Abstract

The background of this reseach is understand of mathematical but the concept are still low. The purpose of the research to the learning to detemince whether the student understand of the concept mathematical with the application of SQ3R method more better than student to understand concepts of mathematical with convenstional learning MTsN eighth grade student in Tarusan. This type of research is experimental, the population of research is MTsN eight grude students have fine classes, class experimental VIII.A and the class control VIII.C, the from used essay testh with a reliability is r11 = 0,89. Based on the analysis of data bettwen two that class sample average the student understanding of about concept of mathematical is the class experimental = 66,14 and than the class control = 51,18, the results of hypothesis is = 0,000 more small than α = 0,05, so that the conclusion about students understanding of concept mathematical with the application of SQ3R method is better than student understanding of cencept mathematical with conventional learning with 95% contidece level.

Abstract

The background of this research is student’s achievement in mathematic is law under the KKM (minimal achievement criteria), This probiem caused by the student’s understanding about the concept mathematic they lost the concept in their memory quickly. The purpose of the research to know is the student achievement in mathematic by using Group To Group active learning strategy and College Ball better than convensional learning for students grade VIII  SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan in 2011/-2013.The type of research is experimental. The study population were student’s of class VIII SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan in 2012/2013. Technique of random sampling. This research instrument is the achievement test. The form used is the essay test, a reliability test r11= 0,72. The data analysis technique used is t-test of one part with the help of software MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,009 is less than α = 0,05, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, student’s achievement in mathematic by using Group To Group active learning strategy and College Ball  better than conventional learning

Abstract

This research was based on the preliminary research on students of Junior High School 14 (SMPN 14) Padang who got low understanding  in mathematics concept.  This research was aimed at determining whether students’ understanding mathematics concept by applying  one of cooperative learning  called club round technique was better than applying any other convensional techniques in teaching mathematics at grade VIII of SMPN 14 Padang.This research was experimental research by having random sampling. The population were grade VIII students of SMPN 14 Padang. In order to get the sample, the researcher used random sampling and it was chosen that grade VIII. 6 students were as the experiment class and grade VIII. 5 students as the control class. The instrument used in this research was achievement test. The test form used was essay with the relialibility  =0,76. The data analysis technique used was the t-test of the party at α =0,05 with the use of Minitab Software.  Based on the analysis from those two classes, it were normally distributed and homogenous at the significance level α = 0,05 and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-value = 0,039, so the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it could be conluded that the students’ understanding of the mathematics concept by implementing cooperative learning, club round,  was better than implementing the conventional learning technique at grade VIII of SMPN 14 Padang.

Abstract

The background of this research was the low mathematic concept comprehension of the students; also students prefer to ask to their friends instead to ask to their teachers. The purpose of this research was to know the improvement of mathematic concept of the students with application of practice-rehearsal pairs type of active learning strategy in mathematics learning of grade VIII of MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang and to know whether students mathematic concept comprehension was better with the application of practice-rehearsal pairs type than students mathematic comprehension with application of conventional learning of grade VIII of MTsTI Batang Kabung Padang. The type of the research was experimental research, with random research planning toward the students. The population of the research was grade of MTsTI Batang Kabung students in academic year 2013/2014. The technique of sampling was random selection, and class VIIIc was chosen as experiment class and class VIIId as control class. The instrument of the research was final test of mathematic concept comprehension in form of essay with reliability was 0.92. The technique of data analysis was using test t one head with help of MINITAB. Based on the result of data analysis known that both sample distributed normally and homogeneity. The result of hypothesis resulting P-value was 0.044 which mean less than α = 0.05, so the research hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that students’ mathematic concept comprehension using practice-rehearsal type of active strategy was better than students’ mathematic concept comprehension than conventional learning with 95% level of trust.

