Abstract

Bullying behavior in adolescents is still found in the school environment. Introverted and Extroverted personality types can shape teenagers' behavior to risk bullying and shape their personality when they make friends or socialize. Bullying behavior causes bullies to experience problems in social interaction and a lack of empathy intensity. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Introverted and Extroverted personality types on the risk of bullying behavior in adolescents at SMK Negeri 5 Jember. This research method used analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. Respondents in this study were 147 students of SMK Negeri 5 Jember and used the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The research was conducted online. Chi-Square test bivariate analysis (p<0.05). Introverted and Extroverted Personality Types Questionnaire and the Bullying Behavior Risk Questionnaire. The result was that 75 students (51%) were Extroverted personality types and had high risks of bullying. Adolescents with an extroverted personality type are more at risk of bullying because they easily socialize with peers and the surrounding environment and are more able to express themselves, so they often think bullying is just a joke. This study shows a value of 0.26 (p <0.05), which means there is a relationship between Introverted and Extroverted Personality Types on the Risk of Bullying Behavior.

Abstract

Background. Hemodialysis therapy can raise stressors which are able to cause death anxiety due to the occurrence of comorbidities after renal failure which are unavoidable even though undergoing hemodialysis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family support and death anxiety in the elderly who were undergoing hemodialysis. Method. This study used a quantitative research technique with a cross-sectional approach. To determine the sample, a total sampling technique was adopted with the sample size of 43 people. Results. The measurement instruments used in this study were the family support questionnaire to measure family support with the (r) value of 0.97 and reliability value of 0.85, and the death anxiety questionnaire to measure death anxiety with the validity value of 0.367-0.724 and reliability value of 0.806. The respondents consisted of 32 elderly men and 11 elderly women. Hypothesis testing using Chi Square with the analysis between family support and death anxiety revealed the p value = 0.000, which means that there was a relationship between family support and anxiety level in the elderly who were undergoing hemodialysis. Conclusion. Family support has an important role in reducing the level of pressure in dealing with problems. Optimal family support can reduce death anxietyin the elderly who are undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, given that nurses are on the front line, maintaining mental health in this COVID-19 pandemic situation can be difficult in terms of anxiety, reducing the risk of depression or burnout. This research is essential to study. They can find out the problems experienced by nurses in dealing with Covid-19 patients and add a form of vigilance in the event of a pandemic again because the virus always mutates. This research includes several indicators, namely problem focus coping, and emotion focus coping. This study aims to describe the coping mechanisms of nurses in handling patients confirmed positive for COVID-19 at the General Hospital. This type of research is descriptive quantitative analytic using a total sampling technique with the sample population in this study being 56 nurses. This study uses zoom media and googles forms with a questionnaire on Coping Mechanisms for Nurses in Handling Covid-19 Patients from Liliek & Hery, (2021). The results obtained from the analysis of the description of the coping mechanisms of nurses in handling patients confirmed positive for COVID-19 mostly have the categories of adaptive coping mechanisms (64%), and maladaptive (36%). This shows that the nurse's coping mechanism in handling patients confirmed positive for COVID-19 is still not optimal, because nurses are not fully categorized into adaptive coping mechanisms. For health agencies, it is necessary to carry out routine activities that physically can support nurses and other health workers, namely counseling and physical activities such as sports, refreshing, relaxing, and spiritual techniques.

Abstract

Introduction: Self-harm behavior represents a maladaptive coping mechanism that can be highly harmful, potentially leading to injury or even posing a threat to an individual's life. Various factors contribute to self-harm behavior in early adolescence, with family dysfunction being one significant element. This study aimed to explore the relationship between family functioning and self-harm behavior among early adolescents in the Agricultural Area of Jember. Method: This study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was obtained through a proportional stratified random technique with 376 respondents. The independent variable in this study is family function, and the dependent variable is self-harm behavior in early adolescents. Data was collected using the Family APGAR and Deliberate Self-harm Inventory (DSHI) questionnaires. Results: The result showed that family function is in the high category, 224 respondents (59,6%), and self-harm behavior is low self-harm, 319 respondents (84,8%). There is a relationship between family function and self-harm behavior in early adolescents in the agricultural area of Jember (p = 0,001 and r =-0,131) very weak and negative correlation. Poor communication among family members can lead to inner conflict and negative emotions, increasing the risk of self-harm. The data was analyzed using Kendall's Tau C correlation test. Conclusions: Early adolescents from families with low functioning are at a higher risk of engaging in self-harm. This study can serve as a guideline for schools, psychiatric nurses, and community nurses to develop effective nursing interventions for early adolescents who exhibit self-harm behavior.
