Abstract

Validity and reliability are the minimal characteristics of standardized test. Both of characteristics are fundamental requirement in measuring students achievement cognitively because the quality test will achieve quality achievement. The research conducted to describe teachers perspective on standardized test. As much as 20 respondents are chosen purposefully. Qualitative approach with descriptive method are used concerning this research. Observation, documentation and interview are the tools of gaining qualitative data. The findings show that 85% from the 20 respondents knew the terminology of standardized test (validity and reliability) but do not practice it. As much as 80% never validate the test by their self. As much as 20 % from 20 respondents do not understand how to validate the test manually or electronically. The conclusion of the research are the teachers have various perspective towards standardized test. Some teachers assume that the test should be standardized and some have other perceptions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of recruiting new students (PPDB) in private schools, especially at YPHB Bogor City High School, the research focuses on: (1) The process of recruiting new students at SMA YPHB Bogor City. (2) Recruitment strategy for accepting new students at SMA YPHB Bogor City in getting prospective students. (3) Factors supporting and inhibiting schools in the recruitment of New Student Admissions (PPDB) at SMA YPHB Bogor City. An effective strategy that can be recommended to be used at YPHB SMA in order to recruit new students every year.The research method used was descriptive qualitative, namely describing, explaining, and disclosing the results of research on student recruitment, with the type of case study research. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation. The research subjects were foundations, principals, committees, and parents of students. The results showed that the recruitment strategy for accepting new students at YPHB Senior High School (1) The planning for accepting new students at SMA YPHB was by using internal and external strategies. The internal strategy is carried out through improving school facilities and infrastructure, presenting an attractive school environment. The external strategy is carried out through outreach, placing banners, distributing brochures. Dissemination through social media, print media, electronic media (Publications) on a regular basis. In addition, socialization visits and coordination were also carried out to PPDB target schools. Promotion of YPHB High School flagship programs that can be sold to outside communities so that they can attract more outstanding students. Academic and non-academic Achievement Scholarships and Orphans/Orphans/Orphans with Achievement. Compensation for junior high schools is still being implemented. Holding a PPDB promotional content contest. . (2) The strategy for implementing the recruitment and selection of new students consists of several activities, namely, the establishment of a committee, holding committee meetings for implementing new student admissions, conducting student selection, determining students who are accepted, an announcement of the test results, and re-registration for those who have passed

Abstract

This study reports a qualitative study using descriptive analytics method that finding out the effectiveness of Montessori Method for young learners. Montessori Method is a method that rarely used in Indonesia and there are only some of the schools that apply this method. Teachers who decide to work in the Montessori school basis should be ready with the challenges that might be appear when teaching children to learn using a specific method. The subjects of this research are Cita Harmoni Montessori Teacher. The data were collected through interview, observation and documentation. The study showed that teacher face several challenges when teaching using Montessori Method. Some children still unfamiliar with the Montessori Materials, got some difficulties in understanding abstract concepts even though they have used Montessori materials, children who are solitaire and is difficult to blend in group, some teachers who are not fully understand in working with Montessori Materials and the lack of maximum use of the Montessori apparatus in learning are the challenges that found in this study. In conclusion, teaching using a Montessori Method will be effective to be applied when the materials are involved and mastered. Additionally, it will be the challenge of Montessori teachers in the future.
