Abstract

Ancient manuscripts are one of the historical relics that must be preserved in existence. Along with the development of science, the field of critical discourse analysis is increasingly in demand. But unfortunately, ancient manuscripts are still rarely studied with this field of imu. Therefore, this studyaims to present a critical discourse analysis on ancient manuscripts, namely the Bima Land Customary Law (HATB) manuscript belonging to the Bima (Mbojo) regional community in the province of West Nusa Tenggara. The presentation was delivered descriptively with Norman Fairclough's Model Critical Discourse Analysis Method. The research data is in the form of quotations of verses in the HATB manuscript. Data is collected by Listening Methods and Document Analysis Techniques. At the data analysis stage, the Norman Fairclough Model Critical Discourse Analysis is used by putting into practice all elements of its structure. In addition, data analysis activities utilize interactive analysis according to Miles and Huberman. Next, the data is presented by formal and informal methods. Based on the data analysis, it was shown that Fairclough divided the discourse analysis into three dimensions, namely text, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice. In the text of the Customary Law of Bima Land, these three things are integrated and sustainable. The manuscript was made by the people, because of the people, and in the interest of the people. The verses in the HATB text are representations of the relationship between man and God, man with man with other beings, and man with himself.

Abstract

Writing competencies demand mastery of other language skills, as writing is perceived to be the most significant aspect of language, especially poetry, which has distinct characteristics. However, despite the fact that learning to write poetry is challenging, it plays a crucial role in literature and education. In this regard, it can affect students' character and personality, broaden their perspectives on life, and improve their language skills. In order to achieve the predetermined goals, contextual learning materials and media must be tailored to the nature and needs of the students. In the context of this research, the materials were ancient poetry texts in the form of verses synchronized with the Wordwall media. The incorporated material and media were determined based on the Pancasila student profile. Researchers employed a qualitative research design with a descriptive method. The study was conducted in three senior high schools in North Kayong Regency, West Kalimantan Province, which implemented the Sekolah Penggerak program. Three Indonesian language teachers and nine students from the three schools participated in this research. The results demonstrated the significance of six Syair Gulung containing Pancasila student profiles that were deemed practical and entertaining as learning materials. Thus, the combination of Syair Gulung and the Wordwall media was viewed as effective for teaching students how to write poetry. AbstrakMenguasai keterampilan menulis harus menguasai keterampilan berbahasa lainnya, karena menulis merupakan aspek kebahasaan tertinggi. Terlebih lagi menulis puisi yang memiliki sifat bahasa yang khas. Namun demikian, walaupun pembelajaran menulis puisi yang merupakan pembelajaran dengan kategori rumit, namun memiliki peranan penting dalam sastra dan dunia pendidikan. Peran tersebut dapat mempengaruhi watak, kepribadian, memperluas wawasan kehidupan, dan meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa murid. Dalam hal pemenuhan tujuan pembelajaran tersebut diperlukan materi dan media pembelajaran yang kontekstual sesuai kodrat dan kebutuhan murid. Materi tersebut berupa teks puisi lama berbentuk syair yang dielaraskan dengan media wordwall. Materi dan media tersebut sebagai bentuk pembelajaran berdeferensiasi dengan basis profil pelajar Pancasila. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan bentuk deskriptif. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah sekolah penggerak tingkat SMA di Kabupaten Kayong Utara Provinsi Kalimantan Barat yang berjumlah 3 sekolah. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 3 guru bahasa Indonesia serta 9 murid yang berasal dari 3 sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan makna 6 syair gulung yang memiliki kandungan profil pelajar Pancasila yang efektif dan menyenangkan untuk digunakan sebagai materi pembelajaran. Syair gulung dengan media wordwall merupakan kombinasi yang berdampak pada terpenuhinya kebutuhan murid dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi.

Abstract

Pembelajaran di sekolah tidak terlepas dari adanya alih kode dan campur kode yang berkaitan dengan kesantunan berbahasa di sekolah sebagai implementasi pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik rekam, teknik catat, teknik simak libat bebas, dan teknik wawancara. Lokasi penelitian berada di SMP PGRI 2 Wates sebagai, Kabupaten Blitar, Provinsi Jawa Timur, sebagai sekolah sasaran dalam program Kampus Mengajar 4 Tahun 2022. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah peristiwa tutur atau komunikasi antara guru dan siswa kelas VII, VIII, dan IX di SMP PGRI 2 Wates. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dalam pembelajaran di SMP PGRI 2 Wates terdapat alih kode dan campur kode dalam pembelajaran di kelas dengan menggunakan bahasa Jawa dan bahasa Indonesia, penggunaan bahasa Jawa kepada guru siswa sudah mampu menggunakan Jawa Krama sehingga terdapat pengaruh terhadap kesantunan berbahasa sebagai implementasi pendidikan karakter dan penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila. Fungsi kesantunan berbahasa berupa unggah-ungguh berbahasa Jawa terhadap siswa kepada guru membuat interaksi yang terjadi saat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menyenangkan serta nyaman, selain itu keakraban guru dan siswa mampu terjalin dengan adanya aspek alih kode dan campur kode dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Pengaruh kesantunan berbahasa dalam pembelajaran di SMP PGRI 2 Wates tidak terlepas dari budaya Jawa masyarakat Wates yang masih melekat dengan unggah-ungguh Jawa untuk menghormati orang yang lebih tua atau orang yang dihormati dalam kesantunan berbahasa Jawa.

