Abstract

The rapid development of educational technology and increasing emphasis on Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) have made inquiry-based learning models in biology online education a crucial area of research. This study aims to analyze inquiry-based learning models in biology online learning using bibliometric analysis, focusing on publications from 2013 to 2023 sourced from the Google Scholar database. Out of an initial 298 articles, 53 relevant articles were identified and analyzed. The research methodology involved systematic stages, including keyword searches, refinement of results, data compilation, and analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer software. The findings reveal that the number of publications on inquiry models in biology online learning fluctuates annually. Articles were categorized based on criteria such as the type of inquiry model (e.g., guided inquiry, free inquiry), variables studied, research locations, citation counts, HOTS components (e.g., critical thinking, problem-solving), types of online learning (e.g., interactive content, blended learning), and bibliometric visualizations. Notably, the study identified critical thinking and problem-solving as dominant HOTS aspects, while interactive content emerged as the most frequently used online learning type. The bibliometric visualization generated 14 thematic clusters, providing insights into research trends and gaps. This study offers valuable insights for researchers, educators, and policymakers interested in biology online learning. It highlights the potential for further exploration of underrepresented areas, such as decision-making and empirical research. The findings also serve as a guide for future studies to enhance the effectiveness of inquiry-based learning in fostering HOTS.Keywords: bibliometrics; biology; higher-order thinking skills; online learning.

Abstract

The community service that we designed aims to improve the skills of applying science and technology in the community, especially the use of Information Technology in learning in elementary schools during the covid-19 pandemic. The target of this service is generally elementary school students and teachers in Cigadung Village. The method or performance of community service to achieve these goals is the implementation of Information Technology training through the introduction of computer hardware and software components, steps to create a gmail email, steps to use google classroom, google meet, zoom and how to draw using Ms.Paint. The implementation of the activities includes two elementary schools and 1 MD in the Cigadung village. The main activity is that participants take part in training to carry out direct practice using a computer/laptop/android with various activities in it to help students and teachers in an effort to optimize learning activities during online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. Keyword : Training, Information Technology, Learning, Elementary School, Covid-19.

Abstract

The teaching ability of teachers at SD Negeri 1 Tundagan still needs to be improved. The purpose of this study was to improve the teaching skills of teachers at SDN 1 Tundagan, Tundagan Village, Hantara District, Kuningan Regency. The approach used is Media Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This ICT can motivate elementary school teachers by providing concrete examples that communicating optimally accompanied by the application of information technology media in the classroom must continue to be carried out to get effective and efficient learning outcomes. After completing the training, the teachers were very enlightened and motivated to provide even better teaching by using technological media. One representative from the teacher submitted a request that the training be continued every semester on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

The ability of teaching English among English teachers still needs to be improved. The atmosphere of  English class will feel maximal when the teacher as a key factor plays its function and ability as an attractive, energetic, creative teacher and always uses English as a medium of communication in teaching. English as Medium of Interaction (EMI) is an approach in training to improve teacher skills in teaching English to junior high school teachers in the Kadugede Group. Instructor provides training with full of English so that the trainees are moved to respond in English as well. The use of English in the classroom with a percentage of only 60%: 40% will certainly have a significant positive impact in the learning process. Motivating teachers by providing concrete examples that communicating optimally in English classes must continue to be done to get effective and efficient learning outcomes. After completion of teacher training – teachers feel motivated to teach in the classroom using EMI. They felt that during the training, they had received full training in English, so they realized that in English, students were accustomed to listening and were moved and forced to speak English because learning the language was just the matter of habit.

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media in the form of a Leafcapture Identification Application Based on Augmented Reality (AR) in plant morphology courses with accuracy, user interface, and good content. The research method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the The ADDIE approach involves a systematic process for designing learning media. In the Analyze stage, the focus is on identifying the need for new learning media, specifically the Leafcapture Identification Application Based on AR, and assessing its feasibility and requirements. In the Design stage, activities include application design, interface design, 3D image creation, and marker design. The Development stage involves gathering relevant content, such as plant leaf images and names, and setting up the application interface. During Implementation, the developed media is used and evaluated by experts and users to assess its impact on learning quality. Media experts validated the product with a 75% approval rating, while subject matter experts found it 88.89% valid. Evaluation was conducted by surveying students in plant morphology courses, with results confirming the product's effectiveness. Through AR, students can directly engage with three-dimensional (3D) models of various parts of plants, such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits. They can manipulate and examine each part more deeply, enhancing their understanding of the relationships between parts and the functions of each component. Additionally, AR makes learning plant morphology more engaging and lifelike. Keywords: Augmented Reality; biology; Leafcapture identification.
