Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan hypothetico-deductive reasoning (HDR) dalam learning cycle terhadap keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini berbentuk kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain pretest-postest non-equivalent control group yaitu kelas A sebagai kelompok eksperimen bermodelkan HDR-Learning Cycle (HDR-LC), serta kelompok kontrol yaitu kelas B bermodelkan Learning Cycle (LC) dan kelas C bermodelkan Direct Instruction (DI). Sumber data KPS-intelektual dan pemahaman konsep diperoleh dengan instrumen tes sedangkan KPS-manual diperoleh dengan observasi performansi. Data dianalisis dengan MANOVA dilanjutkan uji Bonferroni, atau uji Kruskal-Wallis dilanjutkan uji Games-Howell untuk data nonparametrik. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu: (a) penerapan HDR-LC (mean: 86,4) secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap KPS-intelektual dibandingkan model LC (mean: 78,3) dan DI (mean: 75,1). Sedangkan KPS-manual kelas HDR-LC (mean: 64,3) dibandingkan kelas LC (mean: 87,4) dan DI (mean: 82,3) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dengan pengaruh negatif. (b) penerapan HDR-LC (mean: 84,8) secara signifikan berpengaruh potisif terhadap pemahaman konsep siswadibandingkan model LC (mean: 61,7) dan DI (mean: 66,6).

Abstract

Social attitudes are needed by students in improving communication and collaboration skills in the 4.0 industrial revolution era. This study aimed to identify the effect of the jigsaw learning model as a community learning strategy on students' social attitudes in digestive system material. This quasi-experimental research was using a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population used was eighth-graders in Padang. The samples involved were two groups selected through a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was observation sheets to measure four aspects of social attitudes, including social discipline, tolerance, self-confidence, and collaboration. Data were analyzed using one-way ANCOVA. The result showed that the jigsaw as a community learning strategy has a significant effect on students' social attitudes (p-value < 0.05). As a recommendation, the jigsaw learning model can be applied to promote students' social attitudes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan LKS biologi berbasis masalah yang layak untuk topik perubahan lingkungan/iklim dan daur ulang limbah serta mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan LKS biologi berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan menurut model Borg Gall. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket validasi LKS, angket karakter peduli lingkungan, soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah, lembar observasi penilaian produk daur ulang limbah dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa LKS biologi berbasis masalah layak untuk topik perubahan lingkungan/iklim dan daur ulang limbah dilihat dari hasil penilaian pada aspek kelayakan isi, kebahasaan, penyajian dan kegrafikan termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, LKS biologi berbasis masalah efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa.Kata Kunci: LKS biologi berbasis masalah, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, karakter peduli lingkungan Developing Problem-Based Biology Worksheet to Improve Problems Solving Skills and Environment Care Character AbstractThe purposes of this research are to produce a proper problem-based biology worksheet for the topic of environment/climate changing and waste recycling and to know the effectiveness of using the problem-based biology worksheet on the students’ problem solving skill and environment care character. This research is research and development model according to Brog and Gall The data were collected through questionnaire of worksheet and environment care character validity, the test of problem solving skills, observation sheet of assessment in waste recycling product and observation sheet of learning process. The results of the research showed that problem-based biology worksheet was appropriate for the topic of environment/climate changing and waste recycling, in terms of the contain, the language, the presentation, and the graphic of the worksheet were included in were good category, problem-based biology worksheet was effective to increase the student problem solving skill and caring environment care character.Keywords: problem-based biology worksheet, problem solving skill, environment care character