Abstract

Suruhan Hamlet, Rogomulyo Village is an area in Central Java, precisely in Kaliwungu District, Semarang Regency. People in this region continue to preserve traditions, one of which is the Merti Desa tradition. This research was conducted to determine (1) the meaning of the Merti Desa tradition (uborampe, art performance) for the residents of Suruhan Hamlet, Rogomulyo Village; (2) the differences between the Merti Desa and the other traditions intended to pray for the ancestors in the same area, and their comparison with other regions; (3) the community's efforts in maintaining the Merti Desa tradition. This study employed a qualitative method involving a phenomenology approach. It focused on community activities in carrying out a tradition. The data were collected through journals, news articles, field observations, and interviews. The findings indicated that the people of Suruhan Hamlet, Rogomulyo Village preserved the Merti Desa tradition as local wisdom aimed to express public gratitude to God Almighty. Besides, several other traditions were also being preserved, including the Nyadran, to express gratitude and pray for the ancestors. The implementation of the Merti Desa tradition contained many values or meanings in each of its stages.

Abstract

Sanggring is a food served every 23rd of Ramadan at the Jami' Sunan Dalem Mosque in Gumeno Village, Gresik Regency, as a joint iftar menu. The Sanggring tradition is unique and still exists today. Thus, researchers considered it essential to be studied further. This research focused on three issues, as stated in the problem formulation: The history of the Sanggring tradition in Gumeno Village, the implementation process, and symbols of religiosity, values, and functions. In the present study, researchers employed a qualitative research method. The findings revealed that the tradition of fast-breaking with the Sanggring menu was encouraged by Sunan Dalem's illness while doing da'wah (inviting or calling people to embrace Islam) in Gumeno Village, which was later reinforced by the community's magical experiences and beliefs. In the life of the local community, the Sanggring was initially an expression of gratitude for the recovery of Sunan Dalem. Nowadays, its functions have developed into social, cultural, and political.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam mendeskripsikan penerapan modul ajar materi laporan hasil observasi kurikulum merdeka mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Surakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui cara guru dalam menerapkan modul ajar yang dibuat pada kurikulum merdeka yang baru diterapkan. Data disajikan dan dianalisis menggunakan narasi deskriptif, studi kasus, analisis dokumen, dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengimplementasian modul ajar pada materi laporan hasil observasi di sekolah yang merapkan kurikulum merdeka kategori mandiri berubah. Penggunaan modul ajar secara teori sudah sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku. Namun, pada praktinya masih ada kegiatan pembelajaran yang melebihi batas waktu yang ditentukan. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan antara rencana dan praktik melebihi jam pembelajaran. Selain itu, modul ajar yang memuat pembelajaran berdiferensiasi belum dilakukan secara optimal. Praktiknya guru masih menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang sama pada murid yang karakteristik gaya belajarnya berbeda-beda. Keterbatasan buku teks yang dimiliki  cukup menjadi kendala dalam pelaksanaanya.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the integration of a contextual learning model based on ecological literacy in Indonesian language learning within vocational high schools. The aim is to enhance students' language skills and foster their active participation in learning Indonesian through contextual and relevant experiences. Methodology: The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing classroom learning processes. Data sources include speech, actions, and supporting documents collected during the research. Purposive sampling was used to select teachers and students from class X of Vocational High Schools 1 Sawit Boyolali as participants. Research instruments consisted of observation records, interview lists, and documentation. Method triangulation was applied to ensure validity, incorporating observations, interviews, and analysis of classroom learning processes. Data were analyzed descriptively to present detailed findings and draw conclusions. Main Findings: The findings reveal significant improvements in students’ language skills through ecological literacy-based Indonesian learning. The contextual learning model aligns with students’ vocational expertise, enabling them to engage deeply with language in practical and meaningful contexts. This approach not only enhances reading and comprehension skills but also builds students' confidence in expressing ideas verbally and in writing. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a novel approach by integrating ecological literacy into Indonesian language education, addressing linguistic and environmental awareness. It provides new insights into how contextual learning tailored to students’ vocational fields can enrich language skills, bridging academic content with real-world applications. This research offers a valuable model for innovative and interdisciplinary education.
