Abstract

Health cadres are members of the community whose role is to assist health workers in health services. For the case of the Covid-19 pandemic, especially health cadres who are needed to assist the community in handling mental and psychosocial health in the community. In addition to health cadres, the general public also plays a role in helping cadres and health workers to improve the mental health of the community. One of the efforts is to increase knowledge through health counseling about mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Health counseling was carried out boldly in their respective homes with zoom media on July 18, 2021. There were 24 participants who took part in the health education, consisting of 14 health cadres and 10 the general public. Beforethe counseling was carried out, pre-test and post-test were carried out by distributing questionnaires on google forms to participants to determine the level of knowledge of the participants about the material to be and after being delivered. This community service activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge of health cadres and the community about psychosocial mental health support with the value of good knowledge being 36% from 18%, and knowledge being 64% from 45%. After this community service is held, it is hoped that the participants can become promoters in mental health efforts in the community during the Covid-19 pandemic so that they can remain mentally healthy in dealing with all the problems that occur during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The flash flood disaster that occurred in Sukawening District, Garut Regency on November 27, 2022, resulted in several impacts for the community. Apart from material losses, this flash flood also left deeptrauma for the community. The Non- Flood Again Program (GBL) is here to assist in handling theaftermath of the flash flood in Sukawening Village. The program is a program designed by STIKesKarsa Husada Garut students in the Village Community Health Development (VCHD) activity. Theprogram implemented focuses on three aspects of activity, namely: (1) disaster mitigation seminars, (2)tree planting, (3) trauma healing. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the understanding of the surrounding community regarding disasters, besides thatthe community began tounderstandand care about the importance of protecting the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Health cadres trained in Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are needed to help improve regional health. Training and educational actions to prevent and control Diabetes Mellitus in the form of PROMEDIA (Diabetes Mellitus Management Education Program) can be useful activities to improve the level of public health at large. This activity was carried out for 2 days in the Hall of the Tarogong Community Health Center with the presence of 30 Health cadres. The results of measuring calorie need showed that, the Temporary Blood Sugar (GDS) of the cadres present ranged from 88 mg/dl -316 mg/dl (mean= 134 mg/dl), calorie needs ranged from 1236 cal – 2415 cal (mean= 1524 cal). The results of health education show that 76% of cadres experienced an increase in knowledge after being given education. This Promedia activity showed benefits especially for cadres, including increasing knowledge about diabetes mellitus management, skills in checking blood sugar levels, calculating daily calorie needs and daily follow-up mechanisms.