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) menggunakan model pengembangan yang diadaptasi dariBorg dan Gall. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran Biologi dengan model Guided Inquiry yang layak untuk meningkatkan creative thinking siswa dan (2) mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran model Guided Inquiry untuk meningkatkan creative thinking siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 2 Bantul tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa observasi, angket, dan tes tertulis. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini berupa: (1) perangkat pembelajaran biologi dengan model Guided Inquiry yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan creative thinking siswa dan (2) pembelajaran dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran model Guided Inquiry berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan creative thinking siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS pada materi limbah yang layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi, 2) mengetahui keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS pada materi limbah terhadap motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. R&D ini menggunakan model 4-D yang diadaptasi dari Thiagarajan, et al. (1974), meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan dissemminate. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. 1)  Perangkat pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS pada materi limbah untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang dihasilkan mempunyai kelayakan sangat baik sebagai perangkat pembelajaran biologi di SMA. 2) Pengimplementasian perangkat pembelajaran tersebut efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Perbedaan motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa tampak di kelas eksperimen, dimana motivasi siswa meningkat sebesar 5,81 point dan kemampuan berpikir kritis meningkat sebesar 65,16 point, sedangkan di kelas kontrol, motivasi siswa meningkat sebesar 5,35 point dan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 61,50 point. Developing a cooperative teaching of TPS type to increase the motivation and cts of the student AbstractThis study aims to: 1) produce TPS type cooperative learning device on waste material which is fit for use in biology class, 2) discover the effectiveness of TPS type cooperative learning device on waste material on students’ motivation and critical thinking skill. This study was a research using by R&D model 4-D which was adapted  from Thiagarajan, et al. (1974) which consists of define, design, develop, and  disseminate. The research results are as follows: 1) Cooperative learning type of TPS device on waste material to increase students’ motivation and critical thinking skill produced has good feasibility according to material experts, media experts, biology teachers, and associates’ assessments. 2) The implementation of the learning device is effective in increasing students’ motivation and critical thinking skill. The differences of students’ motivation and critical thinking skill are obvious in the experimental class, in which students’ motivation increased for by 5.81 points and critical thinking skill increased by 65.16 points, while in control class, students’ motivation increased by 5.35 points and critical thinking skill by 61.50 points.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to map elementary school students’ creativity in science process skills (SPS) of life aspects in science subjects viewed from their divergent thinking patterns using written tests whose items were fitted with Partial Credit Model (PCM). The measurement used a test validated using the IRT approach published in JEE journal in 2015. The trials employed four sets of test, each comprising 20 items completed with anchor items which were fitted referring to PCM. The measurements were performed with larger scale on 14 regional technical implementation unit (RTIU) in Yogyakarta Special Province in five regencies/cities to students of grades IV, V, and VI. The findings showed that the higher the grade level, the higher of the testees’ scores would be. There were some testees who did not have divergent thinking ability and they obtained a score of 0 The divergent thinking ability of the students was not related to the regency/city where an RTIU was located.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis outdoor learning di Sekolah menengah pertama yang ditinjau dari lokasi sekolah. Lokasi sekolah yang dimaksud adalah perbedaan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis outdoor learning di SMP yang terletak di perkotaan dan SMP yang terletak di pedesaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan menggunakan instrumen nontes berupa, pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi dan lembar penilaian dokumen. Pengambilan sampel sekolah ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria tertentu yaitu lokasi sekolah yang berada di desa dan lokasi sekolah yang berada di kota. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitiatif. Berdasarkaan observasi yang dilakukan didapatkan perbedaan hasil yang cukup signifikan antara sekolah di desa dan kota dilihat dari ketersediaan lokasi/objek pembelajaran disekitar sekolah. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa sekolah SMP di desa memiliki lebih banyak lokasi yang berpotensi untuk dijadikan objek pembelajaran berbasis outdoor learning dibandingkan SMP di kota. Sedangkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis outdoor learning baik di SMP kota maupun desa sudah terlaksana namun dalam pelaksanaannya masih mengalami kendala/hambatan. Kendala utama yang dihadapi yaitu keterbatasan waktu dan pengkondisian kelas. Sehingga saran pemecahan masalah dari kendala implementasi outdoor learning pada penelitian ini yaitu 1) guru harus memanfaatkan waktu secara efektif, 2) guru mengelompokkan siswa menjadi beberapa kelompok belajar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for teaching materials in the form of science learning modules that utilize information and communication technology. This study aims to develop an electronic module (E-Module) based on flipbook material on the human respiratory system for class VIII SMP/MTs students. The method used in this study uses a 4D development model (Define, Design, Development and Dissemination). In this study was limited only to the stage of small-scale trials. The instruments used are interviews as an initial needs analysis, a validation questionnaire on the feasibility of the E-Module and a student response questionnaire to the E-Modul. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative analysis. To find out the results of the product feasibility test, it was assessed by 3 material experts, 3 media experts and 1 science teacher and the responses of seven students of MTs TQ El-MunaQ Pajangan Bantul. The data from the product feasibility analysis were assessed by material experts, media experts and science subject teachers by calculating the percentage of achievement in each component, namely the feasibility of the material obtained by an overall average of 95.34% with the "very feasible" category, media feasibility obtained on average an overall average of 87.27 % with the "very feasible" category, the assessment of science subject teachers obtained an overall average of 73.33% with the "adequate" category. Then the results of student responses by calculating the percentage of achievement in each component obtained an overall average of 91.8%. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the flipbook -based E-Module material on the human respiratory system for class VIII SMP/MTs students is feasible to use and students are interested in using it as a science learning medium to support the teaching and learning process.
