Newspaper advertising experienced a significant increase in the 1970s. During that period, three local daily newspapers were established in Medan, namely: Waspada, Sinar Indonesia Baru, and dan Analisa. This journal explains how the women’s representation in the local daily newspaper advertisements in Medan in the 1970s, and how the exploitation of women’s bodies and sexual attractiveness in the advertisements for the promotion of the film was related to global discourse, especially in terms of women's appearance. The four stages of historical methods are applied to conduct the research, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the research show that advertising producers often showcased pictures of beautiful and sexy women and even displayed vulgar words to attract the audience's interest which didn’t represent the storyline of the film itself.

Needs that are difficult to fulfill due to the lack of a husband's income lead women to enter the public sector, causing a phenomenon called the dual role of women. This research aims to explore how the dual role is experienced by working women in Kabanjahe District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province, and its role in fulfilling the hierarchy of needs by Abraham Maslow. The results of this study show that the majority of working women in Kabanjahe District focus on fulfilling physiological needs, which are the most basic needs in Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The majority of them find it difficult to fulfill other needs because the income earned is focused on fulfilling physiological needs. This phenomenon seems to support and align with Abraham Maslow's theory, that humans will not have time to fulfill other needs if their physiological needs have not been met.

Inclusive education is essential, but many people still discriminate against children with special needs, including deaf children. At first glance, deaf children are no different from other children. Therefore, their parents also want their children to grow and develop like others. This study aims to explore this issue using qualitative methods to understand parents' social constructions regarding their children's education. The research was carried out at SLB Sri Mujinab Pekanbaru, one of the oldest special schools in Pekanbaru. Participants were selected purposively, employing interaction analysis techniques. This study found that deaf children also achieve various milestones and are not intellectually inferior. Their parents hope that their children grow and develop like typical children. The widespread use of social media and services for children with special needs has compelled parents to learn extensively to support their children's growth and development so that they can become independent.
