Abstract

Arabic rhetoric comprises rhetoric, semantics, and embellishment, with Badī‘ holding a key position. One notable technique is Tasdir (repetition of the end at the beginning), found in both prose and poetry. In prose, it places a repeated or related word at the beginning and end of a paragraph, while in poetry, the repetition occurs within or between hemistichs. This study examines Tasdir in Tamim Al-Barghouthi’s Al-Burda, a rare and modern addition to Arabic literary history. Using a descriptive method with coding and statistical analysis, the research identified 23 instances of Tasdir: 16 cases of exact repetition and 7 of derived repetition, appearing in various structural positions. The study concludes that Tasdir in Al-Burda serves three main functions: reinforcing meaning, enhancing musical rhythm, and creating contrast. These elements contribute to the poem’s eloquence and artistic beauty, making Tasdir a vital rhetorical device in its construction. This study aims to analyze the use of the tasdīr technique in Tamim al-Barghuthi’s poem Al-Burda—examining its frequency and patterns—and to evaluate its aesthetic contributions in strengthening meaning, creating rhythmic balance, and conveying paradoxes, employing a descriptive approach, systematic coding, and statistical analysis.   تتألف البلاغة العربية من ثلاثة علوم مستقلة: البيان والمعاني والبديع. واحتل البديع مكانة مرموقة منذ القدم عند العرب، وكان من فروعه التصدير (رد العجز على الصدر)، وهو أن يجعل أحد اللفظين المكررين أو المتجانسين أو الملحق بالمتجانسين في أول الفقرة والآخر في آخرها، هذا في النثر. أما في الشعر فهو أن يكون أحد اللفظين في آخر البيت والآخر في صدر المصراع الأول أو في حشوه أو في آخر أو في صدر المصراع الثاني، وندر الشعر خال منه. واتخذ البحث قصيدة البردة للشاعر تميم البرغوثي موضوع تحليله، ويرجع ذلك إلى حداثيتها ونوادرها، فإنها رابعة البردات الثلاث الموجودة في مسيرة القصيدة العربية. وقام البحث على المنهج الوصفي باعتماد القراءة المعمقة والكتابة المدققة كأسلوب جمع بياناته، وأجرى الباحث عملية الترميز والإحصاء ليجد كل التصدير الموجود فيها. فكانت نتائج البحث وجود استعمالات التصدير في كل أبياتها 23 تصديرا من حيث صيغة كلماته وموقعها. 16 من التصدير المكرر و7 من التصدير المشتق، وكلها من حيث موقعها حلت في صدر المصراع الأول والضرب مرتين، وفي حشو المصراع الأول والضرب مرتين، وفي العروض والضرب 7 مرات، وفي الحشوين من المصراعين 17 مرة. وجميع التصدير الموجود لا يخرج من ثلاثة فوائد، وهي تكريس المعنى الأساسي، وتنسيق الإيقاع الموسيقي، وبيان معنى المفارقة. يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل استخدام تقنية التصدير في قصيدة البردة لتميم البرغوثي، وذلك من حيث التكرار وتوزيعه، وتقييم مساهمتها الجمالية في تعزيز المعنى، خلق التوازن الإيقاعي، وتقديم تناقضات عبر منهج وصفي، ترميز منهجي، وتحليل إحصائي.   Ilmu Balaghah terdiri dari tiga disiplin ilmu independen yaitu bayān, ma‘ānī, dan badī‘. Sejak dahulu, badī‘ telah menempati posisi penting dalam tradisi kesastraan Arab, salah satu babnya adalah tasdīr (pengulangan akhir di awal). Dalam prosa, teknik ini menempatkan salah satu dari dua kata yang diulang atau memiliki kesamaan di awal paragraf dan yang lainnya di akhir. Dalam puisi, pengulangan dapat terjadi di akhir bait dan di awal penggalan pertama, di tengahnya, atau di awal atau awal penggalan kedua. Hampir tidak ada puisi yang sepenuhnya bebas dari unsur ini. Penelitian ini menganalisis puisi Al-Burda karya Tamim Al-Barghuthi, yang dipilih karena keunikannya serta posisinya sebagai Burda keempat dalam sejarah sastra Arab. Studi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan membaca secara mendalam dan menulis secara teliti untuk mengumpulkan data. Melalui proses pengkodean dan analisis statistik, penelitian ini menemukan 23 penggunaan tasdīr di seluruh baitnya, dan seni tasdīr dalam puisi ini mengandung tiga manfaat utama: memperkuat makna inti, menciptakan keseimbangan irama syair, dan menampilkan penggunaan makna kontradiktif dan paradoks. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penggunaan teknik tasdīr dalam puisi Al-Burda karya Tamim al-Barghuthi—termasuk frekuensi dan pola kemunculannya—serta mengevaluasi kontribusi estetisnya dalam memperkuat makna, membangun keseimbangan ritmis, dan menyampaikan paradoks melalui pendekatan deskriptif, pengkodean sistematis, dan analisis statistik.

