Abstract

The study was designed to evaluate the hematological effect of ethanol extract of Pirdot (Saurauia vulcani) (EES) in white rats induce rhodamine B and predict interaction of bioactive compound Pirdot to bind active site Keap1-Nrf2. Twenty- four Male Wistar rats (100-200 g) divided into four groups. Group P1 served as group control is administered with CMC 0.5%; group P2 is treated with Rhodamine B 750 mg/kg BW, Group KP1 administered EES 500 mg/kg BW; and Group KP2 is treated with EES 500 mg/kg BW+ Rhodamine B 750 mg/kg BW. Hematological parameters were assessed. The results revealed that red blood cell (RBC), white blood cell (WBC), thrombocyte count, and hemoglobin concentration (Hb) in rats induced Rhodamine B significantly lower than the control group. However, EES could improve the value of hematological profile. Our finding demonstrated that EES normalizes the value of hematological parameters in rats induce Rhodamine B. Moreover, beta-amyrin, pomolic acid and maslinic acid from Pirdot had good binding affinity to Keap1-Nrf2

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat alat bantu Multimedia Interaktif untuk topik sistem pernapasan. Opsi yang paling layak dapat ditentukan dengan menganalisis hasil validasi ahli media, ahli materi, evaluasi pendidik, dan umpan balik siswa. Model ADDIE digunakan sebagai kerangka kerja pengembangan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari kuesioner kelayakan materi, kuesioner kelayakan media, penilaian guru, respon siswa, dan pertanyaan pretest dan posttest. Penelitian ini menghasilkan data kelayakan materi dengan rata-rata 85,8% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Demikian pula dengan kelayakan media yang mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 89,37% dan dianggap sangat layak. Penilaian guru menghasilkan skor rata-rata 93%, juga dikategorikan sangat layak. Tanggapan siswa menghasilkan nilai rata-rata 92,5%, juga dikategorikan layak. Selain itu, hasil pretest dan posttest siswa menunjukkan adanya peningkatan, dengan nilai n-gain sebesar 0,6 yang menunjukkan tingkat peningkatan yang sedang. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan multimedia interaktif berbasis situs web untuk materi sistem pernapasan merupakan pendekatan yang sangat layak dan produktif untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa kelas 11.

Abstract

Abstract The development of STEM-based LKPD (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in this study aims to improve students' scientific literacy skills on excretory system material and is distributed through software construct 2 which has the advantage of not using programming languages . (coding) in its design. The research design applied is a research and development type with a 4-D framework model consisting of four stages, namely: 1) Definition, 2) Design, 3) Development (Develop) and 4) Implementation. The subjects in this study included validators of material experts, learning experts, design experts, educators in the field of biology studies and students of class XI MIPA-4 SMA Negeri 1 Kuala. The data collected and analyzed are quantitative data and qualitative data originating from interview observation sheets, validation sheets from the expert team of validators, educators' assessments and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the LKPD which had been validated by material experts obtained results with an average number of 89.58% with the "Very Eligible" category, the validation of learning experts by 84.16% in the "Very Eligible" category, design experts by 83.86 % with the "Very Eligible" category. ". The results of the assessment from educators in the field of biology studies obtained results with an average number of 94.6% in the "Very Eligible" category, and the results of the student questionnaire responses of 91.2% in the "Good" category.

