Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in human life, so it requires an understanding of the mathematical concepts that are good for mathematical material. But in reality, students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still quite low. Based on the learning outcomes obtained by students there are still many who are below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). Therefore, to overcome the existing problems, the probing-prompting learning model is used which will be able to improve the understanding of the mathematical concepts of class VIII students of SMP N 46 Merangin. The research method used was PTK. Subjects in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 46 Merangin 2014/2015 academic year were 19 students. Data is collected using technical written tests and observations of students during the learning process. Based on the results of the study, it was found that understanding the mathematical concepts of students experienced a fairly good improvement compared to before. This can be seen from the learning outcomes obtained by students each cycle. The average learning outcomes obtained by students are: cycle I of 62.37 with the number of students completed 4 people. Increased in cycle II to 78.95 with a total of 13 students completed. in the third cycle student learning outcomes increased to 14 people with an average value of 84.47.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of student perceptions of the teacher's personality on students' mathematics learning motivation. The research method is descriptive correlational with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 4 Merangin. The sampling technique was random sampling. Data collection used the questionnaire method for variables X and Y variables. Data were analyzed using spearman rank correlation with a significant level of 5% and followed by simple regression. The results of the calculation of Spearman rank correlation are obtained as big as, whereas for simple regression a linear equation is obtained. The correlation coefficient of 0.455 states that each addition of one score or the personality value of the teacher will give an increase of 0.455. For the significance test obtained F count <F table or 0.4736 <1.77 which means Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the NHT Learning Model on the Learning Outcomes of Class IX MTS Negeri 1 Merangin Students for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This research uses quantitative research using the True Experimental Design method, namely Posttest-Only Control Design. The population in the study were all students of Class IX MTS N 1 Merangin for the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 6 classes. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the t-test. The research results show that the use of the NHT model has a significant impact on student learning outcomes compared to conventional methods. Where the results of the t-test show that the tcount value is 3.296 > the ttable value of 1.671. This means that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group. So, it can be concluded that in the context of this research, the use of the NHT type cooperative model has a significantly positive effect on student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. This model can be considered an effective learning approach to improve students' understanding and achievement in the subject.

Abstract

Mathematics tutoring is motivated by children's low motivation and mathematical abilities. Tutoring is an activity provided by experts to help individuals face and solve problems related to learning. Therefore, this service activity aims to increase motivation to learn mathematics from an early age. The hope is that if the motivation to learn is good, then the learning results will also be good. The service activity involved 31 people. The method used is collaborative learning. Where students discuss in groups to solve mathematical problems. The result of this program is that students seemed more enthusiastic about learning during the activity. This is reflected in when doing the homework given by the teacher, students are more enthusiastic. At the end of the activity, students are given questions to measure the success of the tutoring activity. Of the 31 people, there were 87% of students with learning results above 75. Apart from that, students admitted that with tutoring activities students were more motivated in learning mathematics. Consequently, it can be concluded that tutoring activities can foster learning motivation and overcome difficulties in understanding mathematics. The impact of this activity is that the students are motivated to learn mathematics so that it can improve their performance and score.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain information regarding the role of digital literacy for students, especially in the learning and teaching process of science and science subjects in elementary schools. In science and science learning, digital literacy has a very important role because it prepares students who are qualified, reliable and able to compete internationally. To be able to create and develop digital literacy in science and science learning, teachers need to create learning conditions that involve active students. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of digital literacy in science and science learning in elementary schools. The methods used in this research are literature review/literature study and field observations and interviews. Data was obtained from reviewing articles, journals and other sources related to research and also through observations and interviews and then concluded. Data processing and analysis was carried out qualitatively with descriptive explanation. It is known from the results of this research that the implementation of digital literacy can help students and teachers in implementing the independent curriculum and strengthening the profile of Pancasila students in elementary school.

Abstract

The transformation of mathematics education in the technological era has presented significant new challenges and opportunities in the learning process. The main problems faced include unequal access to technology, lack of teacher training, and resistance to changes in traditional teaching methods. To understand the impact and implications of this transformation, this study uses a literature review method that includes a variety of sources, including journal articles, books, and recent research reports. The subjects analyzed included various technological tools used in mathematics education, such as interactive software and online learning platforms, as well as pedagogical approaches that support technology integration. The analysis results show that the application of technology in mathematics education can improve students' understanding of concepts, interactivity, and engagement and provide better accessibility to learning resources. However, challenges such as lack of adequate training and access gaps remain obstacles that must be addressed. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of continuous support for teachers and students to maximize the potential of technology in education. With the right approach, this transformation can create a more inclusive and effective learning environment, preparing students to face the challenges of an increasingly digital world

