Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research background is the students Comprehension of the concepts described by teachers remains low. Learning groups are conducted by teachers has never been in the form of team competition or race group. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning model Learning Tournament type accompanied by the provision of rewards VIII.1 grade students better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning graders VIII.2 SMPN 25 Padang. This type of research is experimental research, the research design Pre Experimental Design: static group comparison. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling or sample aims. The research instrument is the ultimate test in the form of essays with the reliability of the test is 0,88. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using  t test with Minitab Software obtained t > tα is 1,83>1,645. This means that the hypothesis in this research received.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Background of this research are the student disable to share their knowledge with their friends in the classroom, and the students understanding of mathematical concepts  are  still  low,  the  solution  is  the  researcher  try  to  apply  an  active learning strategy tipe synergetic teaching. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by using active learning strategies synergetic type of teaching better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning of the eight grade students at SMPN   2   Batang   Anai   Academic   Year   2013/2014.   This   research   is   an experimental study with random trials on the subject. The population in this study were students of the eight grade at SMPN 2 Batang Anai. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value = 0,039 was smaller than α = 0,05 then reject H0, so the research hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies synergetic type of teaching better than students understanding of mathematical concepts  with  conventional  learning  of  the  eight  grade  students  at  SMPN  2Batang Anai Academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is background of by students that not ordinary learning did not give the result yet that maximum, the concept of mathematic students undestanding still low. The purpose of this research in for knowing about what did mathematic students concept understanding of used the model of cooperative learning technique of think pair square is better than model of mathematic concept the students used convensional learning. The kind of this research is experiment with research random plan to subject. The instrument was used on this research was essey test. The risult of try of hyphotesis test useof  the t test swith help the software MINITAB was got P-value smaller than real plan alpha was 0,004<0,05. So, hyphothesis was receive. So can be summarise that students math ability that used learning model of cooperative technique of think pair square better than convensional learning to class VIII SMPN 1 Ranah Pesisirof faith 95%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was designed for determining whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Verbal Football Strategy better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 28 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The data was collected by using a posttest on mathematics conceptual understanding. The result of hypothesis test showed that P-value (0,0000) was smaller than α = 0,05 indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Verbal Football Strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 28 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The  research is based on the students understanding mathematical concepts are low and the students like to ask to her friends reather than to teachers. So low students learning out comes VIII-grade of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan of year 2013/2014. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students understanding mathematical concepts by applying the snowball throwing cooperative learning model is better than using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan. This is experimental research with random to subject design. The population in this research is the VIII-grade students of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan. The technique of sample classes were determined randomly. The instrument used in this research is test for the understanding mathematical concepts. Based on the result of data analysis, it is know that both sample classes distribute normally and homogenously. So that the hypothesis is accepted, that means that the students mathematical concept apprehension. Using the snowball throwing cooperative learning model is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan.

Abstract

This was an experimental  research wich used pre eksperimental design: static group comparison. The data was collected by using a on posttest mathematics conceptual understanding. The results of hypothesis test showed that P-value=0,000 was smaller than α=0,05, indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of students taught by using technique Numbered Head of Structured cooperative learning was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning of SMPN 10 Padang.

Abstract

One of the research objectives was formulated to improve the quality of education, namely by understanding the problems of students and teachers. There were three main groups of quality characteristics of education highlighted in scientific and academic literature in Russia, namely the quality of educational objectives, the quality of the educational process, and the quality of educational outcomes. The problem of education in Indonesia is the quality of the education process. The development of teaching materials is an alternative to improve the quality of the education process. Research so far has only focused on the implementation of learning models by teachers in the classroom, but the model is not integrated into the teaching materials used. This paper examines how the effectiveness of a product that has been developed for two years on 27 Indonesian students. The product produced is a guided discovery-based module in the Complex Analysis subject. This product was developed after the preliminary analysis (defining) process. Students are given 16 modules during lectures; then students are given a final test containing all the competencies that must be achieved. Test results are scored, and statistical analyses are conducted to compare them with student score before using the module. The test used is t-test. The design used is one of the experimental research designs, One Shot Case Study. The results of the study showed that students who were taught with modules developed effectively to improve student learning outcomes. Further research can be done by implementing different learning models in teaching materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis penemuan terbimbing yang praktis pada perkuliahan Analisis Kompleks. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dengan menggunakan model 4D, yaitu define, design, develop, dan dessiminate. Penelitian ini membahas tentang tahap develop, yakni praktikalitas modul. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dan pedoman wawancara. Angket diberikan kepada enam orang mahasiswa dengan sebelas butir pertanyaan yang ditinjau dari aspek kemudahan dalam penggunaan, waktu, kemudahan interpretasi, dan ekivalensi dengan bahan ajar lain. Pedoman wawancara terdiri dari sebelas item dengan aspek yang sama pada instrumen angket praktikalitas. Data yang diperoleh berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan mencari presentase masing-masing item pada angket. Diperoleh rata-rata pada aspek kemudahan dalam penggunaan modul sebesar 4,3, termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Aspek waktu diperoleh 3,5 dikategorikan sangat praktis. Aspek kemudahan interpretasi diperoleh 4,08 dikategorikan sangat praktis. Aspek ekivalensi dengan bahan ajar yang lain diperoleh 4,41 dikategorikan sangat praktis. Secara keseluruhan diperoleh rata-rata 4,07 yang artinya modul Analisis Kompleks berbasis penemuan terbimbing sangat praktis. Selain itu, untuk mendukung data praktikalitas dilakukan wawancara dengan mahasiswa, data ini dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif. Hasil wawancara secara keseluruhan diperoleh informasi bahwa mahasiswa mudah dalam menggunakan modul, waktu yang dibutuhkan dalam menggunakan modul relatif singkat, dan modul dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar. Ada beberapa revisi yang dilakukan pada modul berdasarkan saran mahasiswa, seperti memperbaiki penulisan, memperinci materi, dan menambahkan contoh soal. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul berbasis penemuan terbimbing pada perkuliahan Analisis Kompleks sudah praktis digunakan. Kata-kata Kunci: Praktikalitas, Modul, Analisis Kompleks, Penemuan Terbimbing AbstractThis research aim to develop modules based guided discovery on Complex Analysis lecture. The kind of research was development with 4D model, that is define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research just discussed phase of develop, that is practicality of modules. The instrument was questioner and interview guide. The questioner was given to six students with eleven questions, seen from aspects practicality on usage, time, practicality of interpretation, and equivalence with other lecture note. Interview guide consist of eleven items, the aspect is similar with questioner of practicality. Obtained quantitative data from questioner and qualitative data from interview. Quantitative data was analyzed by finding percentage of each items on questioner. Obtained average on practicality of usage aspect was 4.3, include in category very practical. On aspect of time was 3.5, categorized very practical. Practicality of interpretation was 4.08, categorized very practical. Aspect of equivalence with other lecture note was 4.41, categorized very practical. Overall obtained average 4.07, it mean modules of Complex Analysis based guided discovery was very practical. To support data of practicality was done interview to students, data was analyzed by descriptive technique. Obtained information from the result of interview that student was easy in using modules, the time was short in using modules, and modules can be used as learning source. There are several revision on modules based on student suggestion, such as repairing writing, detailing material, and adding problem examples. Abstract
