Abstract

One of the causes of congestion on the highway is the increasing number of motorized vehicle users, whose percentage is now increasing from the use of other vehicles or transportation. Every vehicle in circulation also comes from companies and with various brands. This study aims to determine the comparison of emissions or pressure produced at three constant speeds by five motorized vehicles with different brands using the same type of fuel, to determine the amount of emissions released by each vehicle brand and every hour, and the impact of the resulting emissions on environmental health. . The research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method with a sampling technique and the data were then analyzed with a literature review and information obtained from the STNK. From this research, it is found that different motorcycle brands with the same year of production have different emission results. Of the five types of brands tested, motorized vehicles with the Beat 110 CC brand and the year of engine production being longer than the other four types produced fewer gas emissions, namely 3237 at a speed of 60 KM/hour. In addition, the pressure (ppm) on the Beat brand will also be lower, although the speed that is different from the other four brands will actually increase the pressure. For the value of emissions issued per hour will also be in line with pressure (ppm). Gas emissions released by motorized vehicles themselves have a harmful impact on health and the environment. One of the dangers posed by vehicle exhaust gases for health and the environment is the increase in hemoglobin levels in the blood which will form COHb in the body. Abstract

Noise is a type of environmental pollution in the form of sound that comes from a human activity. The impact of noise is disturbing comfort in the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of influence of the noise relationship from the activities of the Mangu Market, Jalan Raya Manguraya, and Adi Soemarmo Airport on the concentration of students' learning at SMPN 1 Ngemplak. The research method is observational with a cross sectional analysis approach. Noise research was conducted at 09.00-10.00; 10.00-11.00; and 11.00-12.00 with 2 sampling points, namely roads and classrooms which respectively obtained an average result of 68.97dB and 55.73dB. Based on the data that has been obtained, the noise at SMPN 1 Ngemplak exceeds the threshold set by KepMen LH No. 48/MNLH/11/1996, which is 55 dB for the school area. Data analysis was carried out with the Chi-Square test, obtained a probability value of 0.001<0.05. So it is stated that there is a significant relationship between the impact of noise that occurs at SMPN 1 Ngemplak with the concentration of student learning. Recommendations for reducing noise that can be done include planting trees around schools, building fences with vines, changing the function of classes near the highway into warehouses or teachers' offices that have minimal learning processes, reducing the percentage of windows and increasing the use of curtains, and changing building period. Abstract

River water quality is influenced by the natural conditions of the river, human activities and land use in the vicinity. Water pollution is the inclusion or entry of various kinds of objects, living things, energy, substances and other components into the air by human activities, which then causes air quality to decrease to a certain level so that it cannot be utilized according to its use. Pepe River is one of the rivers that pass through the Surakarta area. Pepe River is divided into two, namely Pepe Hulu and Pepe Hilir. The Pepe Hilir River is 5.76 km long. Pollution that occurs in the Pepe River is dominated by household waste. The water quality of the Pepe Hilir River is classified as class IV. This study aims to determine the pollution of the Pepe Hilir River so that it can provide recommendations for water management strategies for the Pepe Hilir River. This study uses descriptive quantitative methods obtained through observation and journal literature related to physico-chemical parameters in river water. The results showed that the level of water pollution of the Pepe Hilir River was said to be good at the three research locations, not showing any water pollution based on the results of measurements using HORIBA U-50 (Multiparameter Water Quality Checker). Based on secondary data in the form of previous research, it shows that the Surakarta City government has promoted the Pepe River pollution control strategy, but community participation is still considered minimal. Therefore, the recommendation for the government is that the government prioritizes the community so that they are able to contribute to waste management on the banks of the Pepe River with outreach campaigns to villages traversed by the Pepe Hilir River. The government can also understand with community leaders or community institutions to help encourage the community to want to participate in river management programs. In addition, the Surakarta city government is also advised to provide great opportunities for the community to be involved in programs promoted by the government. Abstract

