap development. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah penilaian kelayakan e-module oleh validator ahli materi dan media, serta penilaian kepraktisan e-module melalui uji coba keterbacaan oleh guru Biologi dan siswa SMA kelas XI MIPA. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket validasi dan angket uji coba keterbacaan. Data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) Produk e-module dinilai dalam kategori sangat layak berdasarkan penilaian oleh validator ahli materi dan ahli media; dan 2) Produk e-module dinilai dalam kategori praktis berdasarkan hasil uji coba keterbacaan oleh guru Biologi dan dinilai dalam kategori sangat praktis oleh siswa SMA kelas XI MIPA untuk digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran Biologi.

Abstract

The scientific ability of students who are under international average standards compels them to continuously improve education quality in Indonesia. The inequality understanding of scientific process skills in districts like in Sragen is worth the attention. Teachers as the education core should be able to professionally develop the scientific process skills of participants. The research aims to determine the professional influence of teachers on the skills, including knowing the profile of the skills, mastery of the skills’ aspects. This research is a quantitative descriptive survey. The study was conducted on 198 students and biology teachers. Collecting student data with tests and teachers with questionnaires and interviews. Results show the skills in Sragen categorized as medium to average 19.22 of 32, the highest mastery of the skills’ aspects are communicating and predicting, the lowest is identifying variables, collecting and processing data, there is a professional influence of teachers on the skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of science literacy skills of students in X class at high schools in Yogyakarta City in the subject of biology based on PISA science literacy indicators. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the survey method. The data collection technique used tests in the form of questions based on science literacy indicators in the competency aspect. The data analysis technique is inferential statistics with non-parametric statistics using the Kruskal-Wallis test to determine whether there are significant differences in each school. The research results show that the science literacy skills of public high school students in Yogyakarta City are in the low category with an average score of 57,88%. Further tests indicate significant differences among each school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon kedelai varietas Deja 2 pada kondisi cekaman kekeringan dengan parameter akumulasi malondialdehid (MDA), kandungan katalase (CAT) dan struktur anatomi akar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan eksperimen melalui kultur in vitro biji menggunakan media ½ MS (Murashige & Skoog) yang diberi PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) 6000. Variabel bebas pada penelitian ini adalah konsentrasi PEG meliputi 0%; 2,5%; 5%; dan 7,5%. Variabel terikatnya adalah kuantitas akumulasi MDA, kandungan CAT dan karakter anatomis akar kedelai Deja 2. Variabel terkendali meliputi jenis dan cara penggunaan PEG, kondisi lingkungan, dan karakteristik benih yang digunakan. Pengujian MDA menggunakan metode dari Gechev dengan pembacaan spektrofotometer 532 nm dan 600 nm. Pengujian kandungan katalase dilakukan dengan metode Aebi dan Lester dengan pembacaan spektrofotometer 240 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akumulasi MDA meningkat seiring meningkatnya konsentrasi PEG sampai konsentrasi 5%, dan menurun pada konsentrasi 7,5%. Kandungan CAT juga meningkat bahkan sampai pada PEG 7,5%. Perlakuan PEG tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan pada luas akar, panjang stele dan tebal korteks melainkan pada tebal struktur epidermisnya.

Abstract

Nowadays, the ability to think critically and motivation in learning is something that must be owned by students. One of the learning models that can improve both is learning cycle 7E combined with e-worksheet. The purpose of this research is to develop e-worksheet based on learning cycle 7E to improve critical thinking skills and learning motivation of grade XI high school students as seen from the results of feasibility and practicality tests. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study with the ADDIE model which is applied until the development stage only. The feasibility of the product was assessed by one material expert lecturer and one media expert lecturer and the practicality of the product was assessed by 5 biology teachers. The results obtained based on the product quality assessment, obtained a value from a material expert lecturer with an ideal percentage of 83.9% in the feasible category, a media expert of 83.3% which is in the feasible category, and the results of the practicality test by the teacher obtained an average ideal percentage of 94.5%. Therefore, e-worksheet based on learning cycle 7E can be used to improve critical thinking skills and student learning motivation.

Abstract

Rhizobacteria are endophytic bacteria that inhabit plant tissues and the rhizosphere, producing secondary metabolites that support plant growth. This study is an exploratory descriptive investigation aimed at characterizing and identifying IAA- and phytohormone-producing endophytic rhizobacteria isolated from the roots of corn plants (Zea mays L.). The rhizobacteria isolates producing IAA phytohormones were obtained by culturing bacteria in Yeast Peptone Broth (YPB) medium supplemented with L-tryptophan. Bacterial cultures (1 mL) were treated with Salkowski reagent, and absorbance was measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 530 nm. From 14 isolates, five were identified as producing the highest levels of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), ranging from 17 to 50 ppm. Identification was conducted using the profile matching method to determine the genus of each rhizobacterium by comparing its characteristics with reference genera. Based on 62 tested traits, the five isolates exhibited diverse features, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, coccus-shaped morphology, circular and irregular colony configurations, lobate and undulate margins, convex, umbonate, and raised elevations, and colony colors ranging from white to yellowish, along with varied physiological (biochemical) test results. The identification results revealed bacteria with a similarity index of ≥70%, suggesting proximity to the genus Micrococcus (77.4%, isolate N), Rhizobium (80.6%, isolate D), and Shewanella (80.6%, isolate B; 87.1%, isolate V; and 91.9%, isolate E). This research provides an important contribution to the development of biofertilizers aimed at enhancing the growth and productivity of corn plants sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of integrating the Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) approach and debate method in biology learning to improve students' reflective thinking skills on the topic of environmental pollution. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research results were analyzed using N-Gain scores and an Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed a significant increase in students' reflective thinking skills after implementing the integration of SSI and debate (t = –5.857; sig. = 0.000). In conclusion, the integration of the SSI approach and debate method has a positive impact on the development of students' reflective thinking skills, especially on the topic of environmental pollution.   Keywords: Biology, Debate, Environmental pollution, Reflective thinking, SSI

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is one of the higher-order thinking skills that students must possess, as it enables them to apply scientific knowledge to real-life situations. This study aimed to investigate the effect of problem-based learning (PBL), based on coastal abrasion cases, on improving students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design was employed. The research was conducted in two classes: the experimental class used PBL, while the control class applied Discovery Learning. The sample consisted of 60 students. Instruments included tests designed to measure both conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability. Data were analysed using ANOVA. The results showed that the significance value was less than 0.05. This indicates that students who received PBL instruction achieved significantly higher scores in conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability than those taught using Discovery Learning. These findings suggest that PBL based on real-world issues, such as coastal abrasion, is effective in enhancing students’ scientific thinking and problem-solving skills
