Abstract

Pemahaman kalimat dalam pembelajaran merupakan hal yang perlu dipelajari siswa sejak di bangku sekolah dasar. Sayangnya, masih banyak siswa yang kesulitan memahami isi bacaan terutama pada mata pelajaran Bahasan Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap teks bacaan melalui penerapan teknik mind mapping pada siswa kelas sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitin Tindakan Kelas (PTK) untuk memantau perkembangan tingkat pemahaman bacaan siswa secara langsung. Teknik mind mapping dipilih karena dapat membantu siswa mengorganisasi ide utama dan hubungan antar-konsep secara visual, sehingga diharapkan meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Suharsimi Arikunto. Penelitian tindakan terbagi dalam prasiklus, siklus 1, dan siklus 2. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 siswa kelas V yang terdiri dari 10 siswa laki-laki dan 15 siswa perempuan. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, tes diagnostic pemahaman teks bacaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman siswa terhadap teks bacaan, tercermin dari hasil tes pada prasiklus sebesar 50,8 siklus 1 sebesar 64,8 dan siklus 2 sebesar 82,4. Selain itu, teknik ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menyenangkan serta interaktif. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru untuk menerapkan teknik pembelajaran inovatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to design and build a security system at the Medan State Polytechnic Campus based on the Internet of Things (IoT) which is equipped with motion detection and remote surveillance features. The system is designed to improve campus security by utilizing sensor technology and internet connectivity that allows real-time monitoring. In this study, motion sensors were installed in strategic areas on campus to detect suspicious activity. The data from the sensor will be sent to the server and processed to provide notifications to users through the mobile application when unusual movements are detected. The system is also equipped with remotely accessible surveillance cameras, allowing users to monitor the situation on campus anytime and anywhere. Research methods include system design, hardware and software programming, and system testing to ensure its performance and reliability. The test results showed that the system could detect movement with high accuracy and send notifications in less than a second. The remote surveillance feature also works well, giving users direct access to view live video footage. The conclusion of this study is that the designed IoT-based security system is effective in improving the security of the Polmed Campus. It is hoped that this system can be widely applied in other educational institutions to support the safety of students and staff. This research also opens up opportunities for further development in IoT-based security technologies.

Abstract

This community service aimed to improve students' understanding of praiseworthy morals through audio-visual media in Islamic Religious Education (FAI) subject at grade III of SDN 068 Rumbio. The implementation involved 25 students and utilized interactive audio-visual media including animated videos, moral stories with visual illustrations, and educational games. Pre-test and post-test methods were employed to measure students' understanding improvement, along with observation and interviews. Results showed significant improvement in students' understanding of praiseworthy morals, with average scores increasing from 65.2 to 83.4. Students demonstrated better comprehension of moral concepts such as honesty, respect, cooperation, and responsibility. The audio-visual media proved effective in engaging students and making abstract moral concepts more concrete and understandable. Teachers also reported positive responses regarding the implementation of this innovative learning approach. The success factors included appropriate media selection, active student participation, and strong support from school management.

Abstract

Permasalahan layanan kesehatan di Posyandu Lingkungan I Kelurahan Martubung Kecamatan Medan Labuhan Sumatera Utara, terjadi akibat kerusakan timbangan balita yang menyebabkan keterlambatan dalam pemantauan pertumbuhan dan status gizi anak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi melalui diseminasi teknologi berupa timbangan digital terintegrasi dengan aplikasi Android yang dapat digunakan untuk pencatatan dan pemantauan gizi balita secara lebih cepat, akurat, dan terakomodasi. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup survei awal, wawancara, penyedia sarana prasarana, pelatihan kader posyandu, evaluasi kegiatan, serta penyususnan srtategi keberlanjutan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kader mampu mengoperasikan alat dan aplikasi secara mandiri, serta menunjukkan antusiasme dalam memangfaatkan teknologi tersebut untuk kegiatan rutin posyandu. Kegiatan ini juga merancang tahapan keberlanjutan jangka panjang berupa pendamping teknis, integrasi data dengan Puskesmas serta replikasi ke posyandu lain di wilayah sekitar. Dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan penerapan teknologi, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan mutu layanan posyandu serta memperkuat peran kader dalama menjaga kesehatan balita di lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (KKN) focuses on empowering a group of women in Huta Baru Village, Mandailing Natal Regency, through the implementation of Marsanji, a local tradition rich in religious, cultural, and communal values. Marsanji serves as a medium for spiritual expression within the community as well as a vehicle for strengthening social interaction and cultural identity. The objective of the activity is to increase the active participation of women in the preservation of local culture and to encourage the role of women in maintaining the sustainability of traditional values amid the challenges of modernization. The implementation methods included field observations, interviews with community leaders, socialization on the importance of cultural preservation, training in activity organization skills, and direct assistance in the implementation of Marsanji. The implementation lasted for two months with weekly meetings facilitated by the KKN team and local traditional leaders. The results of the activity showed an increase in the mothers' understanding, enthusiasm, and involvement, both in terms of cultural knowledge and the regular implementation of Marsanji. The observed social impacts included strengthened solidarity, an increased sense of community among residents, and the growth of young people's concern for cultural heritage. In practical terms, this program contributed to the revitalization of local traditions and opened up opportunities for sustainable women's empowerment at the village level. The recommendations include documenting activities, creating preservation guide modules, and forming independent implementation groups as models for replicating culture-based community service programs. Further evaluation is recommended to measure the long-term impact on the local economy, cultural education, and community sustainability. Involve youth and traditional leaders.