Noise is unwanted sound produced by a business or activity at a certain volume and frequency. Noise has an negative effect on quality of life, health and well-being. The market as a center for trade and services supported by the increasing number of vehicles used by the public is expected to cause uncontrollable noise. Measurement of noise levels in the market environment can be done to find out how much noise is generated from market activities and what kind of effect is generated. Therefore, this research was conducted which aims to determine the noise intensity measured by the calculation of the leq equation, to determine the effect of noise levels on community activities in the Pasar Gede Solo area, and to determine the effect of noise on humans or the whole environment in the Pasar Gede Solo area. The research was conducted on April to Mei 2022 at Pasar Gede Solo, Jl. Jend. Urip Sumoharjo, Sudiroprajan, Kecamatan Jebres, Surakarta City, Central Java. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method using primary data obtained by direct observation at the research location, distributing questionnaires, and conducting interviews with traders, workers, and buyers. In addition, secondary data obtained by literature study is also used. From the results of this study, it is known that the noise level at the front entrance has an average of 70.6 dB, the middle area is 62.9 dB, and the rear entrance is 65.1 dB. Among the three points, the front entrance has passed the predetermined threshold value. Noise levels that exceed the threshold value can cause hearing, communication, and physiological disturbances to traders, workers, and buyers in the Pasar Gede Solo area. Abstract

The terminal is one of the public facilities in the field of transportation whose existence is not only beneficial for the community. Terminals can have a serious impact on the environment, one of which is noise. . Noise is a sound that is produced from an activity but is unwanted and can disturb humans. Tirtonadi Terminal is a type A bus terminal located in Surakarta City. The terminal waiting room is a gathering place for many people such as traders, passengers, bus officers and terminal officers. The purpose of this study was to obtain results that were relevant to those in the field and to identify efforts that could be used to reduce or prevent noise propagation from reaching residential areas. . This research data was taken by direct measurement technique and literature study. The data obtained are in the form of noise level data at each sample point, noise quality standards at the terminal, and data related to noise measurements. The noise level data obtained were analyzed quantitatively by using the Leq calculation formula. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the noise level value in the two waiting room areas at Tirtonadi Terminal was around 54.2 dBA. The noise value indicates that the noise level in the waiting room area of Tirtonadi Terminal does not exceed the noise level quality standard based on the Decree of the Minister of the Environment Number 48/MENLH/11/1996. Efforts that can be made to prevent noise include reducing the volume of sound produced, regulating vehicle operating times, limiting the number of bus operations, and using natural and artificial barriers. Abstract

Proses produksi waterglass yang berlangsung di PT X, Sukoharjo menghasilkan sejumlah polutan atau emisi yang salah satunya berupa partikulat debu tersuspensi total atau Total Suspended Particulate (TSP). Kontaminasi debu TSP dalam udara ambien ini dikhawatirkan dapat mempengaruhi kondisi kesehatan lingkungan dan juga karyawan pabrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsentrasi dan tingkat risiko dari pajanan debu TSP di area produksi PT X. Penelitian dilakukan di area produksi PT X dengan metode pengambilan sampel TSP berdasarkan SNI 7119-3-2017 tentang cara uji partikel tersuspensi total menggunakan peralatan High Volume Air Sampler (HVAS) dan analisis risiko berdasarkan model Analisis Resiko Kesehatan Lingkungan (ARKL) yang dilakukan terhadap 35 orang pekerja berdasarkan metode total sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi debu TSP di area produksi PT X sebesar 287.02 μg/Nm3 dengan kategori tingkat risiko aman bagi 12 pekerja dengan kriteria berat badan 65.4 kg hingga 72.35 kg dan tidak aman bagi 23 pekerja dengan kriteria berat badan 52.8 kg hingga 63.8 kg.