Abstract

Autokorelasi spasial merupakan teknik dalam analisis spasial untuk mengukur kemiripan nilai atribut dalam suatu ruang (jarak, waktu dan area). Jika terdapat pola sistematik dalam nilai atribut tersebut,maka terdapat autokorelasi spasial.Adanya autokorelasi spasial mengindikasikan bahwanilai atribut pada area tertentu terkait oleh nilai atribut tersebut pada area lain yang letaknya salingberdekatan (bertetangga). Ketetanggaan tersebut diharapkan dapat mencerminkan derajatketergantungan area (spasial) yang tinggi apabila dibandingkan dengan area lain yang letaknyaterpisah jauh.Autokorelasi spasial diukur melalui dua indeks yaitu indeks global dan indeks lokal. Indeks Moran adalah indeks global tertua yang membandingkan nilai atribut area dengan nilaiatribut area lainnya. Sementara, Local Indicator of Spatial Association (LISA)adalah indeks lokal yang dipergunakan untuk mengevaluasi kecenderungan adanya pola secara lokal dengan menunjukkan beberapa bentuk dari hubungan spasial. Indeks Moran cenderung mengabaikan pola lokal hubungan spasial sehingga LISA memberikan hubungan spasial pada setiap wilayah pengamatan. Keduanya, baik indeks global maupun lokal mempunyai nilai yang proporsional yaitu indeks Moran proporsional dengan jumlah nilai LISA melalui matriks pembobotan spasial (W) dengan taxonomic levels. Dalam artikel ini dibuktikan proporsionalitas tersebut yakni nilai indeks Moran proporsional dengan jumlah nilai LISA.

Abstract

Mathematics is often understood as an abstract discipline and independent of cultural values, whereas in the cultural practice of society, mathematical concepts are usually integrated into cultural traditions and artifacts. In the context of meaningful and culturally relevant mathematics education, it is essential to explore mathematical knowledge embedded in local cultural practices. Through a qualitative approach with ethnographic design, this study examines ethnomathematics on traditional headgear of Jambi Malay women, focusing on mathematical concepts integrated with the shape, motif, and technique of folding the navel. The study results show that at least 5 shapes of tenaculum represent geometric concepts such as folding symmetry patterns, geometric transformations, angles, and pattern repetitions that resemble flat shapes and 3-dimensional shapes. Each design and shape of the tengkuluk fold has geometric characteristics and philosophical values, such as harmony with nature and the social structure of the Jambi community. This research contributes to developing ethnomathematics-based mathematics learning design by integrating contextual, project-based learning, and inquiry approaches. Thus, this study not only enriches the ethnomathematical literature in Indonesia but also bridges the gap between modern science and local wisdom in the context of meaningful and culturally relevant mathematics education.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberdayakan UMKM berbasis kayu di Desa Pandeyan, Kabupaten Boyolali, melalui induksi teknologi dan optimalisasi pemanfaatan limbah kayu menjadi produk kreatif dan briket ramah lingkungan. Desa Pandeyan memiliki potensi kayu yang melimpah, namun selama ini limbah kayu belum termanfaatkan secara optimal sehingga menimbulkan masalah lingkungan dan hilangnya nilai tambah ekonomi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan teknologi induksi, workshop pengolahan limbah kayu, pembuatan briket, pendampingan produk kreatif, serta dukungan hibah laptop, kamera, dan domain hosting untuk digital marketing. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan UMKM dalam mengolah limbah kayu menjadi produk bernilai tinggi, sekaligus memperluas akses pasar melalui platform digital Martha Meubel. Program ini berdampak positif secara teknis, ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan, serta berpotensi menjadi model replikasi bagi pengembangan ekonomi kreatif berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Background: The world faces a pandemic caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARSCov-2). Because of the limitations as a developing country, Indonesia needs to do its activities efficiently in time,money, and human resource. This research aims to accurately determine a concrete mortality predictor to predictthe patients' mortality. One of the mortality predictors is the lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR).Method: This research is observational analytic research using a cross-sectional study method. Data obtainedfrom the Medical Record & Casemix Room of RSUD Raden Mattaher.Results: Out of 115 samples, most patients were male (65 patients). The patients' age group was mainly youngerthan 65 (79%). The most common comorbidity was diabetes mellitus (43 patients). The correlation between LMRand mortality rate to be weak with the following results: Pearson coefficient(p=0.045), gamma coefficient (P=0.325),Somers' D test (P=0.167), odds ratio (1.833), AUC (58%), specificity (58%), sensitivity (56%), and intersection point(1,79).Conclusions: There is a weak correlation between LMR and the mortality rate of COVID-19 patients in RSUDRaden Mattaher.Keywords: Characteristics of COVID-19 patients, comorbidity of COVID-19 patients, LMR (Lymphocyte-monocyteratio), a mortality rate of COVID-19 patients.