Abstract

Student Worksheet (LKPD) is one way to support and activate learning activities so that students and teachers can interact more effectively, which can improve learning activities and student achievement. Because PhET media encourages creativity, it can help students' creative thinking skills. 4D technique, PhET Simulation helps the development of LKPD. In this study, data collection used observational methods, questionnaires, tests, and documentation methods. In this study, descriptive analysis and N-gain test were used for data analysis. Two material experts, learning experts, design experts, seventh grade science teachers, and 32 seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Sunggal became the sample. Based on the approval of LKPD, learning experts, and learning materials experts and design experts, class VII science teachers and 32 students of class VII SMP N 2 Sunggu. Based on expert validation, learning experts and LKPD material design experts, the participant's response was very good and the LKPD materials assisted by PhET Simulation could improve students' creative thinking skills, which can be seen from the N-gain calculation, which is 0.71 high categories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of interactive multimedia learning integrated with character values developed using  Adobe Flash CS 6 Software on the respiratory system material in humans based on the responses of material experts, media experts, field teachers, and students. This study uses a 4-D model of instructional development design, including the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages, limited to the limited deployment stage to see the students' classical learning completeness, namely 36 students. class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sipoholon Academic Year 2021/2022. The results showed that the interactive multimedia learning developed was suitable for use in learning the human respiratory system material because it met the eligibility criteria with an average score of 4.4 from material experts included in the very good criteria, an average score of 4.3 from media experts who included in the very good criteria, the average score of 4.7 from the subject teachers included in the very good criteria, and the average score for each test 4.5 from the students included in the very good criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce interactive multimedia-based biology learning media using a valid, practical and effective powerpoint media that can be applied as a biology learning medium on cell material. The type of research used is development research with a 4-D development model. This model includes four stages, namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating.  The results showed: (1) The validity of the media based on the assessment of media experts and material experts by getting an average percentage of 85.5% with the criteria of "very valid / very good". (2) The practicality of learning media based on student and teacher responses after using the media got an average percentage of 95.3% which included the "very practical" criteria. (3) The effectiveness of the media based on the results of student learning mastery after using interactive multimedia learning media is 86.1%. Then the calculation of the significance level is carried out with the ngain test score. From the results of manual calculations obtained n-gain score of 0.52. Based on the results of the study, the use of interactive multimedia learning media is said to be feasible with valid, practical and effective categories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of multimedia-based biology learning on the structure and function of tissue constituent cells in plants and animals at SMA Negeri 1 Onan Ganjang T.P 2021/2022. The research sample was obtained by random sampling technique. The sample consisted of 2 classes, namely class XI MIA 1 and XI MIA 2. The research design used was a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that the posttest average value of the experimental class was 91.26 higher than the control class's posttest average score of 82.6, the average value of the multimedia effectiveness questionnaire in the experimental class was 95.7 higher than the control class's average value. 60.7, and the average value of the teacher's questionnaire regarding the effectiveness of multimedia as a teaching material is 90. The effectiveness value obtained by comparing the n-gain of the experimental class and the control class is 1.65 which shows that multimedia is more effective than student worksheets. So it can be concluded that multimedia as a teaching material is effectively used in the structure and function of cells making up plant and animal tissues in class XI MIA at SMA Negeri 1 Onan Ganjang T.P 2021/2022.

Abstract

Insulin resistance related to pancreatic islet and spleen was one of incidence for diabetes mellitus disease. Our study determined the potential antidiabetic of Pirdot leaves (Saurauia vulcani, Korth.) (EEP) through in vivo and in silico approach. The effect of Pirdot on blood glucose level and histopathological pancreatic and spleen was analyzed by in vivo. Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into five groups as follows. Group KN served as negative control and was orally given distilled water; group KP were only 5.04 mg/ kg alloxan administered; group P1 were administered 16.5 mg/kg EEP and 5.04 mg/kg alloxan; group P2 were administered 33 mg/kg EEP and 5.04 mg/kg alloxan; group P3 rats 66 mg/kg EEP and 5.04 mg/kg alloxan. A single dose of alloxan was given in rats diabetic at KP, P1, P2, and P3 group treatment. Furthermore, the protein-protein interaction (PPI) and molecular docking were used to predict the interaction between the crossed genes in diabetes mellitus (DM) with 6 active compounds of Pirdot through in silico approach. The results indicated that Saurauia vulcani significantly decreased blood glucose and improved the histopathological alteration of pancreatic islet and spleen in alloxan induced treated diabetic rats. Moreover, the network pharmacology demonstrated ten hub genes and three genes target such as GANC (α-glucosidase), DPP4, and PTPN1 (tyrosine phosphatase protein) contributed in DM signaling pathway. Finally, the molecular docking study showed that the bioactive compounds Pirdot have a good binding affinity to the active site of PTP1B and α-glucosidase protein when compared to acarbose as a control compound