Abstract

Dug well is a water source that is located relatively close to the ground surface so it is prone to pollution. This research aims to analyze the effect pollution source distance, construction and behavior of dug well users on total coliform content in Karangturi Village. Data collection was carried out by examining samples of dug well water in the laboratory, observing and measuring well construction, and using questionnaires to measure the behavior of well users. The research results show that 23 (95.8%) wells have a total coliform >0 MPN/100ml and 1 (4.2%) well have a total coliform content of 0 MPN/100ml. Simultaneously (p value=0.106) the variable distance to the pollutant source and partially (p value= 0.998) each livestock pen and septic tank variable do not have a significant influence on the total coliform content. Simultaneous well construction (p value= 0.489) and partially (p value= 0.999) of each well construction variable did not have a significant effect on the total coliform content. The behavioral variable simultaneously (p value= 0.346) and partially the knowledge variable (p value= 1.000), the attitude variable (p value= 0.999), and the attitude variable (p value= 0.999) did not have a significant effect on the total coliform content.

Abstract

Contamination of leachate due to excessive rainwater infiltration into landfill sites presents a significant environmental and public health concern. This study aims to address the adverse impacts of cadmium (Cd) pollution in leachate, specifically its risks to human health and the environment. To address this issue, the research investigates the use of natural adsorbents to mitigate agricultural waste. Straw and cassava peel, abundantly available in Indonesia due to the country's substantial rice and cassava production, were selected as potential adsorbents. The findings of this study are important for guiding pollution control measures and evaluating community activities near pollution sources, particularly focusing on Cd pollution originating from Putri Cempo in Jatirejo Village, Mojosongo, Jebres, Surakarta. The research shows that cassava peel waste is highly effective in adsorbing cadmium metal levels in leachate, with a significant total effectiveness (EF%) rating of 0.3144. Additionally, the study identifies the optimal burning temperature for activated charcoal derived from cassava peel as 600°C, resulting in the highest EF% value of 0.515152.

Abstract

Industri tahu dapat membawa dampak negatif karena berpotensi mencemari lingkungan. Permasalahan industri ini yaitu penggunaan kayu bakar, solar, listrik pompa air dan respirasi manusia yang menyumbang terhadap emisi gas rumah kaca. Tujuan penelitian mengidentifikasi dampak emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK) yang dihasilkan pada proses produksi tahu dan menentukan alternatif pengendalian yang menjadi prioritas dalam mereduksi dampak emisi GRK di industri tahu. Analisis data emisi gas rumah kaca menggunakan metode Life Cycle Assesment (LCA) dengan software OpenLCA. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan wawancara. Database yang digunakan Agribalyse, Ecoinvent dan ELCD. Metode penilaian dampak yaitu IPCC 2021 terdapat pada database ELCD. analisis data Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) menggunakan software Expert Choice untuk mendapatkan alternatif pengendalian emisi gas rumah kaca. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner. Industri tahu memiliki dua produk yaitu tahu putih dan tahu goreng bahan tahu bakso. Produk tahu putih memberikan dampak terhadap pemanasan global atau Global Warming Potential (GWP) sebesar 0,0704 kg CO2 eq/kg dan Produk tahu goreng bahan tahu bakso sebesar 0,1346 kg CO2 eq/kg. Kegiatan penggorengan memberikan kontributor utama dampak GWP sebesar 0,0501 kg CO2 eq/kg dikarenakan penggunaan kayu bakar sebagai bahan bakar. Alternatif pengendalian menunjukkan pilihan terbanyak yaitu kriteria lingkungan sebesar 65,4% dan alternatif biogas sebesar 58,2%.

Abstract

Noise can cause nuisance and significantly threaten people's health and well-being. This study aims to find the relationship between noise exposure with blood pressure and stress of traffic helper volunteers in Makassar City.  This study employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 80 respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique. Traffic noise was measured using a sound level meter, blood pressure was measured using a tension meter and work stress was measured using a work stress questionnaire adapted from Permenaker No. 5/2018. Questions relating to sociodemographic information were also distributed for individual characteristic data. The results showed there was a significant influence between noise intensity and systolic blood pressure (p value = 0.001; r = 0.329), also with diastolic blood pressure (p value = 0.02; r = 0.230), noise also affects fatigue (p value = 0.016; r = 0.238), the value of r on the strength of the correlation shows a fairly strong correlation. Thus, exposure to traffic noise is associated with a high risk of blood pressure and fatigue.