Abstract

The dissolution of the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century shook the Islamic world, worsened by Italy’s Colonial Conquests of Tripoli (1911–1912). This study examines the representation of history in an Arabic poem by the Indian poet Abdul Hamid al-Farahi, titled Fī Taṭāwul al-Ṭalyān ʿalā Ṭarābulus, using Stephen Greenblatt's New Historicism. The research uncovers how al-Farahi’s poem serves as a literary response to the fall of the Ottoman Empire during Italian colonial aggression. The historical context is analyzed in parallel with poetic expression within the New Historicism framework. The method used is descriptive-qualitative with the following stages: (1) repeated close reading, (2) translation of verses, (3) identification of historical symbols, and (4) thematic classification. Data analysis involves (1) parallel reading between the poem and historical texts and (2) interpretation based on subthemes. The results show that the poem reflects themes of colonization, the suffering of the Muslim community, the trauma of invasion, and a call to defend religious and national dignity. Through New Historicism, the study demonstrates that literature and historical narratives are interconnected, and that al-Farahi’s poem can be read as a historical form of resistance against colonial oppression.

Abstract

The use of flashcard learning media is expected to improve students' mastering of Arabic vocabulary.  flashcards have the following features (1) Flashcards are effective picture cards, (2) Has two front and back sides, (3) the Front side contains pictures, (4) the Back side contains definitions, picture captions, answers, (5) Simple and easy to make. This study aims to determine the effect of flashcard media on Arabic vocabulary mastery. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research. Room A experimental group room B is the control group. Data was collected by test techniques and documentation. Instrument Test Data Analysis, Prerequisite Test namely Normality Test Homogeneity Test and Hypothesis Test. The sig value is obtained. (2-tailed) of 0.014 then Hα is accepted. That there is an effect of the use of flash card media on the Arabic vocabulary skills of students at Al-Azhar Roudlotul Muttaqiin. This research is expected to be used as a reference and can be used and then developed into four skills, namely: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis film pendek berbahasa Arab “Muhsin dan Mahasin” berdasarkan teori behavioristik Bloomfield. Teori behavioristik (Behavioral Theory) ini memfokuskan kajiannya pada aspek perilaku yang dapat diamati secara kasat mata, atau biasanya disebut dengan teori stimulus-respon, yang dimana dalam perilaku berbahasa adalah sebuah stimulus yang akan mengakibatkan sebuah respon tertentu, baik respon yang diinginkan oleh si pemberi stimulus ataupun tidak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik tonton dan catat. Dalam hal ini peneliti memberi batasan data, yaitu episode pertama hingga episode ketiga. Penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukannya 10 data; 5 diantaranya merupakan stimulus, dan 5 data yang lain merupakan respon dari stimulus yang diberikan

Abstract

This paper will discuss implementing the drill/practice method for learning Arabic with a communicative approach. This study uses a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were all 7G class students at MTs Negeri Kota Batu. The data collected is in the form of the latest learning information data, the number of students, and data on the implementation of learning methods. Data collection using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out according to the theory of Miles and Huberman, with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result indicates that the drill method with a communicative approach is implemented through three steps. Firstly, the planning stage involves preparing a learning program plan. Secondly, the implementation stage applies the drill method based on the characteristics of the communicative approach. Lastly, the evaluation phase employs formative evaluation techniques. The study identifies four supporting factors for the method's application: student participation, cognitive abilities, clarity of instruction, and availability of learning facilities. This study provides valuable insights and knowledge to improve Arabic language teaching for teachers and researchers to develop additional learning on more functional skills.

Abstract

This article aims to describe application of jigsaw learning strategy and crossword puzzle in Maharah qiraah learning, which includes three aspects: 1) planning, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive method. Data collection technique used observation, interviews and documentation. The research results are: 1) planning Maharah qiraah learning by applying jigsaw strategy and crossword puzzle media in form of preparing a lesson plan and preparing crossword puzzle questions related to social text material. 2) implementation of Maharah qiraah learning by applying jigsaw model and crossword puzzle media in form of opening activities namely class conditioning and delivery of learning objectives, and core activity is studying qiraah material with jigsaw model with the steps: instructing jigsaw model, forming original group, continuing to form expert group, after which each expert group presented the results of discussion related to paragraphs that had been discussed, evaluation from lecturer. 3) evaluation is carried out by distributing crossword puzzle worksheets to each student and then they are welcome to work on each one. The implications of this research can help improve the quality of Maharah qiraah learning and provide a more innovative and interesting approach for students in understanding Arabic texts.