Abstract

This research based on the lack of comprehension of the mathematical concepts that looked from the study results of students grade VIII SMP 30 Padang. One of the way to increase students comprehension of mathematical concepts is with implement an active learning strategy type synergetic Teaching. This study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies type Synergetic Teaching is better than the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in grade VIII SMP 30 Padang. This type of research is experimental research on the subject with a random design. The population in this study were all of the students grade VIII in the academic year 2012/2013. The sample in this study is VIII.7 class as the experimental class and the VIII.8 as the control class. Research instruments is an essay test with a reliability of 0.87. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at the level of α = 0.05 and hypothesis test results obtained from the P-value = 0.008, less than α = 0.05, then the hypothesis in this research received. Thus, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies type synergetic Teaching better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VIII SMP 30 Padang.

Abstract

The background of this understanding mathematical concept still a lower class the learning prosess in centered on the teachers and discussion method dont to give satisfying achievement. This study aims to determine whether student’s understanding of mathematical concept by applying methods of Think Pair Square is better that student’s understanding  learning prosses conventional of class VIII SMPN 17 Padang regency in 2012/2013. This type of research is the design of experimental, with the population of this research is student’s in class VIII SMPN 17 Padang that consist of all class. Sample of this research is student’s in class VIII.8 that has been chosen as experimental and the class VIII.9 control class. The instrument that is used in the research is final test in the from of essays. Technique of data analysis is using one side t-test based on the result of data analysis, on average class experimental is 75, 85 and control class is 61, 59. Hypothesis test is gotten that P-value 0, 000 is smaller that α = 0, 05, because P-value < α, with reliability of the test is 0, 7611, so to push H0 and to receive H1. It can be concluded that the student’s comprehension of mathematical concepts with the application strategy of Think Pair Square is better that student’s understanding learning prosses conventional credibility level 95%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts and learn the spirit students of SMPN 27 Padang grade VIII is still low. This study aims to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concepts with Sucker Ball game better understanding of the mathematical concepts that students apply classroom learning in the conventional SMPN 27 Padang grade VIII.This type of research is experimental, with the design of randomized trials to subjek. The population in this study were SMPN 27 Padang grade VIII that consists of seven classes listed in the school year 2013/2014. This technique take was randomly sampled, which was selected as the sample classes are VIII.3 as an experimental class and VIII.4 as control class.The instrument used in this study is a test of understanding of mathematical concepts. Form used is the essay test with a reliability test was 0,92. Data analysis techniques used were the t test of side. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and the sample is not homogeneous. Hypothesis test results obtained t calculated= 2,47 and t table= 0,607, because t calculated > t table, so the hypothesis in this study was received. So it can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts apply sucker ball game better understanding of the mathematical concepts that students apply classroom learning in the conventional SMPN 27 Padang grade VIII academic year 2013/2014

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts was still low. The students were less inclined and get bored to be engaged in a group discussion. The aim of this research was to see whether the use of Course Review Horey cooperative learning model gave better effect on the students’ understanding on mathematics in class VIII of SMPN 12 Padang. This experimental research applied random design toward the subject. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 12 Padang. The instrument used was a post-test whose indicator was conceptual understanding. The data then was analyzed by using one way t-test. After the model applied, the average score of the students in the experimental class was 75,96  and the standard deviation was 17,32, and the average score for the control one was 56,34 and the standard deviation was 15,97. The result of the post-test indicated that tcalculated (4,63) > ttable (1,67). Thus, it was concluded that  the use of Course Review Horey cooperative learning model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 12 Padang in Academic Year 2012/2014.

Abstract

The background of this research by the students lack of understanding of mathematic concept and the low mathematics achievement of students of class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematic concept by applying cooperatif learning style type group investigation with using students work sheet better than students understanding of mathematic concept that apply to conventional teaching class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman. This type of reseach is experimental. Population is all students grade IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman. Technique of random sampling IX.2 as experimental class and IX.1 as control class. Instrument used was the ultimate test with indicator of understanding the concept. Form used is the essay test was 8 items with a reliabiity of 0,86. Technique data analysis used was -test because data not homogeneity. Based on the hypothesis test obtained value = 2,48 and t = 0,17. So, t’ > t. So the hypotesis is accept at the 95% confidence level. So it is concluded that the students understanding of mathematic concept by applying cooperatif learning style type group investigation with using students work sheet better than students understanding of mathematic concept that apply to conventional teaching class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman.
