Abstract

Matematika adalah mata pelajaran wajib yang mengasah kemampuan siswa untuk menyelesaikan berbagai persoalan, tetapi banyak siswa menghadapi kesulitan, terutama pada topik Aljabar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kendala yang menyebabkan siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah saat proses menyelesaikan soal Aljabar. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui tes dengan memberikan empat soal esai berbasis konteks budaya Bengkulu kepada siswa kelas VIII E. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kesulitan dalam menuliskan perencaaan penyelesaian, siswa kesulitan mentransformasikan informasi pada soal ke dalam bentuk Aljabar, dan siswa kesulitan dalam melakukan proses memeriksa kembali jawaban, tetapi pemberian soal berbasis budaya ini membantu siswa lebih memahami masalah yang ada pada soal.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of Guided Inquiry Learning-oriented learning with a scientific approach on understanding mathematical concepts of PGMI UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu students. The research design uses an experimental method with an experimental group and a control group. The results of the analysis show that students who were taught using Guided Inquiry Learning-oriented learning experienced a significant increase in understanding mathematical concepts compared to learning without a Guided Inquiry Learning orientation, even though both used a scientific approach. A significant value of less than 0.05 in a statistical test indicates that the difference can be considered statistically significant. However, the results of further analysis showed that there was no significant difference in increasing understanding of mathematical concepts between classes that used the Scientific Approach and the control group in two particular classes (Class=2 and Class=3). A P-value greater than 0.05 in statistical analysis indicates that the results are not statistically significant. Thus, although there was a significant increase in understanding of mathematical concepts in the group that implemented Guided Inquiry Learning-oriented learning, this research also showed that there was no significant difference in this increase between this group and the control group in two particular classes. These results provide further understanding about the effectiveness of certain learning methods in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to test the validity and practicality of the Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based teaching module integrated with the Wordwall application on similarity material. The method used is the development of Plomp consisting of 5 stages, namely Preliminary investigation, design, relation/construction, test, evaluation and revision and Implementation. With the validation sheet as the main instrument and a feasibility score of 89.83% with the category "Very Valid" and the practicality questionnaire from the overall student responses obtained a percentage score of 88.5% with the category "Very Practical". Based on the results developed by the researcher entitled Validity Test and Practicality Test of Problem Based Learning-Based Teaching Modules and Integrated Wordwall on Similarity Material, it is concluded that the Problem Based Learning-based LKPD that has been developed has met the criteria of being very valid and very practical. These findings support the effectiveness of the PBL approach and the integration of digital media such as Wordwall in improving the quality of mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bengkulu Utara tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 288 siswa dan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VIII E dan VIII H yang berjumlah 64 siswa. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh linear kovariat kemampuan awal terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa sebesar 60,4%. (2) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan mengontrol kemampuan awal siswa sebesar 33,3%. (3) pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa di kelas yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori.
