Abstract

The main objective of this research is to determine the role of turnover intention in mediating the adaptation of green culture on the work productivity of lecturers at private universities in Medan City. The approach in this research is quantitative. The population comes from 5 private universities in Medan City, totaling 728 students. The sampling technique used cluster sampling, where 258 educational staff were used as research samples. The data analysis technique for this research uses statistical analysis, namely the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM), which aims to carry out path analysis with latent variables. The results of data analysis show that the adaptation of green culture directly has a significant effect on employee work productivity. Then, turnover intention hurts employee work productivity. Finally, indirect turnover intention does not significantly mediate the adaptation of green culture on employee work productivity. The implications of the findings in this research show that green cultural adaptation currently needs to be carried out by private universities. The provision of green open space and green cultural values at the private higher education level in Medan City has yet to be consistently and sustainably implemented.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital literacy and adaptable culture on lecturer performance, with servant leadership as a mediating variable. The Institute of Information Technology and Business executed the study, with several lecturers participating as responders. Digital literacy is a crucial component in the age of technological transition, whereas adaptable culture signifies an institution’s capacity to adjust to evolving environmental conditions. This study proposes that servant leadership, prioritizing service-oriented leadership, mediates the association among digital literacy, adaptable culture, and lecturer performance. This study uses a validated questionnaire to gather data through a quantitative methodology and survey technique. We employ route analysis methodologies to examine the interrelationships among variables. The study’s outcomes are anticipated to elucidate how digital literacy and adaptable culture might enhance professor performance by reinforcing servant leadership conduct. These findings hold significant implications for formulating higher education policies, particularly in addressing the challenges of the digital age and the intricacies of the professional landscape. This study offers theoretical contributions by enhancing the comprehension of the interplay between digital literacy, corporate culture, and leadership within an academic framework.

Abstract

Employee innovative work behavior is a crucial factor in enhancing academic competitiveness in higher education institutions. This study examines the effects of workplace fun and organizational familiarity on innovative work behavior, with employee antifragility as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey was conducted among 143 permanent lecturers of Prima Indonesia University selected from a population of 712 lecturers using proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that employee antifragility significantly influences innovative work behavior (b = 0.521; p 0.001). Workplace fun significantly affects employee antifragility (b = 0.412; p 0.001) and innovative work behavior (b = 0.285; p = 0.001). Organizational familiarity also significantly influences employee antifragility (b = 0.398; p 0.001) and innovative work behavior (b = 0.276; p = 0.001). Furthermore, employee antifragility partially mediates the relationship between workplace fun and innovative work behavior (b = 0.215; p 0.001), as well as between organizational familiarity and innovative work behavior (b = 0.207; p 0.001). These findings confirm that both workplace fun and organizational familiarity contribute to innovative work behavior directly and indirectly through employee antifragility.
