Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of pop-up store marketing strategies, customer experience, and prices on consumer visit intent at La Brisa Sunday Market Bali. Using the framework of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study examines the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, and behavioral control on the intention to visit. Data was obtained through a questionnaire to 385 respondents, the majority of whom were domestic tourists aged 20–44 years. The results of the regression analysis showed that the three independent variables had a significant effect on visit intention, with customer experience as the most dominant factor (t = 9,449), followed by price (t = 9,299) and pop-up store strategy (t = 5,518). Key indicators that influence visitor intent include social media recognition, competitive pricing, and market path design. These findings provide strategic implications for MSMEs and market managers to improve visual elements, cultural experiences, and the integration of cashless payment systems in the development of pop-up market-based destinations.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy; however, many MSME products remain less competitive due to inadequate packaging quality, as commonly found in Lontar Village, Surabaya, where packaging tends to be simple, minimally informative, and lacking clear product identity, which negatively affects consumer perception and market competitiveness. This study aims to empower MSME actors in Lontar Village by enhancing their knowledge and skills in designing and implementing professional, functional, and market-oriented product packaging to increase product selling value. The activity employed a participatory workshop and mentoring approach involving ten MSME actors selected through purposive sampling, with data collected through observation, documentation, and evaluation of packaging conditions before and after the activity and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of packaging as a strategic marketing tool, along with enhancements in visual design, completeness of packaging information, material suitability, and overall packaging functionality, demonstrating that the training and mentoring process effectively strengthened both technical skills and strategic awareness of packaging in shaping product image and competitiveness. These findings suggest that practical and contextual packaging empowerment programs can enhance MSME readiness to compete in local and modern markets and serve as a strategic entry point for sustainable MSME development policies.
