Abstract

The application of Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory in early childhood education curriculum development plays an important role in creating learning programmes that are appropriate to children's developmental stages. Piaget's theory, which identifies sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational and formal operational stages, offers guidance for educators to design appropriate educational activities that support children in each stage of development. Learning through direct experience and play activities, in accordance with Piaget's principles, allows children to learn through interaction with their environment, reinforcing understanding and skills naturally. This approach not only makes the learning process more interesting and relevant for children, but also ensures that the concepts taught are appropriate for their cognitive abilities. The implementation of Piaget's theory in the curriculum also emphasises the early development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are important for intellectual development and readiness to face future challenges. Thus, Piaget's theory contributes significantly to shaping a curriculum that is adaptive, child-centred and effective in supporting children's holistic development early in their educational journey.

Abstract

Innovation in education management is essential to improve the quality of learning in an ever-evolving era. This study uses the literature method. The results show that innovative strategies that can be implemented by educational institutions to improve student engagement and the effectiveness of the learning process include the utilisation of digital technology, teacher professional development and collaboration with external stakeholders. Then, to implement these strategies, there are common challenges such as resistance to change and budget constraints that can be a barrier to implementing innovation. With a comprehensive and planned approach, as well as high commitment from all members of the organisation, these innovations are expected to provide significant improvements to the quality of education and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article discusses the dilemma faced by teachers in the face of endless curriculum changes. Constant changes in education standards require teachers to be adaptive and innovative, although they often lack adequate training and support. This difficulty highlights the importance of approaches involving professional capacity building, collaboration between teachers and psychosocial support to help teachers navigate these challenges. With the right strategies, it is hoped that teachers will be more competent and motivated to implement the new curriculum, resulting in significantly improved learning quality and student achievement.

Abstract

The study aims to explore the impact of the application of local wisdom in the learning material on the motivation of students in primary schools. In today's educational context, there is a growing awareness of the importance ofining and integrating local values and practices into the formal education system as a means of supporting a learning process that is more relevant and meaningful to students. This study investigates how the integration of local wisdom into the curriculum can motivate students to participate more in the learning process as well as improve their understanding of the lessons delivered. The research uses a method of literary review, which involves the collection and analysis of various literary sources relevant to the research topic. These resources include journal articles, textbooks, research reports, and online resources related to local wisdom, contextual learning, and student learning motivation. Research results show that the integration of local Wisdom into the learning material has a positive effect on the motivation of students in elementary schools. Students tend to feel more connected to the materials taught when they can identify elements of their own local culture and environment. This makes it easier for students to understand the abstract concepts taught, while enriching them with wider knowledge of the environment in which they live. Furthermore, research finds that the use of local wisdom in education also contributes to the development of student pride and cultural identity. From a pedagogical point of view, teaching using local wisdom-based content and methods shows the potential to encourage active and participatory learning, which directly boosts learning motivation.

Abstract

Abstract The development of STEM-based LKPD (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in this study aims to improve students' scientific literacy skills on excretory system material and is distributed through software construct 2 which has the advantage of not using programming languages . (coding) in its design. The research design applied is a research and development type with a 4-D framework model consisting of four stages, namely: 1) Definition, 2) Design, 3) Development (Develop) and 4) Implementation. The subjects in this study included validators of material experts, learning experts, design experts, educators in the field of biology studies and students of class XI MIPA-4 SMA Negeri 1 Kuala. The data collected and analyzed are quantitative data and qualitative data originating from interview observation sheets, validation sheets from the expert team of validators, educators' assessments and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the LKPD which had been validated by material experts obtained results with an average number of 89.58% with the "Very Eligible" category, the validation of learning experts by 84.16% in the "Very Eligible" category, design experts by 83.86 % with the "Very Eligible" category. ". The results of the assessment from educators in the field of biology studies obtained results with an average number of 94.6% in the "Very Eligible" category, and the results of the student questionnaire responses of 91.2% in the "Good" category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning biology on the respiratory system material based on integrated multimedia character education at SMAN 2 Percut Sei Tuan TP 2021/2022. The sample used in this study was one class (40 people). This research is quantitative descriptive. The instruments used to collect data are multiple choice tests and questionnaires. The data collection method used in this study was observation, interviews, questionnaires and tests (multiple choice) as a result of student learning given a score. The percentage of students' learning completeness (80%) or 24 students are said to be complete because they get a score that exceeds the KKM limit and (20%) or 6 students are not complete because the student is not able to get a score above the KKM limit. Thus, it can be concluded that learning biology on the material of the multimedia-based respiratory system integrated character education at SMAN 2 Percut Sei Tuan TP 2021/2022 is quite effective.

Abstract

Student Worksheet (LKPD) is one way to support and activate learning activities so that students and teachers can interact more effectively, which can improve learning activities and student achievement. Because PhET media encourages creativity, it can help students' creative thinking skills. 4D technique, PhET Simulation helps the development of LKPD. In this study, data collection used observational methods, questionnaires, tests, and documentation methods. In this study, descriptive analysis and N-gain test were used for data analysis. Two material experts, learning experts, design experts, seventh grade science teachers, and 32 seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Sunggal became the sample. Based on the approval of LKPD, learning experts, and learning materials experts and design experts, class VII science teachers and 32 students of class VII SMP N 2 Sunggu. Based on expert validation, learning experts and LKPD material design experts, the participant's response was very good and the LKPD materials assisted by PhET Simulation could improve students' creative thinking skills, which can be seen from the N-gain calculation, which is 0.71 high categories.
