Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce has transformed consumer behavior while creating environmental challenges through excessive consumption and fast fashion. Digital storytelling has emerged as a communication strategy to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainable consumption. This study examines the effect of digital storytelling on sustainable consumption intention through environmental awareness in purchasing sustainable fashion and accessories on Shopee. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using data collected through an online questionnaire from 100 Generation Z respondents in Palembang City selected by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS. The results show that digital storytelling positively and significantly affects environmental awareness (β = 0.449, p < 0.001) and sustainable consumption intention (β = 0.393, p < 0.001). Environmental awareness also positively influences sustainable consumption intention (β = 0.510, p < 0.001) and mediates the relationship between digital storytelling and sustainable consumption intention. These findings support the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) theory and provide practical implications for e-commerce businesses in designing effective sustainability-oriented marketing communication strategies.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of promotion and price on customers’ decisions to upgrade electricity capacity from a value-based decision perspective. The study focused on consumer decision-making behavior in public electricity utility services, particularly in the context of electricity capacity upgrades. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 100 customers who had experienced electricity capacity upgrade services. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that both promotion and price had significant positive effects on customer purchase decisions. However, price was identified as the more dominant factor influencing customer behavior. Promotion and price simultaneously explained 83.6% of the variance in customer purchase decisions. These findings indicate that customers in public utility services tend to make rational, value-oriented decisions, in which affordability and perceived economic benefits play a stronger role than promotional communication. This study contributes to marketing and consumer behavior literature by extending the value-based decision framework to public electricity utility services. The findings also provide managerial implications for developing customer-oriented pricing policies and effective digital promotion strategies in the electricity sector.

Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth has been significantly driven by women entrepreneurs in SMEs, which are vital for job creation and income generation. However, these enterprises face challenges in scaling and sustainability, influenced by social, environmental, economic, and governance factors. This study explores the mediating role of local wisdom in village environmental governance for the financial sustainability of women-led SMEs in South Sumatera, using the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) framework. A survey-based approach collected data from women entrepreneurs in formal and informal sectors, analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with Smart-PLS software. Findings reveal that local wisdom positively impacts financial sustainability through environmental governance, reinforcing the TBL’s emphasis on economic, social, and environmental balance. The study underscores the role of women entrepreneurs in fostering sustainable business practices and contributes to green entrepreneurship literature, calling for further research on sustainability-driven entrepreneurship in Indonesia.
